Watch seven-year-old drummer crush Slipknot’s “Sulfer” on ‘Ellen’

If you want to see the next generation of rock artists in action, the best place to do that is…Ellen?

After previously showcasing the talents of kid drummers Nandi Bushell and Yoyoka Soma, Ellen Degeneres welcomed yet another viral musical prodigy to her show: seven-year-old Caleb Hayes from England.

Caleb guested on Ellen earlier this week and delighted the audience with a crushing drum cover of the Slipknot song “Sulfer.” During an interview with Degeneres, Caleb shared that the Knot was his favorite band, and that he was saving up to buy a signature Jay Weinberg snare drum. Naturally, Degeneres surprised the pint-sized metaller with that very snare.

Weinberg later tweeted out videos of Caleb’s performance and of the kid being presented with the drum, writing, “What a way to own the moment, and deliver a fantastic performance. So stoked to see you rip it up on @TheEllenShow.”

If Caleb wants to continue in Nandi’s footsteps, then maybe he’ll challenge Weinberg to a drum battle, just like how she challenged Dave Grohl.
