Motionless in White frontman excited to attend When We Were Young “as a fan”: “It’s gonna be really fun”

Given their whole look, style and sound, it feels safe to assume that the members of Motionless in White may have visited Hot Topic a couple times while growing up. It’s probably no surprise, then, that frontman Chris “Motionless” Cerulli is pumped about the When We Were Young lineup.

“High school me loved all that kind of stuff, and I still love it today,” Cerulli tells ABC Audio.

Motionless in White is among the many, many bands playing When We Were Young, though the “Masterpiece” outfit is one of the relatively newer artists on a bill headlined by 2000s emo and pop-punk heavyweights My Chemical Romance and Paramore.

“It’s an honor to be on that kind of show where you’re considered peers to a lot of those artists,” Cerulli shares.

Even still, Cerulli says he’s most excited to be attending When We Were Young “as a fan.”

“I hate to say it, and I don’t wanna disappoint our fans, and I say it in a fun, joking, loving way,” Cerulli smiles. “I’m more excited to be there to be a fan and watch bands play than I am to even play our likely 30-minute set to … a fraction of the crowd.”

“I’m gonna have fun playing, but I’m going out there to watch,” he adds. “It’s gonna be really fun.”

When We Were Young takes place October 22, 23 and 29 in Las Vegas.
