Mastodon has released a new song called “Forged by Neron.”

The riff-heavy track was recorded for Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack, an upcoming album inspired by the DC Comics series of the same name. Neron is the name of a DC Comics character.

Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack, which was executive-produced by film composer Tyler Bates, also includes the previously released Rise Against song “Broken Dreams, Inc.” Other artists who’ve contributed to the project include Deftones Chino Moreno, Grey Daze, In This Moment‘s Maria Brink, Manchester Orchestra, Black Veil BridesAndy Biersack and ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo.

The album is due out June 18; you can download “Forged by Nero” now via digital outlets.

Mastodon, meanwhile, has been working on new music to follow 2017’s Emperor of Sand, their most recent album. Since then, they’ve released the song “Rufus Lives” for the Bill & Ted Face the Music soundtrack, as well as their Medium Rarities compilation.
