Foo Fighters have nothing to be ashamed about with their latest single.
“Shame Shame,” the lead track off the band’s upcoming album Medicine at Midnight, has reached number one on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Songs chart, which measures radio airplay. Its ascension ends the reign of AC/DC‘s comeback single “Shot in the Dark,” which had led the tally for the past five weeks.
With “Shame Shame,” the Foos now have a total of nine number-one hits atop Mainstream Rock Songs. It also gives Dave Grohl and company their first chart topper of the 2020s, after previously scoring number-ones in the 2000s and 2010s.
Medicine at Midnight, the follow-up to 2017’s Concrete and Gold, is due out February 5, 2021.
