Five Finger Death Punch has tied a new Billboard chart record thanks to “Darkness Settles In,” the band’s latest single.
The track, a cut off the 2020 Death Punch album F8, has hit number one on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay ranking, giving Ivan Moody and company seven straight leaders on the tally.
That streak, which dates back to the 2018 single “Sham Pain,” matches Disturbed‘s record-setting run of seven consecutive number-one Mainstream Rock singles, lasting from 2015’s “The Vengeful One” to 2019’s “No More.”
With “Darkness Settles In,” FFDP now has a total of 11 number-one hits on Mainstream Rock Songs, tying Godsmack for fourth-most in the chart’s 40-year history. Shinedown has the most, with 16, followed by Three Days Grace with 15, and Van Halen with 13.
