Cradle of Filth‘s upcoming U.S. tour will focus on the group’s 1998 concept album Cruelty and the Beast.
The Lustmord and Tourgasm tour launches October 1 in Dallas with support from 3Teeth and Once Human. Right now, the trek is scheduled to wrap up October 26 in San Francisco, followed by an appearance on October 29 at the Monterrey Metal Festival in Mexico.
In a statement, frontman Dani Filth says, “It’s been far too long America, but soon we will return to haunt your shores again. We, as a band, are very much looking forward to coming back to the States and performing Cruelty and the Beast in its entirety (plus some firm fan favorites), which was our earlier intention before the Pandemic reared its ugly head.”
Cruelty and the Beast was inspired by Hungarian countess Elizabeth Báthory, known as the “Blood Countess” because she was thought to have tortured and killed hundreds of women and girls between 1580 and 1610. Legend has it that she also bathed in their blood. She’s listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most prolific female killer in history.
Last week, Cradle of Filth announced that their new album, Existence Is Futile, will be out October 22.
