Avatar will be opening up for their metal heroes Iron Maiden this summer.

The Swedish band will support the “Run to the Hills” legends for three shows in Brazil, scheduled for late August and early September.

“Sweden is Iron Maiden country,” Avatar says in a statement. “They have molded us like few others, and that goes for Avatar as much as it goes for the entire Swedish scene in the last four decades. That being said, we always knew about another place where they are just as crazy for our heroes as we are.”

“There seems to be a Swedish law that every [rehearsal] room needs to have the Rock in Rio poster up,” the band adds. “Brazil has always been a dream destination. We have always known that we would find brothers and sister[s] there. The fact that our first trip there will be together with Iron Maiden is almost too much to take in.”

Avatar is currently touring the U.S., and the group has also been working on a new album to follow 2020’s Hunter Gatherer.

In related news, Iron Maiden’s Legacy of the Beast mobile game has added a new, Five Finger Death Punch-themed level. The in-game event will be available through July 19 at 5 p.m. PT.

Players will also have a chance to unlock a character based on FFDP’s Knucklehead mascot by logging into Legacy of the Beast for any seven days between now and August 11.

Legacy of the Beast has previously added levels inspired by Ghost and Disturbed.
