Alter Bridge frontman and Slash collaborator Myles Kennedy has announced a new solo album.
The upcoming record, the sophomore follow-up to Kennedy’s 2018 debut Year of the Tiger, is called The Ides of March, and will arrive May 14.
The first single from The Ides of March is a bluesy rocker titled “In Stride,” which contrasts the acoustic-driven, folk-influenced direction of Year of the Tiger. You can “In Stride” download now via digital outlets.
“The lyric paints a picture of a survivalist preparing for an impending zombie apocalypse,” Kennedy says of “In Stride.” “It was inspired by the first wave of lockdowns as everyone was buying vast amounts of toilet paper and supplies. I started to ask myself if it might be wise to try and gain some perspective and not overreact…keep calm and carry on.”
Here’s the track list for The Ides of March:
“Get Along”
“A Thousand Words”
“In Stride”
“The Ides of March”
“Wake Me When It’s Over”
“Love Rain Down”
