KEVIN BACON is 63, and his wife KYRA SEDGWICK is 56. They’ve been married since 1988. And apparently, they’re still keeping things HOT AND STICKY. He said, quote, “Sometimes doing laundry can be fun and full of surprises.” And Kyra replied, quote, “Thanks for airing my dirty laundry.”
In case you were wondering, MGK and SLIPKNOT’S COREY TAYLOR are not exactly friends. On Sunday, they both headlined at Riot Fest in Chicago . . .Corey talked crap on him earlier this year so first we will hear that then Machine Gun Kelly’s response on stage Sunday. Yesterday MGK tweeted (LINK), that Corey did a verse for him that was trash so he didn’t use it and Corey is bitter. Corey says he doesn’t do tracks others write for him and Travis Barker has proof.
Remember back in July when ERIC CLAPTON went all anti-vaxx on us? More specifically he said, quote, “I will not perform on any stage where there is a discriminated audience present. Unless there is provision made for all people to attend, I reserve the right to cancel the show.” Well, that didn’t last long because on Saturday, Eric did a show in New Orleans. And . . . like most concerts here in the U.S. . . . it required either proof of vaccine or a negative test result. Eric hasn’t commented. Maybe he justifies it because attendees could get in with a negative test, meaning they didn’t HAVE to be vaccinated?
LIL NAS X got with Elmo and redid Elmo’s song recently. The natural progression here would be the same deal but with The Teletubbies and it looks to be happening. Po, Dipsy, Tinky-Winky, and Laa-Laa tweeted (LINK) at Lil Nas X, asking if they can get a feature on his next album. He replied (LINK), quote, “Alright bet! Me and Tinky-Winky on the hook, Dipsy and Po on the verses and we’ll let Laa-Laa do the outro.” In related Lil Nas X news . . . he’s already raised tens of thousands of dollars for different charities . . . and it’s all thanks to his baby registry. There were a lot of movie references on “Seinfeld”. . . probably a lot more than you noticed. Someone put together a Supercut with more than 11 minutes’ worth of them. The video puts the actual movie scenes side-by-side with their “Seinfeld” parodies. The films include “The Fugitive”, “A Streetcar Named Desire”, “Scent of a Woman”, “Elephant Man”, “Three Days of the Condor”, “Apocalypse Now”, “Thelma and Louise”, “Taxi Driver”, “Marathon Man”, “The Graduate”, “Midnight Cowboy”, “Basic Instinct”, and “JFK”. Yesterday, writer producer of Sopranos David Chase explained (LINK) why “Don’t Stop Believin'” was picked for “The Sopranos” finale. His Sopranos prequel, “The Many Saints of Newark” hits theaters and HBOMax on Friday, October 1st.)
Raise your hand if you are excited for the Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark. A good handful of the characters and actors from the original will be in it. So if you are excited to see Edie Falco as Carmela Soprano you will certainly be disappointed to know she aint in it. She shot some scenes but they didn’t make the final cut. Apparently they shot shome scenes with her while deciding how to “launch the movie” The Many Saints of Newark is in theaters on October 1 and will be available to stream on HBO Max the same day.
A 1979 Porsche 928 used inTom Cruise’ “Risky Business” was sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Houston on Saturday for $1.98 million, setting a record for the model. The gold V8-powered coupe was one of four that appeared on camera and was used for exterior shots with Cruise behind the wheel. This car was used in most driving scenes. Interesting fact: 20 year old Tom Cruise needed to learn to drive a stick and did so with this car.
92% of people sing in the car. But which songs were most popular, and which genres are best for concentration, staying calm and staying alert?

34% of drivers listen to music to stay alert and a quarter rely on music when driving at night.
Pop and rock are the top genres for concentrating, with 45% of drivers saying it helps them concentrate better behind the wheel.
Classical music and soul are the nation’s favorite genres for feeling calm when driving. In fact, one in five drivers will listen to classical music in order to help them feel calm when they are driving.
Lee Chambers, psychologist says “accessing some tunes which help with attention, focus and concentration can help you with that final few miles of a long journey. He says grab music that sits around 60 beats per minute, is rhythmic and stimulating, but generally doesn’t have catchy lyrics that can distract us. “Studies have shown that high tempo songs can increase cognitive performance, which is exactly what you are searching for when everything feels like it is slowing down. In research, these are known as power songs and are often around 120 beats per minute.” For this, look no further than classics such as Dancing Queen by ABBA or Livin’ on a Prayer by Bon Jovi.

Last night the Cardinals started a series with the Brewers in Milwaukee. As of yesterday, they were working on an 8 game win streak. And…you can make it 9. Jon Lester and the Cardinals went on to pick up the 5-2 win. Lester also got a little bit of history with the win…he got his 200th win of his career. Nolan Arenado hit his 33rd home run in the win as well. Tonight, two teams back at it again, Jake Woodford gets the start for the Cardinals. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40PM.
Yesterday, Tyler O’Neill was rewarded for his monstrous week.
O’Neill was named the National League Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 13 through Sept 19. During that span, the 26-year-old left fielder hit .391 with 10 RBI, and nine runs scored. The Cardinals were undefeated last week with sweeps against the Mets and Padres.
The Cardinals made a pitching move on Monday that may not come as a huge shock to those who have been following the team. The Cardinals recalled left-handed reliever Brandon Waddell from Memphis and designated pitcher Daniel Ponce de Leon for assignment. Ponce de Leon has now been removed from the Cardinals’ 40-man roster and can be traded or picked up by another team on waivers. Ponce de Leon and Yadier Molina were recently caught on the broadcast camera getting into an altercation in the dugout. He has not appeared in a game for the team since then.
Salvador Pérez broke the single-season home run record for catchers that’s stood for a half-century as he hit No. 46 against Cleveland on last night. Reds catcher Johnny Bench set the record in 1970. The 31-year-old is now tied with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for the majors home run lead. Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani has 45 dingers. Pérez is the sixth catcher ever to hit at least 40 home runs in a single season, joining the likes of Mike Piazza, Roy Campanella, Todd Hundley and Javy Lopez.
Aaron Jones took the field on Monday night with a heavy heart, playing in his first home game since his father’s passing in April. A few hours later, he walked off of Lambeau Field with a signature four-touchdown performance in a 35-17 Packers win that he said afterward his father would be proud of. There was just one problem: Somewhere in one of those four touchdowns, he lost his chain. Jones revealed that he had been wearing a chain that contained some of his father’s ashes during the game. Somewhere along the way, the chain fell off. Jones finished the game with 115 yards from scrimmage and four scores (one rushing, three receiving). That ties him for the most touchdowns in Lambeau Field history, as well as the most ever scoring on Monday Night Football.
One bettor missed out on the parlay of a lifetime on Monday night as the Packers secured a 35-17 win over the Lions. A bettor placed $25 on a 16-game parlay for Week 2, entering Monday night’s matchup at a perfect 15-for-15 on this week’s slate of NFL games. If the 16th and final leg of the parlay cashed, the bettor would have won $726,959. He needed the Lions to win. The wager looked promising through the game’s first 30 minutes as the Lions entered the locker room up 17-14. Detroit was outscored 21-0 in the second half. Detroit fell short of its first win of 2021, and the gambler in question fell short of one of the best parlays in recent memory.

And finally – Talk about recovering from a mistake. Miami Marlins right fielder Jesus Sanchez overran a fly ball against the Washington Nationals but somehow recovered enough to stick his bare hand out and made a spectacular catch. The Marlins may be out of the playoff race in the National League East, but they will at least have this incredible play to look back at.
