Britney’s lawyer, Sam Ingham, actually asked the court to suspend Jamie from conservatorship duties back in November and the judge denied the request back then. Britneys side wanted Jamie replaced by Bessemer Trust, which would have become the sole conservator of her estate, but the judge wasn’t having it.  The judge just approved that, but also said Jamie will stay as co-conservator himself. The judge also reiterated that Ingham’s request to suspend Jamie was denied. It’s important to note, the judge signed this order keeping Jamie in place AFTER Britney’s testimony (link) last week. As you know, Britney wants Jamie out entirely, so it’s pretty clear her lawyer will file another motion to remove Jamie. Bottom line … Jamie has been and continues to be the sole conservator of Britney’s estate

It is Daddy Spears turn. He is now talking about Britney’s court appearance. Jamie Spears claims his daughter Britney Spears’s court-appointed conservator Jodi Montgomery and HER attorney Samuel Ingham III are the ones who have failed to give her freedom. Jamie Spears has now filed legal documents, claiming he hasn’t had any involvement in Britney’s personal conservatorship for nearly two years “ and has no intention of serving in that role again.” He’s insisting the blame for things Britney stated like not allowed to get married or have kids, lies with her current personal conservator, Jodi Montgomery.  Jamie also said he hasn’t spoken to his daughter for a long time because “he has been cut off from communicating with her.” His docs stated that Mr. Ingham (Britney’s lawyer) had incorrectly claimed Britney did not have the mental capacity to make decisions about her medical treatment and therefore it was left to the conservator of her person – now Jodi Montgomery. Jamie is saying it’s Britney’s lawyer, Ingham, who has been seeking to take away his client’s right to make medical decisions like have a baby. This is all such a mess and there’s a lot to take away from this. Jamie handles her finances and Jodi Montgomery is her personal conservator. According to Montgomery’s lawyer … Britney’s desire to get married and have a baby has never been impacted by the conservatorship while Jodi’s been conservator of the person, and says she’s always been there to honor Britney’s wishes and look out for her best interests.

BILL COSBY was released from prison yesterday, after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction. The court ruled that Cosby was denied protection against self-incrimination.  It’s basically a technicality, but it’s good enough, because he can’t be retried on the same charges. Cosby was convicted on three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault back in 2018 . . . for allegedly drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.  He had served nearly three years of a three- to 10-year sentence. Bill Tweeted (link) a picture of himself with his fist raised over his head, and the following statement:  “I have never changed my stance nor my story.  I have always maintained my innocence. “Thank you to all my fans, supporters and friends who stood by me through this ordeal.  Special thanks to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court for upholding the rule of law.” He also called in to a Philadelphia radio station and said this …and he went on to say…:And I know there are many liars out there.”  He did not however speak at the presser afterwards but his  reps did. Constand issued a statement saying the decision was, quote, “not only disappointing but of concern in that it may discourage those who seek justice for sexual assault in the criminal justice system.” A lot of female celebrities rage-Tweeted (link) about Cosby’s release, but ROSIE O’DONNELL was one of the rage-iest.  She Tweeted, quote, “I guess 70 women weren’t enough.  [Eff] U Bill.” (Actually, it was 60 women who accused Bill of sexually assaulting them, but who’s counting?) One famous woman had his back, though.  Not surprisingly, it was his “Cosby Show” co-star PHYLICIA RASHAD.  She said (link), quote, “FINALLY!!!!  A terrible wrong is being righted . . . a miscarriage of justice is corrected!”

TV actor Allison Mackwho played a key role in the scandal-ridden, cult-like group NXIVM (link), was sentenced to three years in prison yesterday on charges she manipulated women into becoming sex slaves for the group’s spiritual leader. Mack — best known for her role as a young Superman’s close friend on the series Smallville — had previously pleaded guilty to the charges and was expected to seek credit for cooperating against NXIVM leader Keith Raniere (link) and taking responsibility for helping him create a secret society of brainwashed women who were branded with his initials. Mack renounced Raniere. “I made choices I will forever regret,” she said, also telling the judge she was filled with “remorse and guilt.” “was the biggest mistake and greatest regret of my life,” she had written in a letter filed with the court last week (link). “I am sorry to those of you that I brought into NXIVM (link),” she wrote. “I am sorry I ever exposed you to the nefarious and emotionally abusive schemes of a twisted man.” Mack would face between 14 and 17 1/2 years behind bars, but her defense team argued for probation or a sentence to home confinement. Mack must surrender to begin her sentence by Sept. 29. Prosecutors said she became a “master” for “slaves” she ordered “to perform labor, take nude photographs, and in some cases, to engage in sex acts with Raniere.” As authorities closed in on Raniere, he fled to Mexico with Mack and others to try to reconstitute the group there. He was arrested and sent to the United States in March 2018; Mack was arrested a few days later.

James Franco (link) and associated entities have agreed to pay $2,235,000 to resolve a lawsuit alleging he pushed acting students into performing in increasingly explicit sex scenes on camera. The proposed deal is being put to a Los Angeles judge for approval. 2 former students in Franco’s acting class, led the lawsuit in October 2020. While the #MeToo movement has shed light on all sorts of misbehavior in Hollywood and beyond, this was a rare instance where alleged sexual exploitation became a putative class action. The complaint alleged that those who were taught by Franco at Studio 4 Film School in New York and Los Angeles were the victims of fraud. Here, Tither-Kaplan is getting $670,500, minus $223,500 less in fees going to the lawyers. Gaal will get $223,500, minus $74,500 to the lawyers. And the other students would get almost two-thirds of the remaining pot of $1.341 million, with the lawyers’ total take being around $827,000. The settlement will requirethe original 2 ladies to release claims, with the other students releasing fraud claims against the star actor. Those who are members of the class would have a couple of months to opt out. Unclaimed money would go as a contribution to the National Women’s Law Center.

Finish this sentence…Chris Kattan (link) allegedly… pulled an anti-masker moment onboard an American Airlines flight, frightening other passengers and prompting airline staff to order him off the plane. He had boarded the flight Monday from Dallas/Fort Worth to LAX, but his appearance startled several passengers who were seated near him in first class. They say he was stumbling and seemed sick, at least to other passengers … partially because he had mucous hanging out of his nose when he leaned over. He was not wearing a mask at that point, and we’re told passengers alerted flight attendants … who brought him paper towels and ordered him to put on a mask.  Chris did put one on — the federal mask mandate is still in effect for air travel — but left it below his nose … and by now his behavior had other passengers on edge. Witnesses say he begged flight attendants not to boot him, and even asked if they’d seen him on ‘SNL.’ Staffers asked him multiple times to pull up his mask, and warned if he didn’t do it immediately their next call would be to the cops. At that point, he finally got up and left. Kattan’s team’s side of the story goes like this… his attorney says, “We strongly deny that Mr. Kattan would ever refuse to wear a mask. Mr. Kattan is fully vaccinated and unequivocally supports CDC guidelines.” He continues, “This past Monday Mr. Kattan was returning to Los Angeles from a successful tour of comedy shows. Unfortunately, Mr. Kattan suffered a strong allergic reaction to supplements he has been taking to treat lingering neck pain from his injury on SNL. This reaction affected his balance and psychological state. The effects also caused him to have trouble breathing.” Smith finishes with, “Mr. Kattan sends a warning out to all his fans suffering through back and neck injury… “apparently, not all supplements are created equally!” Smith says Kattan was able to get on the next plane home.

Sam Hagar…when it comes to David Lee Roth im saying they will NOT be getting together this weekend. , it was almost an ask me anything.  It’s safe to say that the two former Van Halen vocalists won’t try another co-headlining tour ever again.

The Disney overlords are taking NO breaks after acquiring “The Simpsons”.  An upcoming short called “The Good, the Bart, and the Loki” mashes up “The Simpsons” with the Marvel Universe. TOM HIDDLESTON will voice Loki . . . could you imagine anyone else?  The official description says that Loki has been banished from Asgard and must face his toughest opponents yet: the Simpsons and Springfield’s mightiest heroes. A promotional image (link) shows a Simpson-fied Loki with Springfield residents dressed as different Marvel heroes and villains . . . like Lisa Simpson as Thor and Milhouse as Hawkeye. It’ll be on Disney+ on Wednesday, July 7th.

ADAM SANDLER is looking for, quote, “highly skilled” basketball players for his new Netflix movie, “Hustle”.  There are only a few rules to tryout: you must be a dude . . . you must be 18 to 30 years old . . . and you can’t already be playing in the NCAA. Tryouts will be held in mid-July in Delaware, according to a casting call (link).  Filming starts at the end of August. The movie has Adam playing an American basketball scout who is unjustly fired after discovering a once-in-a-lifetime player abroad.  He then brings the player to the U.S. to prove that they BOTH have what it takes to make it in the NBA.

Sex and “Lord of the Rings” aren’t a thing. But a casting call for the new Amazon series mentioned that actors should be comfortable with full or partial nudity.  And the show also hired an “intimacy coordinator” to consult on racy scenes. That didn’t sit well with many fans of the franchise.  A group called Christian Memes started a petition on Change.org (link) telling Amazon to KEEP IT CLEAN.  As of last night they were pretty close to their goal of 50,000 signatures. The petition says, quote, “Tolkien’s work is truly wholesome. He was a devout Catholic, and his memory does not need to be stained with gratuitous nudity or even nudity in the slightest

Well, we are currently undefeated at Rizz Show Night at the Blues game…and now we can say that we are officially undefeated when it comes to Team Rizz Day at the Ballpark.  The Cards picked up a 7-4 win against the Diamondbacks and sweep the series against Zona.  Tonight, big night for Nolan Arenado as he returns to Colorado for the first time.  Adam Wainwright gets the start as first pitch is scheduled for 7:40PM.

The Lightning are up 2 games to none over the Canadiens after they got the 3-1 last night.  The series will now shift to Montreal where the Canadiens are already at a disadvantage.  They will only be allowed to have 3,500 fans in attendance.  That game is tomorrow night at 7PM.

The Phoenix Suns are the first team to punch their ticket to the NBA final.  They beat the Clippers last night 130-103 and win the series 4 games to 2.  It’s the first finals appearance for the Suns since 1993.  Tonight – the Bucks and Hawks play game 5 with that series all tied up.  Speaking of tonight’s game…

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has no structural damage in his left knee injured in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. There is no timetable for his return. The Bucks said Giannis will be listed as doubtful for Game 5 against the Hawks on Thursday. Giannis left Tuesday night’s game after he hyperextended his left knee and landed awkwardly on his leg when jumping to block an alley-oop. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30PM.

In a surprise move, the NCAA will start allowing student-athletes to earn money off of their names, images, and likenesses. The decision came down on Wednesday. Athletes can start taking advantage of the new situation starting today. NCAA president Mark Emmert said, “This is an important day for college athletes since they all are now able to take advantage of name, image, and likeness opportunities. The current environment — both legal and legislative — prevents us from providing a more permanent solution, and the level of detail student-athletes deserve.” More than a dozen states have laws that went into effect that struck down the rules where the NCAA did not allow student-athletes to profit off of their popularity. Now, athletes will be able to monetize their social media, sign autographs, run skill camps, and take part in advertising campaigns.

Nationals shortstop Trea Turner hit for the cycle for the third time in his career on Wednesday to tie the record for the most during the modern era. Turner, who turned 28 yesterday, sealed the milestone in the bottom of the sixth inning against the Rays. He sent an 88 mph cutter to right field on a 1–1 count and had no intention for settling for second, racing onto third and sliding in headfirst. Turner also stole second and third base after his first-inning single and scored four times. The most recent cycle before Turner’s was Sept. 17, 2019.

We have a College World Series champion.  For the first time in school history, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are National Champs.  The beat Vanderbilt in Game 3 of the World Series Final 9-0.  The title is Mississippi State’s first in any team varsity sport. The Bulldogs had made the College World Series 11 times before this season, finishing as runners-up in 2013.

Welp, it’s official. The Portland Thorns signed 15-year-old Olivia Moultrie to a three-year contract, the latest step forward for her after a legal battle challenging NWSL’s age limit. Portland acquired the rights to the midfielder in a trade from OL Reign.  Moultrie has trained and played in preseason games for the past three seasons with the Thorns, but was not allowed to play in official matches.  Moultrie’s signing with the Thorns comes after challenging the league’s rule of prohibiting players under 18 in a lawsuit in May.
