Dr. Strange and The Multiverse of Madness was number 1 box office for a second week, earning another $61 million. The latest Marvel movie has earned $291 million in North America and grossed over $688 million worldwide.   The remake of Stephen King’s Firestarter fizzled at the box office, however.  It barely made a spark in its opening weekend with only $3.8 million in ticket sales.

Rob Zombie’s Munsters movie isn’t coming to Peacock, but has been rumored to have been sold off to Netflix instead. The website said Zombie’s Munsters reboot could also premiere on Netflix as early as  this Fall.   It’s already been confirmed that Zombie, who usually gets an R-rating for his films, got a PG-rating for The Munsters.

James Hetfield got a little vulnerable during Metallica’s show last Thursday in Brazil. Just before the band went into “Sad But True” Hetfield. That’s when the rest of Metallica left their spots to give Hetfield a group hug.  Papa Het said “And seeing you out there, I… I am not alone. I am not alone, and neither are you.”

Machine Gun Kelly may have revealed he and Megan Fox have gotten married and are pregnant at the Billboard Muisc Awards. On the red carpet ahead of the show, the couple teased that there are some special secret meanings to the song! (LINK)

JUSTIN BIEBER performed at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo on Saturday . . . just hours after a white supremacist went on a rampage at a local grocery store, killing 10 people. Probably not an easy thing to do, but Justin handled it with class. He started the show by honoring the victims with a moment of silence.  And during the intro to “As I Am”, he gave a little speech about everyone coming together and recognizing that we have more in common than not. He also mentioned the shooting during a prayer (LINK) with his crew before he went onstage.

Reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian legally married rock drummer Travis Barker on Sunday. According to a report in People, Kardashian, 43, and Barker, 46, married in Santa Barbara, California in a small ceremony with only a few close friends and family members in attendance. People reported that the couple intends to have a larger wedding ceremony in Italy. Kardashian’s younger sister Kylie Jenner was not at the wedding, instead, she attended the 2022 Billboard Music Awards with partner Travis Scott and daughter Stormi Webster. The legal marriage follows a “practice” marriage (LINK) the couple undertook in a Las Vegas chapel wedding ceremony in early April

FRED WARD from “Tremors”, “The Right Stuff”, and “Henry and June” died last Sunday.  He was 79.  No word on the cause of death. Fred was in so many other great movies, including “The Player”, “Miami Blues”, “Short Cuts”, “Escape from Alcatraz”, “Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins”, and “The Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult”. His last appearance was on two episodes of HBO’s “True Detective”, where he played the father of COLIN FARRELL’s character.  KEVIN BACON fought the giant killer Graboids with him in 1990’s “Tremors” (LINK)

BRITNEY SPEARS and her fiancé SAM ASGHARI shared sad news over the weekend.  She suffered a miscarriage. They released a joint statement saying, quote, “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy.  This is a devastating time for any parent.  Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along.” The statement ended on a positive note.  Quote, “Our love for each other is our strength.  We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family.  We are grateful for all of your support” (LINK)

While JASON MOMOA was in Italy filming “Fast X”, he took some time out to see the sights . . . including Vatican City.  But he made the mistake of taking pictures and video inside the Sistine Chapel . . . and posting it on Instagram. As people immediately started pointing out, pictures and video inside the chapel are FORBIDDEN. So he posted a video saying he did NOT mean to offend anyone.

Kuwahara is releasing a replica of Elliott’s red and white BMX bike to celebrate the 40th anniversary of “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial”.  So time to break out a red hoodie and some Reese’s Pieces. It’s probably worth mentioning this bike does NOT include a milk crate . . . or any type of extra-terrestrial, for that matter.  It has an official “E.T.” logo though, and it rides much easier and more comfortable than the 1982 version. It includes a bell, stand, and chain cover.  You can order one this fall for $799.99 (LINK) (LINK)

There’s going to be an animated “Married… with Children” TV series.  And before you ask, YES, the original Bundys are coming back. There’s no word where it would air.  The ORIGINAL series that aired from ’87 to ’97 on Fox can currently be found on Hulu, Peacock, and Pluto TV. This isn’t the first time Sony has tried to revive the series.  Back in 2014, they tried to do a spinoff about Bud Bundy . . . to no avail.  So stay tuned

Actor and cannabis legalization activist Woody Harrelson (LINK) opened a new business in West Hollywood, California, on Friday, May 13: a legal cannabis dispensary that will also include a consumption lounge located in a backyard garden. Harrelson’s new venture, The Woods, debuted with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the mayor of West Hollywood, Lauren Meister and the head of the city’s chamber of commerce, Genevieve Morrill. “Hopefully we’ve added more beauty and more good times here. Hopefully, we can make the West Hollywood Citizens a little bit higher,” said Harrelson to a crowd assembled outside The Woods, where at least one onlooker was lighting up. “It’s the greatest day that I’ve had in a long time.”The Woods is one of what are expected to be up to 16 cannabis consumption lounges (according to Eater LA) in West Hollywood  from smoking apparatuses to flowers and edibles in a beautifully designed space that feels like a high-end boutique (LINK)

Sports Report 1

We’ve now found out when the Blues will be starting their series with the Colorado Avalanche.  And the answer is…tomorrow night in Colorado.  The Blues take on the Avs with puck drop starting at 8:30PM.   This year in the three times that the Blues and Avs have met, Colorado took 2 of 3 from the Blues.  Games 1 and 2 are from Colorado tomorrow and Thursday.  Game 3 is here at 7PM with Game 4 at 8:30pm from Enterprise Center.

Yesterday we saw the final two teams punch their tickets into round 2 and both games went into overtime.  The Rangers knocked off the Penguins and the Flames knocked out the Stars.  So tomorrow – in addition to the Blues game – we will see Tampa and Florida get their series started. The Rangers meet the Hurricanes on Wednesday as well as the Oilers and the Flames.

Yesterday at Busch it was a blowout from the get go.  Putting up 4 in the first set the tone as the Cardinals went on to score a total of 15 runs in their 15-6 blowout of the Giants.  Adam Wainwright got the start but it was near the end of the game where the story became who was on the mound.  However – before we get into the cutesy thing that happened yesterday…That victory allowed Wainwright and Molina to become the winningest starting battery in AL/NL history. Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, and Yadier Molina all went deep in the win…The biggest laughs of the night came in the ninth inning when Pujols spoke up and volunteered to pitch as Marmol was contemplating using a position player to close the lopsided game. Pujols received cheers with every strike thrown and fans chanted “M-V-P! M-V-P!” when he nearly induced a game-ending double-play grounder on a 54 mph fastball. However, Pujols — the owner of 681 career home runs — surrendered home runs to Luis González and Joey Bart. “That was a dream come true and now I can say I did it and it was fun,” Pujols said. “It wasn’t fun giving up two bombs, but I think the fans had a good time and I’m sure the guys who took me deep did, too.”

In what’s quickly become a lost season for the Cincinnati Reds, this really was the ultimate misery. Prized rookie Hunter Greene and reliever Art Warren combined to allow zero hits in a complete game, but it didn’t count as a no-hitter — or even a win. Instead, the Pittsburgh Pirates eked out a run in the bottom of the eighth inning on three walks and a groundout for a 1-0 victory Sunday. The Pirates become the sixth team in big league history since 1901 to win despite not getting any hits.

In the NBA playoffs we now how our conference final match ups all set.  In the West it will be the Golden State Warriors taking on the Dallas Mavericks after the Mavs knocked out of the Sun in Game 7.  In the East, the Miami Heat will take on the Boston Celtics after Boston got the best of the Bucks in THEIR game 7.  The Boston/Miami season tips off on Tuesday night.

Hours after reports emerged that Drew Brees would not return to NBC in his role as a studio analyst, Brees took to Twitter to set the record straight that his media—and football—future remained up in the air. Sunday afternoon we heard that NBC and Brees had mutually agreed to part ways, with some discrepancy about what Brees’s role with the network would be. Brees apparently envisioned a role as a color commentator, while the network wanted him as an analyst for Football Night in America. The report said that the network once saw Brees as the heir apparent to lead play-by-play analyst Cris Collinsworth as the color commentator for Sunday Night Football, but it no longer sees him as a fit for the role after a subpar performance in the Bengals-Raiders playoff game last season.  Here is what Drew tweeted: “Despite speculation from media about my future this fall, I’m currently undecided. I may work for NBC, I may play football again, I may focus on business and philanthropy, I may train for the pickleball tour, senior golf tour, coach my kids or all of the above. I’ll let you know”

As he continues to prepare for this week’s PGA Championship, Tiger Woods is feeling more confident in his strength since the last time he was competing. Woods made his return to competition at the Masters Tournament last month, his first event since a devastating car crash in February 2021. He successfully walked all 72 holes at Augusta National, a massive accomplishment considering the serious leg injuries he had suffered just 14 months prior. After opening with a one-under 71 in the first round and making the cut, Woods finished the tournament at 13 over.

Kurt Busch held off Kyle Larson to emerge victorious in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway for his first win of the 2022 season.  It’s Busch’s first career win at Kansas Speedway and his first win while racing for Michael Jordan’s 23XI Racing in the No. 45 Toyota. Busch’s younger brother Kyle Busch, who won the first stage of Sunday’s race, placed third. Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell rounded out the top five.
