The first video on Youtube to hit 10 billion views is . . . the 2016 “Baby Shark Dance” music video.  It’s been the most viewed video for the last 15 months.  The second most-viewed video is “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, which has 7.7 billion views. Well, it doesn’t look like “Baby Shark” is going anywhere anytime soon.  It now has its own cartoon series on Nickelodeon, merchandise like toys and party decorations, and live tours.

Spencer Elden has refiled his child porn lawsuit against Nirvana after having it tossed out of court. The case was thrown out because Elden and his lawyers didn’t respond to Nirvana’s motion to dismiss it last December. Elden’s lawyers wrote in the second amended complaint that “Nirvana intentionally commercially marketed the child pornography depicting Spencer and leveraged the lascivious nature of his image…while earning, at a minimum, tens of millions of dollars in the aggregate.” The lawyers, did, however, drop the sex trafficking claims.

KANYE WEST is being investigated for allegedly punching a guy outside a club in L.A. early yesterday morning. There’s no word why. There’s video of Kanye yelling at someone off-camera.  He said, quote, “Did y’all say that or not?  Did y’all say that or not?  Cuz that’s what happened right [effing] now!”

Do you think celebrities are to blame for childhood obesity?  The University of Chicago took a look at the food and drinks that appear in celebrities’ posts that are NOT sponsored ads. I’d like to know what celebrities btw.  87% of the foods celebrities posted about were unhealthy, and about 90% of the drinks. The top three foods they posted about were sweet bakery items like cake, donuts, and brownies, then fruits and veggies.  Pop singers were more likely to post about sugary drinks, while famous men posted about strong alcoholic drinks like tequila. Celebrity posts were NOT compared to those of regular users.  A professor said, quote, “Celebrity posts can influence viewers through attitude alignment [and] social connection . . . from likeable people to the foods and beverages that they depict . . .”Given celebrities’ following, there is potential to shape their followers’ perceptions that healthy eating is normative and valued if celebrities commit to posting a healthier profile of foods and beverages.”  (20% of children in the U.S. are obese.) The Blues played the Kraken last night for the very first time at Enterprise Center.  Seattle started things off with a goal in the 1st.  No score in the 2nd so the Blues once again entered the 3rd period down by a goal.  Robert Thomas scored a minute and a ½ into the 3rd to tie things up…and then Pavel Buchnevich scored his 14th of the year and sealed the deal.  Blues win 2-1.  Blues are off tonight but take on the Leafs on Saturday at Enterprise Center.  Puck drops at 6PM.

The NHL has revealed its rosters for the 2022 All-Star Game in Las Vegas, with some significant names missing from the teams. The All-Star Game again will feature four divisional teams — Metropolitan, Atlantic, Central and Pacific — playing in a 3-on-3 tournament. It’s the first All-Star Game since the 2019-20 season, as last season’s edition did not happen due to the pandemic-shortened season. The All-Star Game will be Feb. 5 on ABC at 2PM, with the skills competition taking place the day before on Feb. 4 on ESPN from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. For the Blues…Jordan Kyrou will be at the All-Star Game.  Robert Thomas is on the Last Man In ballot.

This weekend is the first ever NFL SUPER WILDCARD WEEKEND!  On Saturday at 3:30 you have the Raiders in Cinci against the Bengals.  That game is on NBC.  Then you have the Patriots in Buffalo against the Bills.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15PM on CBS.  On Sunday – three games on the schedule.  At noon you have the Eagles in Tampa against the Bucs on Fox.  At 3:30 the Cowboys host the 49ers on CBS.  And the night game, in KC as the Chiefs host the Steelers.  That kicks off at 7:15PM on NBC.  And for the first time ever…the Cardinals will play the Rams on Wild Card MONDAY from LA on ESPN at 7:15PM.

The Texans fired David Culley on Thursday, a move that came four days after Houston wrapped a 4-13 campaign in his first season as head coach. The firing comes one year after the Texans hired Culley, a longtime assistant who became the oldest first-time NFL head coach at age 65. Culley, hired in January 2021, was the lone Black head coach hired last offseason and was one of three Black coaches in the NFL this past season. His firing leaves the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ Mike Tomlin as the NFL’s only current Black head coach (the Dolphins fired Brian Flores earlier this week). Texans Offensive coordinator Tim Kelly also was fired Thursday.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper has been fined $14,650 by the NFL for violating the COVID-19 protocols for unvaccinated players by attending a Dallas Mavericks game last week and not wearing a mask. Prior to attending the Mavericks game, Cooper was on the sideline at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, cheering on Alabama against Cincinnati. Cooper was with teammates CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs, but since they have been vaccinated, they do not have the same restrictions and were not fined. An unvaccinated player can attend a sporting event but must sit in a luxury suite with a mask and not be surrounded by more than 10 people. Cooper was sitting courtside at the Mavericks game.

Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams announced Thursday he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2022 NFL draft.  Williams earned All-SEC honors in 2021 after tallying a conference-best 1,572 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. Williams suffered a torn ACL in Monday’s loss to Georgia in the national championship. He will undergo surgery “within the next week.”

There will reportedly be far fewer COVID-19 tests administered by the NBA after Saturday. The league informed teams that daily testing of players, coaches and Tier 1 personnel will end after Saturday. Instead, only those who are “symptomatic, exposed or [under] enhanced directive by [the] league office” will be subjected to testing. While there hasn’t been as dramatic of a disruption as the 2019-20 campaign when the NBA had to finish its season and playoffs inside the Walt Disney World Resort bubble, there have been a number of adjustments in 2021-22 amid the pandemic.

Tennis star Novak Djokovic faces deportation again after the Australian government revoked his visa for a second time. Immigration Minister Alex Hawke said he used his discretion to revoke the 34-year-old’s visa on public interest grounds three days before the Australian Open is to begin. Djokovic’s lawyers will appear in front of a judge where the judge will outline next steps in the player’s appeal case. There are multiple reports that Djokovic will attend an immigration hearing on Saturday but those have not been confirmed by the player or the immigration office. Hawke said he canceled the visa on “health and good order grounds, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so.”

Major League Baseball on Thursday made its first labor proposal since locking out players Dec. 2, focusing on issues that did little to encourage players and heightened the likelihood of spring training being postponed. During the sides’ first meeting, the league proposed changes to the arbitration system for players with two-plus years of service, tweaked its proposed draft lottery and offered the ability for teams to earn draft picks if top prospects find early success in the major leagues. MLB hoped the proposal would spur discussion with the union after the sides’ failed negotiations leading up to the lockout led to six weeks of inaction.  Both sides are hopeful that a resolution can be met before Spring Training but things are not looking good.

Yesterday fake reports of the firing of Mizzou’s head coach started to spread, but again, nothing official…all just rumors.  They are in action tomorrow against Texas A&M at 2:30PM.  25th ranked Illinois takes on Michigan tonight at 8PM.  And SLU is in action tomorrow afternoon as well as they host Fordham at 1:30PM
