Things with Nick Cannon are truly just about out of control — he’s just welcomed a surprise (to the us, anyway) birth of a daughter, his 9th child, with model LaNisha Cole. It feels like it was just yesterday – but it was actually a couple months ago — we were congratulating Nick on baby #8, but he proudly announced Wednesday night he and LaNisha welcomed Onyx Ice Cole Cannon’s arrival. Nick’s clearly getting fed up with jokes about his rapidly-growing family because he said, “As we all know I am not easily triggered and have quite tough skin and have always been an open book but not everyone in my family has that same level of strength. So I pray and ask others to please project all criticism and cynicism towards ME and not the loving and precious Mothers of my children.” We’re already expecting 2 more announcements from Nick before we hit 2023! We know Brittany Bell — with whom he already has 2 kids — is expecting their third, because she and Nick did a pregnancy photo shoot together last month. Also, Abby De La Rosa, is due next month (LINK) and that will also be her third child with Nick.

Naomi Ackie makes viewers want to dance with her portrayal of Whitney Houston in the trailer for the upcoming biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody (LINK). We are being treated to the first extended look at the film, set to release in theaters on Dec. 21. The film serves as a “no-holds-barred” portrait of the award-winning vocalist, playing on Houston’s emotional, inspiring and personal journey from the church choir to her stunning break into the music industry and her knock-out (and record-setting) performances and songs, including her memorable 1991 Super Bowl rendition of the national anthem.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are expecting their fourth child.  Blake showed up at an event called the Forbes Power Women’s Summit yesterday with a visible bump. Blake and Ryan already have three daughters:  7-year-old James, 5-year-old Inez, and 2-year-old Betty. They’ve been married since 2012. Their relationship is basically the only decent thing that came out of that “Green Lantern” movie.  She’s 35, he’s 45.

Who would’ve thought eating glass could cause health problems?  Certainly not David Blaine.  During an interview, he said a dentist told him the nerves in his teeth are almost exposed. Not to mention there’s also chemicals in glass.  Quote, “The chemical that they use to make glass is also going into your body so, not the best idea.”  David’s metabolism and short-term memory have taken a hit due to the stress his various stunts have put his body through.  And he said there may be other residual effect he still doesn’t know about yet. Since David is a father to an 11-year-old daughter, he’s a bit more cautious now.  Quote, “The way I approach things is very different, very calculated.”

Listen up “Princess Bride” fans.  Want to watch the movie with Westley himself? Cary Elwes will attend a screening in person in Denver on December 10th.  The movie will be followed by a discussion, where he’ll be sharing stories and signing copies of his book, “As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride”. December 10th gives you plenty of time to make any travel arrangements.  Tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com.  Prices start at $30, but for $150, you can have special seating and a meet-and-greet photo.

‘Giant Freakin’ Robot’ says DC’s Superman and ‘Witcher’ actor Henry Cavill is in talks to play Frankenstein in a Universal reboot. Universal’s been trying to figure out how to capitalize on its “roster of monsters” for years now and think a movie on the iconic monster made of corpses and electricity needs its own film. Here’s the thing; we know that ‘Frankenstein’ actually refers to the scientist who created the monster, not the monster itself.  It’s unsure which role Cavill would play.

Dolly Parton has a storybook country career and she’s giving fans another gift. The country legend officially announced the release of Dolly Parton – Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection.  The project features nearly two dozen hits including “9 to 5,” “Jolene,” and “I Will Always Love You.” This is the first time Parton will release a collection that includes 23 of her most successful songs spanning from 1971-2020. The compilation album is available in digital form, CD, and a 2 LP pink glitter 12” edition exclusively through Dolly’s official website.  It will be out November 18th.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is going out with one last bang … so says the entire group with the announcement of their final tour as a five-man unit together. TMZ has learned KrayzieLayzieBizzyWish and Flesh are reuniting for Snoop Dogg‘s “High Hopes Concert” series … which is loaded with hip hop legends. Following the concert series, the group will still tour as a quartet minus Bizzy’s involvement … making this particular tour a must-see for hip hop fans. Also on the bill?  Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Method Man & Redman, Warren G, and Xzibit.

Sublime (LINK)‘s career may have been cut short by the death of singer Bradley Nowell, but their music has lived on and now their story will be told in film form. Sony is developing a film about the iconic ska-punk band. Some of the particulars are starting to come together with Francis Lawrence now on board to direct the film. The Australian director is best known for The Hunger Games series. The director DID however get his start in the music world directing videos for Bad Religion, Fastball, Third Eye Blind, Aerosmith, Green Day, P.O.D. Garbage, Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, Incubus, Goo Goo Dolls, Audioslave and others.

Remember that guy from the ’70s who said Queen Elizabeth “ain’t no human being” and called the monarch a “fascist regime”?  Well, he’s angry with his old bandmates for trying to capitalize on the Queen’s death. Obviously, I’m talking about Johnny Rotten.  He’s blasting the surviving members of the Sex Pistols for allegedly trying to make a buck off her demise by licensing the song “God Save the Queen”. In a statement on Twitter, he says the rest of the band and their management have, quote, “approved a number of requests” against his wishes.  Johnny said that he finds this, quote, “tasteless and disrespectful to the Queen and her family at this moment in time.”  Unfortunately there’s nothing he can do about it because they have a “majority rules”-type agreement. Johnny added that he’s never supported the monarchy, but he feels that the family, quote, “deserves some respect in this difficult time.”  Which is very human of him, but not terribly punk.

Anyone who went to see Panic! At the Disco in St. Paul, Minnesota on Wednesday got treated to Fire! At the Concert.  A fire broke out on the stage in the middle of the show, but the band kept playing, and crew members were able to put it out. In a fan-shot video, you can see that Brendon Urie just kind of danced around until the situation was under control.  It wasn’t a very big fire.

Hit songs are great, until they’re overplayed and become completely annoying.  MSN (LINK) put together a list of songs we just don’t need to hear anymore. They are:

The Cardinals had one hit in the first 8 innings. Tried a little comeback in the ninth but it wasn’t enough. Cards lost last night at home to the Cincinnati Reds 3-2. The Cardinals try again against the Reds again and Busch Stadium again tonight with a start time of 715

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Chargers last night on “Thursday Night Football”.  The game was tied at 17 in the 4th quarter when the Chargers were a yard away from scoring.  Here’s the interception that changed the game in favor of the Chiefs.  Jaylen Watson ended up being the star of the show last night for the Thursday night Football. Watson was a seventh-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in this year’s draft. In the fourth quarter of a tie game, Watson picked off a Justin Herbert pass near the goal line and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown. That changed the entire game, as the Chiefs went on to a 27-24 win in a game that will loom large all season in the AFC West race. The game was expected to be a high-scoring one with two of the NFL’s most exciting quarterbacks, but both offenses struggled to score in the first half. The Chargers took a 10-0 lead, and the Chiefs answered with a nice sidearm touchdown pass (LINK) from Patrick Mahomes to Jerick McKinnon. Both offenses were fairly efficient, but there just weren’t that many big plays.

The Detroit Lions are currently being listed as the betting favorites for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commander, and it’s a big deal. The Lions a 2 1/2-point favorite against the Commanders at home and, if the line doesn’t move drastically and the Lions hold firm in that position, it would snap a 24-game streak of Detroit being an underdog, according to Caesars Sportsbook.  That streak is currently the longest that a team has been an underdog in the Super Bowl era, ESPN reported (LINK).  Detroit was last favored on Nov. 22, 2020. That day, they were a one-point favorite against the Carolina Panthers. But despite being favored in that contest, the Lions still lost 20-0 to a Panthers team that was quarterbacked by PJ Walker.  If the Lions break the streak, the New York Giants hold the second-longest mark as an underdog at 15 consecutive games, according to ESPN. However, the Giants are also being listed as 2 1/2-point favorites for their game against the Panthers on Sunday, per Caesars Sportsbook.

Some rich person just coughed up an unprecedented amount of money to cop a rare Michael Jordan jersey — unloading over $10 MILLION to acquire some of His Airness’ former threads!! The MJ jersey — one that the Chicago Bulls legend wore during Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals — went up for auction on Sept. 6 … and TMZ Sports has learned the gavel officially came down on the sale on Wednesday for a staggering $10,091,000. The number is shocking — considering experts at Sotheby’s (LINK), which hosted the auction, initially predicted it would sell for around $3 million. The eight-figure price tag, according to Sotheby’s, set multiple records — including most ever for a basketball jersey at auction, most ever for any game-worn sports memorabilia, and most ever paid for an MJ item. The jersey — while expensive — is pretty incredible … Jordan wore it when he scored 33 points against the Utah Jazz. And, while MJ lost the contest in the uni, he and the Bulls went on to win the series, giving Jordan his sixth

NBA championship. No word yet on who the buyer is — but something tells us they’ve got some deep pockets to put their new jersey in.

What is the longest home run ever hit? How far did it actually go? With the data we have, here’s the verdict on the longest home runs in baseball history:

Now remember Modern baseball includes countless tools for measuring exit velocity, launch angle and projected distance on home runs. However, for much of MLB history, there wasn’t even an exact way to determine the length of tape-measure home runs.

The longest verified home run in American professional baseball history didn’t even happen in the majors.

In 1987, Joey Meyer (LINK) of the Triple-A Denver Zephyrs launched a moonshot into the second deck of Mile High Stadium. City of Denver engineer Jerry Tennyson was able to verify the distance of the home run at 582 feet.

Determining the longest homer ever in MLB history is an exercise in myth-busting.

Babe Ruth was said to have hit a home run over 600 feet. A Mickey Mantle homer was originally estimated to have gone 734 feet. While those feats would shatter Meyer’s mark, there was no technology or tool that could give an exact measure of those distances.

Ruth, Mantle, Reggie Jackson, Willie Stargell and Adam Dunn have all hit blasts well past 500 feet in their careers. ESPN had a Home Run Tracker that was able to estimate the distance of certain dingers, but there is still no conclusive list of the longest homers throughout MLB history.

So What is the longest home run in recent MLB history?

In seven-plus seasons since Statcast’s inception which was in 2015, two home runs have traveled more than 500 feet. Here are the 12 longest dingers in the Statcast era:

  1. Nomar Mazara, TEX, 2019: 505 feet
Giancarlo Stanton (LINK), MIA, 2016: 504 feet
    3. Christian Yelich, MIL, 2022: 499 feet
    T-4. Aaron Judge, NYY, 2017: 496 feet
    T-4. Miguel Sanó, MIN, 2019: 496 feet
    T-4. Jesús Sánchez, MIA, 2022: 496 feet
    T-7. Aaron Judge, NYY, 2017: 495 feet
    T-7. Joey Gallo, TEX, 2018: 495 feet
T-7. Ronald Acuña Jr., ATL, 2020: 495 feet
    T-7. Miguel Sanó, MIN, 2021: 495 feet
    T-11. Michael A. Taylor, WAS, 2015: 493 feet
T-11. Gary Sánchez, NYY, 2017: 493 feet (LINK)
