Last Thursday, ALEC BALDWIN accidentally killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in New Mexico on the set of a Western movie called “Rust”, when a prop gun “misfired.” Director Joel Souza was also injured. That much we know and that is about all we know. Here are a few of bits of info…Alec posted on social media obviously distraught as a human can be. He actually had breakfast Saturday with her husband Matthew and 9 year old Andros. Alec also said he is canceling everything he currently has on the books to take some time to himself. Authorities say that the assistant director Dave Halls handed the gun to Alec moments before the shooting and said, quote, “Cold gun” meaning there are no cartridges . . . including blanks . . . inside the firearm. A “hot gun” indicates the weapon is loaded with cartridges, either live ammunition or blank rounds.. Halls hasn’t commented. That said, the first assistant director is supposed to personally verify whether a weapon is “hot” or “cold.” In addition to Halls, investigators are going to want to talk with Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was the movie’s “armorer.” That’s the person who’s responsible for managing all the firearms used on a film and is usually ultimately responsible for the weapons on set. It’s unclear exactly how everyone was positioned, but it sounds like they were rehearsing when the shot was fired. It’s possible that Alec’s character was aiming the gun toward the camera, where the cinematographer and director were. Director Joel Souza is expected to make a full recovery . . . and he’s already been released from the hospital. According to the “Los Angeles Times“, about half a dozen members of the camera crew on “Rust” had walked out hours before after protesting over working conditions on the set. Some issues were about long hours and long commutes . . . but at least one person complained about gun safety on the set.

The St. Louis Cardinals plan to hire Oliver Marmol as their new manager. Marmol, 35, served as bench coach the past two seasons and is extremely well-regarded within the organization. Buccaneers’ quarterback Tom Brady became the first quarterback in NFL history to reach 600 career touchdown passes in Sunday’s 38-3 rout of the Chicago Bears. It happened with 10 seconds left in the first quarter on a 9-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Mike Evans. Brady was greeted with a giant hug from coach Bruce Arians after the play, while Evans threw the ball to a fan in the stands, not realizing it was a record until Arians told him. Secondary….The Buccaneers improved to 6-1, the best start in franchise history.

Fans who were listening to the Ravens’ radio broadcast against the Bengals on Sunday afternoon were treated to a very strange moment late in the first quarter. During the Bengals’ third drive of the game, the color analyst interrupted the play-by-play call of his partner saying, “What—what, what, what are you doing? What are you doing?” Just over a minute later the play by play guy explained what happened. “If you were listening, you heard (color commentator) say ‘What are you doing? What are you doing?’ He was not talking to the players or coaches. We actually had a fan who was trying to climb into the broadcast booth. She said, ‘I’m a veteran and I’m looking for a drink.’” The Bengals whipped the crap out of the Ravens though…final score was 41—17.
The Texans expect to deal quarterback Deshaun Watson ahead of the league’s Nov. 2 trade deadline. Watson has a no-trade clause in his contract but would reportedly waive it if he was dealt to the Dolphins, a team that was linked to him earlier this week. It is unclear if he would waive it if the Texans made a deal with another team. After the Panthers’ loss 25-3 loss to the Giants that Carolina is expected to be involved in trade talks for Watson. The Texans have not played Watson this season and do not plan to play him. He is facing 22 civil lawsuits and 10 criminal complaints alleging sexual assault or sexual misconduct during sessions with various massage therapists in the Houston area.
