The NFL has proposed increasing its COVID-19 testing for vaccinated players as cases surge around the country and multiple teams deal with case clusters that have sidelined prominent players and coaches this summer. The league wants to move testing for vaccinated players to once every seven days from once every 14 days. Players who are not fully vaccinated would continue to be tested daily. The proposal requires approval from the NFL Players Association, which has been pushing for all players — vaccinated and unvaccinated — to be tested daily. As the two sides continue to work toward a blockbuster transfer, Real Madrid has reportedly sweetened its offer to PSG for star forward Mbappé. Reports are that Real has upped its bid for Mbappé to $212 million, and is optimistic that a deal will go through. The United States Tennis Association will make licensed mental health providers, as well as “quiet rooms,” available to players at this year’s US Open as part of the tournament’s medical services. It all has to do with a new mental health initiative. The tournament’s increased focus on mental health services comes in the wake of highly-publicized issues experienced by women’s tennis star Naomi Osaka. She opened up about her issues with depression and anxiety during a series of events that included her withdrawal from the French Open amid criticism over avoiding media obligations. Tensions were already high between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley, and yesterday things exploded. After the Paul vs. Woodley news conference, Woodley heard a member of Paul’s team talking trash to Woodley’s mother, who was sitting in the crowd. Woodley’s sister yelled back at the member of Paul’s camp. Woodley attempted to get through the crowd to his mother and the Paul team member, but he was held back.
