PETE DAVIDSON  turned 28 on Tuesday, and he celebrated it with KIM KARDASHIAN, her mom KRIS JENNER . . . and FLAVOR FLAV.   Mr. Flav, posted pictures (LINK) and called Pete his, quote, “adopted son.” Pete is also wearing Flavor Flav’s clock around his neck, and Flav said, quote, “I never took a clock off my neck to give to someone and you will be the last person I do this for . . . it lookz real good on you (LINK)”

What movie am I describing… an ex-Navy SEAL turned cook is the only person who can stop a group of terrorists when they seize control of a U.S. battleship.   A reboot 1992’s Steven Seagal action film “Under Siege” is in the works at Warner Bros. for HBO Max. The film also starred Tommy Lee jones and Gary Busey. It is currently unknown if anyone from the original will be involved. Andrew Davis directed the original, which grossed over $156 million at the worldwide box office. In 1995, a sequel followed, “Under Siege 2: Dark Territory,” which grossed over $104 million worldwide (LINK)

Remember all the backlash over the female “Ghostbusters” reboot in 2016? Many are saying the new one Afterlife is kinda making up for that trash. News flash. Over at RottenTomatoes.com (LINK), the 2016 “Ghostbusters” has a 74% score . . . while “Afterlife” is only at 66%. All the reviews of “Afterlife”, good and bad, seem to agree on one thing:  It’s as much an exercise in nostalgia as it is its own film.  Although these days, a lot of people see that as a GOOD thing.  “Afterlife” opens tomorrow.

I think rather ironically, Netflix is doing a new comedy series about that last Blockbuster store in Oregon.  RANDALL PARK is going to star in the 10-episode series.  It’ll be about, quote, “what it takes and who it takes for a small business to survive against all odds.” It’s going to take place at the ACTUAL last Blockbuster in Oregon.  Though, it’s not clear if it’s going to be filmed there or replicated in a studio. The writer behind the series is the same one who did “Superstore” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (LINK)

A bill called Rap Music on Trial bill would limit prosecutors’ ability to use rap lyrics against a rapper if he or she winds up in court. Like, if a rapper is accused of murder, you can’t use lyrics where he talks about murdering people against him, unless there’s clear proof that there’s, quote, “a literal, factual nexus between the creative expression and the facts of the case.” The senators sponsoring the bill used the example of the TALKING HEADS song “Psycho Killer”.  If, in some bizarre universe, DAVID BYRNE went on trial for murder, it would obviously be ludicrous to use that song as proof that he did it. But this sort of thing DOES happen to rappers.  And Senator Brad Hoylman says, quote, “Art is creative expression, not a blueprint of criminal plans.  It’s time to end the egregious bias . . . and protect the First Amendment rights of all artists (LINK)”

Brass Against and vocalist Sophia Urista “got carried away” when she peed on a willing fan at Welcome To Rockville, adding that it wouldn’t happen again. Now, Sophia Urine herself has come forward on social media to offer up an apology for the pee, writing Tuesday night “I have always pushed the limits in music and onstage. That night, I pushed the limits too far. I love my family, the band, and the fans more than anything and I know that some were hurt or offended by what I did. I apologize and want them to know that I didn’t mean to hurt them. I am not a shock artist. I always want to put the music first.” The Daytona Beach PD said its investigating Urista’s bladder blunder after someone filed a complaint.

Every year BROOKE SHIELDS brings a smoked brisket for her family to enjoy on Christmas Eve. Brooke said, quote, “We take meat . . . My husband smokes his own brisket, he makes his own dry rub.  And my family loves it the night before Christmas so we go through security with these big pieces of meat [in our carry-on].” She said it’s become so routine that the T.S.A. already knows to expect it.  Quote, “They’re like, ‘Did you bring the brisket?  You brought the brisket!’  The TSA guys now know.” Brooke said her husband smokes it for 12 hours and they wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and foil . . . not only to keep it fresh, but so the smell doesn’t travel around the plane. In related news, Brooke has a new Netflix movie called “A Castle for Christmas”.  It comes out on the 26th (LINK)

TOM HOLLAND has a major sleeping problem. He now experiences sleep paralysis, you know, when you’re awake but you can’t move. He even has a recurring sleep paralysis nightmare where the paparazzi is in his room snapping photos and there’s nobody there to protect him. Tom also sleepwalks . . . and he sometimes UNDRESSES.  Quote, “Four out of 10 sleeps I wake up completely naked”   To combat his sleep problems, he trained himself to recognize he’s in a dream and alter it . . . which is called lucid dreaming.  Quote, “So what you do is . . . and this is where it sounds stupid . . .”You set an alarm for every hour of the day when you’re awake.  When the alarm goes off, you read something . . . when you do it for a long time, you start to do that in your sleep (LINK)”

ELLE FANNING found an interesting way to prepare for a birthing scene on the upcoming season of her Hulu show “The Great”.  Although some people might think it’s kind of gross. She watched videos of her mom giving birth to her older sister DAKOTA FANNING. Elle couldn’t watch videos of her own birth, because they don’t exist.  Quote, “I was born during a tornado, so they couldn’t video when I was born because the hospital was in lockdown.” Season 2 of “The Great” premieres on Hulu on November 19th (LINK)

The Blues looks to rebound tonight against the Sharks.  They are coming off a 3-2 loss against the Coyotes.  The Blues and Sharks have almost identical records.  Puck drop from Enterprise Center is at 7PM tonight.

Last night the MLB gave out its honors to the top pitcher from both leagues.  In the NL – Brewer Corbin Burnes beat out Zack Wheeler from the Phillies and the Dodgers Max Scherzer.  In the 4th closest results in Cy Young history – Burnes beat out Wheeler by 10 points.  Over in the AL –  Robbie Ray was the clear winner.  The Blue Jay picked up 29 of the 30 first place votes of Garret Cole and Lance Lynn.  Today, the NL and AL MVP is announced.

The Houston Astros and right-hander Justin Verlander have agreed to a one-year, $25 million contract with a player option for a second season. Verlander won the American League Cy Young Award for Houston in 2019 but made just one appearance during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season because of elbow troubles. He had surgery to repair an ulnar collateral ligament Sept. 30, 2020, and missed all of the 2021 season, his last before the end of his contract with the Astros.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was sent home by the team today due to illness. The quarterback has not tested positive for COVID-19. Starting center Bradley Bozeman is also dealing with a non-COVID-19 sickness and will also not practice today. Harbaugh did not sound overly concerned about the two key players’ statuses moving forward. “It’s that time of year, we’ve got some sickness,” Harbaugh said. “Lamar and Bozeman are both sick, so you won’t see them out there today. They got sent home. It’s not COVID, it’s just sick.”

A judge on Wednesday ordered former Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III to appear before her on Monday after learning he missed a required alcohol test while on house arrest following a fatal crash. Ruggs’ lawyers said that Ruggs “self-tested” negative shortly after missing one of his calls for a breath test last week. The alcohol-monitoring agency noted that it “cannot confirm Mr. Ruggs’ sobriety during this point in time,” and said his attorney provided an updated phone number for text notifications for Ruggs’ remote breath tests.

Former NFL running back Zac Stacy brutally attacked the mother of his child, punching her in the head before slamming her into a television as their 5-month-old son sat feet away … and the terrifying incident was captured on video. Stacy became furious and aggressive with his ex during an argument … and that’s when video shows the former 5th-round pick swinging at her head before yanking her off a couch, tossing her across the room and into the TV. The TV then falls on top of the woman as she tries to calm Stacy down … but he throws an object at her and storms into a corner. We’re told the woman called cops immediately after the altercation, but Stacy fled the scene before law enforcement was able to arrive. Stacy’s ex says the RB said “I love you” to their baby boy, and bolted. Stacy was drafted out of Vanderbilt by St. Louis in 2013 … and played 2 seasons for the Rams. He joined the New York Jets in 2015 … and has been out of the league ever since.

The Big 12 issued a public reprimand of the Texas Tech football radio announcers for their call of Saturday’s 41-38 home win over Iowa State. Play-by-play host Brian Jensen and analyst John Harris were critical of the officials during the game, going so far as to list off individual names.  After officials overturned an apparent interception in the fourth quarter, the Texas Tech announcers were apoplectic. “I’ll say it right now, the Big 12 does not want Iowa State to lose this game,” Harris said. “Yeah, Bob Bowlsby, you need to answer to this,” Jensen added. “This is ridiculous. The inconsistency of this referee crew in favor of Iowa State. Unbelievable.” Texas Tech students began throwing trash on the field after the interception was overturned. The officials gave an unsportsmanlike conduct call to the Red Raiders, and the students were ordered to vacate two sections and leave the stadium. Jensen declared he had never seen anything like this officiating performance. “The Big 12 should be embarrassed,” he said. “The Big 12 should be embarrassed with this group. We’ve only pointed out two guys. I’m gonna read ’em all to you.” Jensen then proceeded to name on air every member of the crew.

Michigan State is preparing a $95 million, 10-year contract extension for football coach Mel Tucker. The deal would make Tucker the highest-paid Black head coach in American sports. If Tucker and the Spartans come to an agreement, the 49-year-old would also become the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten. In college football, only Alabama’s Nick Saban ($9.753 million) will make more this season than Tucker would under the reported contract extension.

The NCAA announced Wednesday that the women’s basketball tournament will move to a 68-team field, up from 64, starting this season.  The last four at-large teams and teams seeded 65 through 68 will compete in the opening-round games prior to the start of the first and second rounds of the championship, which begin March 18-19. The top 16 seeds will host first- and second-round games. For the 2022 tournament, the four new opening-round games will be held at four of those 16 sites. Starting in 2023, the opening round will be held at a neutral site to be determined. The men’s tournament went to 68 teams in 2011, resulting in the First Four, which precedes the start of first-round play. The men’s First Four has been played in Dayton, Ohio, every season except in 2021, when due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was held in Indiana along with the rest of the men’s tournament.

Koray Aldemir won the World Series of Poker Main Event on Wednesday, winning heads-up over George Holmes. Aldemir entered the day as the chip leader, and though he was pushed by Holmes, he held on to earn his first WSOP gold bracelet. The 31-year-old Germany native, who now resides in Austria, took home a prize of $8 million dollars.
