He was just attacked on stage but DAVE CHAPPELLE did a secret show at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles Thursday night. And he was joined onstage by CHRIS ROCK. Dave told Chris, quote, “At least you got smacked by someone of repute! I got smacked by a homeless guy with leaves in his hair.” And Rock replied, quote, “I got smacked by the softest [N-word] that ever rapped.” Dave also said he convinced security to let him confront his attacker, 23-year-old Isaiah Lee. He said the guy appeared to be mentally ill. When Dave asked Lee why he attacked him, he said his grandmother had been forced out of her Brooklyn neighborhood by gentrification, and he wanted to call attention to that. Chappelle ended the show by addressing DIDDY, who was in the audience. He said, quote, “I am in the [place] where you sat in the car with Biggie Smalls as he died. I hate this city” (LINK)
We are going to have to wait a bit longer to see WILL SMITH on the screen POST-SLAP. His movie “Emancipation” with Apple was supposed to come out this fall, but it’s been pushed to 2023. It was expected to be Apple’s next award-winning film after the success of “CODA”. Earlier this year an unnamed filmmaker even suggested it could bring Will “back-to-back” Oscar wins. Apparently, the release date delay isn’t totally because of Will. The movie is still in post-production and might not even be ready for the fall regardless. The movie also includes BEN FOSTER from “The Survivor”. It’s about a runaway slave (LINK)
Fred Savage has been fired from The Wonder Years reboot after an investigation into accusations of alleged inappropriate behavior. He had been the voice of Honda for a few years and he no longer is. Not sure if it has anything to do with this. Savage played Kevin Arnold in the show’s original 1980s run. He was serving as the reboot’s executive producer and director. Details on these latest accusations haven’t been made public but this isn’t the first time accusations of inappropriate behavior have been made toward Savage. In 2018, he was accused of creating a “hostile work environment” for women but the suit was later dropped.

Fiddling with pitch after pitch to find elusive command, Dakota Hudson walked two of the first three batters he faced but slipped free from the inning when he used the sinking pitch that sets him apart to get a double play. The second inning began like the first, with another walk, but there was no escape. Four walks caught up with him, cost him control of the game, misplaced the Cardinals’ lead, cut short his start and began a cascade that pooled into a 4-3 loss to the Giants at Oracle Park. They play the Orioles tomorrow in town at 6:45pm (LINK)
Known to locals as “Baseball Heaven,” Busch Stadium is now being praised among the top sports venues in the country. A crowdsourced sports gambling advice platform, released its 2022 USA Stadium Report earlier this week. The report ranks Busch Stadium as the fifth-best professional sports venue in the country and third best among MLB ballparks. Research teams released the rankings after compiling data, such as online stadium searches and reviews through Google, Facebook, Yelp and Tripadvisor. The report ranked stadiums based on the average rating from those four platforms. Busch Stadium III, which has served as the home of the St. Louis Cardinals since 2006, finished with an average rating of 4.68/5. That average includes a 4.8/5 rating or higher from Google and Facebook reviews. According to the report, nearly 415,000 searches are made online each year for the stadium, the 64th most among US pro sports venues. So which ones beat our beloved Busch Stadium? Only Pittsburgh’s PNC Park and Baltimore’s Camden Yards finished with higher average ratings among MLB homes, both of which earned a score of 4.78/5. Lambeau Field, home of the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, finished with the best overall rating of 4.93/5. Another Missouri sports venue, Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, finished fourth overall, just ahead of Busch Stadium with a 4.75/5 rating. For the full rankings, click here (LINK) (LINK)
