Steven Andrew Walker is the man who sold the laced pills that killed Mac Miller. Walker told a judge, “I was charged with selling blue pills, little blue counterfeit oxycontin pills … and I didn’t know what was in them. I didn’t know, like, fentanyl was in it. But I do say, yes, that I aided and abetted the transaction.” Prosecutors say Walker did know about the fentanyl in the pills. Walker and Ryan Michael Reavis both pled guilty to one felony count of distributing fentanyl. Both men will have sentencing hearings next year. They face up to 20 years in jail, lifetime supervised release, and a $1 million fine. Miller died of an accidental drug overdose on September 7th, 2018.
PETA named BILLIE EILISH as their 2021 Person of the Year for her efforts in encouraging fashion designers to stop using real animal fur and by going vegan. PETA’s president said, quote.”PETA is happier than ever to celebrate her for pushing the fashion industry toward its sustainable vegan future.” Billie’s other efforts include a vegan Air Jordan shoe collection with Nike, executive producing a vegan documentary called “They’re Trying to Kill Us”, coming out with a vegan fragrance, and a vegan milk chocolate bar (LINK)
A new HBO documentary drops today called “Listening to Kenny G“ . . . and it includes comments from his haters, who say stuff like his music is boring, it’s commercial garbage, and even the worst thing to ever happen to jazz. But Kenny is cool with that. He told TMZ, quote, “I’ve been hearing all of that since the ’80s, so it didn’t bother me a bit.” The director actually sent Kenny an email BEFORE sending him the movie to watch, and said he probably wouldn’t like the first 12 minutes . . . but it’s cool because, quote, “at the end, you end up winning.” Kenny added, quote, “If that affected me, I probably wouldn’t have continued my career, so I know what I do, I know how much I practice . . . You know, when Miles Davis says he likes what I’m doing, and Clive Davis says he likes what I’m doing . . . If a critic doesn’t like it, well, I wouldn’t put too much into that.”
You can stay in the house from “Home Alone” and live like a McCallister thanks to a listing from Airbnb (LINK). But here’s the catch . . . only one night is being offered. On the plus side, it’s only 25 bucks for four people. The reservation listing (LINK) will open on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Eastern to book for December 12th. Just like in the movie, the house is located in the suburbs of Chicago. You’ll get to set booby traps, have some of Chicago’s finest pizza, meet Buzz’s tarantula, and watch the newest film in the franchise, “Home Sweet Home Alone”. Oh, and you also get a “Home Alone” LEGO set. Airbnb will also be making a one-time donation to a Chicago area Children’s Hospital.
Love “Golden Girls”? Well there’s going to be a first-ever fan gathering called “Golden Con: Thank You for Being a Fan” next year. It’ll take place in Chicago during the weekend of April 22nd. Organizers are “working diligently” to get the last Golden Girl standing, BETTY WHITE, to appear in some capacity. She’ll be 100 by the time convention rolls around, and she hasn’t been seen publicly in a while, so it’s hard to believe she’d show up in person. But there will be, quote, “guest stars, producers, and others directly connected with the show” . . . plus a lineup of activities like a “Greatest Gift” vendor market, photo-ops, live parody shows, and a costume parade. Tickets will go on sale at the beginning of the year at ThankYouForBeingAFan.com (LINK).
Does anyone think there is too much WILL SMITH and JADA PINKETT in their life? A guy named Dexter Morales started an online petition (LINK) titled “Stop interviewing Will and Jada Smith!” And as of last night, it was close to hitting its 10K goal, with 9,400 signatures. Dexter didn’t explain why he started the petition. His only comment on the page is “Poor Will Smith.” But plenty of people have added their two cents. One person summed it up perfectly: “Everything I learn about this couple is against my will. Free us.” Someone else said, quote, “Attention seeking is a mental illness and they need to get help.”
I cant think of a celebrity that we talk about too much…anyway Happy ThursDAVE Dave Grohl and Greg Kursten are celebrating the holidays with the return of their Hannukah Sessions, celebrating iconic Jewish musical acts during the festival of lights. Grohl and Kursten wrote “Quite possibly the loudest and proudest of hard-rocking Jews, David Lee Roth has gone on record crediting his Bar Mitzvah preparation as his earliest vocal training. He became a rockstar the day he became a man!” Night four pays tribute to Van Halen’s first frontman, “Diamond Dreidel” David Lee Roth with a cover of “Jump”.

Major League Baseball locked out its players early this morning, starting the game’s first work stoppage in more than 25 years after months of talks have gone nowhere. The anticipated lockout, which the league told the players’ union it would initiate once the collective bargaining agreement expired after 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, ends the transaction frenzy that proceeded it. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred expressed disappointment but says this is the best move to save the 2022 season. During a lockout, which is a labor-relations tool used by management to keep employees from working until a deal is agreed upon, team officials and players cannot communicate in any way. Major league free agency and trades of players on 40-man rosters end immediately. The major league portion of baseball’s winter meetings have been canceled, though they will continue on the minor league side. The final meeting between the two sides yesterday lasted a total of seven minutes.
BEFORE the lockout however – Marcus Stroman rushed to the airport and caught a flight from LA to Chicago as soon as he got the word from his agent. The right-hander arrived just in time, agreeing to a three-year contract that sources say is for $71 million. And the Cubs landed one of the top remaining starting pitchers on the free-agent market on Wednesday. The deal includes an opt-out after the second season. Stroman will make $25 million in 2022, $25 million in 2023 and $21 million in 2024, and the deal includes $2 million escalators for reaching 160 innings pitched in ’22 and ’23, sources said.
Also – the San Diego Padres have signed right hand pitcher Luis Garcia to a two year deal. Garcia pitched for the Cardinals this year and didn’t have the greatest of years, but he showed incredible potential and dominated in the minors. The Padres signed him to a 2 year $7 million dollar deal.
Tonight in the NFL it’s the Cowboys vs the Saints in New Orleans. The Saints are 5-6 and the Cowboys are 7-4. Dallas has lost 3 straight road games to the Saints. Kick off is scheduled at 7:20PM.
UFC president Dana White tested positive for COVID-19 this week and is currently in isolation in his Las Vegas home. White, 52, said he and his immediate family tested positive after spending the Thanksgiving holiday together in Maine. White resides in Las Vegas, but was born in the Northeast and frequently visits his estate in Maine. White confirmed on the podcast that he is vaccinated, and said he consulted his close friend Joe Rogan for advice after his diagnosis. The UFC president said he is already feeling better and wants to attend a UFC Fight Night event on Saturday in Las Vegas if he is able to test negative.
Following the abrupt departure of longtime head coach Brian Kelly, Notre Dame may have found its next leader. The Irish are expected to offer defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman the head coaching position. The offer has not yet been finalized, but it is expected to come in the next few days. An official announcement could come as early as this weekend. Freeman, 35, joined the Notre Dame staff before the 2021 season after spending the previous four years as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Cincinnati. Before that, he was the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Purdue.
