In a new profile for “Vanity Fair“, Gisele Bundchen says Tom Brady’s unretirement ISN’T what broke them up. At least it wasn’t the ONLY thing. Quote, “Wow, people really made it about that. What’s been said is one piece of a much bigger puzzle. It’s not so black and white . . . [it] takes years to happen.” She adds, quote, “Sometimes you grow together; sometimes you grow apart.” Gisele also denies that POLITICS broke them up. Here’s something else that didn’t cause the split: The jiu-jitsu instructor. Quote, “I think, at this point, unfortunately, because I’m divorced, I’m sure that they’re going to try to attach me to anything. “He’s our teacher and, most importantly, he’s a person that I admire and that I trust.”
How old is TOO old to be driving? 97-year-old Dick Van Dyke crashed into a block wall and a gate last Wednesday in Malibu, California. He was driving by himself. He said he lost control because the road was wet from all the L.A. rain. Sources say drugs and alcohol were NOT involved. Dick’s injuries were minor . . . he was found bleeding from his nose and mouth and might have suffered a concussion. Paramedics treated him at the scene, but he refused to be taken to the hospital. Police allegedly asked the DMV to give Dick a driving retest because of his age, but that hasn’t been confirmed. (TMZ, LA Times)
“Rick and Morty” co–creator Justin Roiland is in the clear. Domestic violence charges against him have been dropped due to, quote, “insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.” Roiland posted a message on Twitter saying, quote, “I’m thankful that this case has been dismissed but, at the same time, I’m still deeply shaken by the horrible lies that were reported about me during this process. “Most of all, I’m disappointed that so many people were so quick to judge without knowing the facts.” He added that he’s determined to move forward on his creative projects, and hopes to restore his reputation. After Justin was charged in January, he was bounced from “Rick and Morty”, along with two Hulu shows, “Solar Opposites” and “Koala Man”.
Neil Patrick Harris is bringing Barney back. Barney Stinson had a brief cameo at the beginning of this season of Hulu’s “How I Met your Father” when Sophie crashed into his car. And he’ll appear again on the midseason finale next week. There’s no word yet on plot details. After next week’s two-part finale, the show is off for a few weeks, before returning for the rest of its second season on May 23rd. Neil played Barney on “How I Met Your Mother”, which aired for nine seasons. The role earned him four Emmy nominations. (Variety)
If You think YOUR mom’s annoying? Jewel would like you to kindly PUT A SOCK IN IT. At least your mom didn’t steal $100 MILLION from you. (???) She says, quote, “I didn’t really realize what my mom was until I was 30-something. I woke up and realized she embezzled all of my money, over $100 million.” “Thirty-four years old, realize I’m $3 million in debt, realize my mom stole it, realize everything I thought my mom was, isn’t what she was, very difficult psychological thing to come to terms with.” Jewel is 48 now. Her parents split up when she was 8, and she lived with her dad. He was abusive . . . but what she didn’t realize at the time is that the reason she lived with him was because her mom, quote, “didn’t want to be a mom.” (Page Six)
In retrospect, Paul McCartney did just fine after the Beatles broke up. But it wasn’t a totally seamless transition. In fact, it was a pretty uncertain time for him. He says, quote, “I didn’t know what to do with myself, and trying something new was really risky.” He adds that the Beatles were, quote, “a hard act . . . some might say, an impossible act . . . to follow.” The solution was to go back to “square one” with Wings . . . hitting the road in a van and playing small gigs until he “earned his fame” again. He adds, quote, “By the time the mid-’70s came around when we were doing a big American tour, that was the vindication of it . . . The risk paid off.” (People)
