Halloween Kills is available to watch at home, but still won the box office in its first weekend in theaters at about $51 million. Expectations were around 30 million. It is also available on-demand via Peacock. No Time to Die, made another $24 million after an underwhelming $56 million opening weekend landing at No. 2. The Last Duel all but bombed in its opening weekend and finished at number five. With $4.8 million in three days, the film’s positive reviews and strong cast — Jodie Comer, Matt Damon, Adam Driver, and Ben Affleck — weren’t enough to attract the crowds.
Rami Malek hosted, Young Thug was musical guest, there was a surprise visit from Daniel Craig, Malek and Pete Davidson impersonated each other in the same skit, Colin Jost did a little actual acting and all of this translated to I believe, the lowest rated SNL ever. 3.4 household rating. And apparently no Kate McKinnon again. Also, Aidy Bryant just signed a deal with Universal TV (LINK)
They have been dating for all of 2021 so it makes sense that Kourtney Kardashian and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker are engaged…Slow clapping in the background is SEAN PENN who got married last August to an actress named LEILA GEORGE. UPDATE…Leila filed for divorce on Friday . . . after just over a year of wedded bliss. There’s no word what broke them up, but age could have easily been a factor. Sean is 61, and Leila is 29. That makes her a year younger than Sean’s own daughter Dylan, who’s 30. He also has a son named Hopper who’s 28. Sean is also just a year younger than Leila’s dad, actor VINCENT D’ONOFRIO, from “Men in Black”, “Full Metal Jacket”, and “Jurassic World” (LINK)
When you have extreme in the title of your show and a 911 call airs before the first episode that aint good. A contestant on “America’s Got Talent: Extreme” almost DIED taping a stunt. I believe it was just a practice too. Stuntman Jonathan Goodwin was strapped in a straight jacket and suspended upside down 70 feet in the air. There was a car on either side of him that were rigged to swing toward him, crushing him between them. Goodwin was supposed to free himself and fall onto an airbag below before the cars could hit him. He did free himself, but just a second too late. He got sandwiched between the cars, which were rigged with an explosive that went off on impact. And when he fell, he hit his head on the ground. Goodwin underwent surgery, and at last report, he was still in critical condition in the trauma ward. There’s no word on the extent of his injuries. He’s 41 years old. Filming on “AGT: Extreme” has been temporarily halted (LINK)

“Stranger Things” scored exactly 50%, with “Survivor” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” following a bit behind.

As calls for improved playing conditions and compensation grow louder, Major League Baseball has reportedly taken a big step improving the lives of minor league baseball players. League owners have unanimously approved a plan that would have teams provide housing for all minor league players across all levels. The details of the plan are still unclear, and it’s not yet known whether teams will merely provide stipends to cover living costs or set up housing themselves. Minor league players across the sport have been outspoken at the inadequate working conditions, from housing responsibilities and salaries that are below a livable wage.
Ed Orgeron said he had a great run and has no regrets as he prepares to finish his final season as coach at LSU. Orgeron and the university said Sunday that he will step aside after the season, an announcement that came less than 24 hours after the Tigers upset No. 20 Florida to improve to 4-3. As part of the agreement, LSU will pay Orgeron the remaining $16.95 million left on his contract. In 2019, he led LSU to a 15-0 record and the national championship. Orgeron won nearly every national coach of the year award that year. After 13 players, and 3 coaches left for the NFL, LSU has since gone 9-8. That was enough for the school and the coach to come to agreement, that this is it. He’s going to stay on as coach through the end of the year.
Conor McGregor is being accused – again – of an unprovoked attack after a DJ claims the fighter punched him in the face and broke his nose. Italian DJ Francesco Facchinetti claims he and his wife were hanging out and partying with McGregor and his fiancee in Rome at around 2:30 am Sunday and things were cool – until McGregor allegedly punched him. Facchinetti says McGregor’s attack was completely “unprovoked” and there were ten witnesses who saw the attack. The DJ also posted a video showing his injuries and said “I took a punch for nothing. That punch could go to anyone. My friends, my wife, or other friends. That’s why I’ve decided to sue Conor McGregor because he is a violent and dangerous person.” McGregor’s camp hasn’t commented on the allegations.
Rory McIlroy capped off a big weekend in Las Vegas on Sunday by surging past Rickie Fowler and holding off Collin Morikawa to win the CJ Cup at Summit for his 20th PGA Tour title. McIlroy made a 35-foot eagle putt from just off the green on the par-5 14th and then played mistake-free down the stretch for a 6-under 66. McIlroy is the 39th player to win at least 20 times on the PGA Tour, and it’s his fifth straight PGA Tour season with at least one win.
For the first time, the Chicago Sky have won the WNBA title with their 80-74 Game 4 victory over Phoenix on Sunday. Parker, who grew up in Naperville, Illinois, starred at Tennessee where she won two NCAA titles and then was the No. 1 draft pick, MVP and Rookie of the Year in 2008. It took until 2016 for her to win her first WNBA title, with the Sparks, but she decided earlier this year to leave the only WNBA team she had played for and come home as a free agent. Kahleah Copper went on to be named WNBA Finals MVP. The Sky, who joined the WNBA as an expansion team in 2006, became the 10th franchise to win a league title, doing so in the WNBA’s silver anniversary season. Chicago did it despite a 16-16 regular season record; at No. 6 the Sky are the lowest seed to win the championship since the WNBA went to its current playoff format in 2016.
