Willie Garson (LINK), best known for his role as Stanford Blatch, Carrie Bradshaw’s best friend on Sex and the City, has died. He was 57. He was born in  Highland Park, N.J. Early on it was Cheers, Family Ties, The X-Files, Twin Peaks, Quantum, Leap, Monk, Ally McBeal and Friends. In 1996  he joined the cast of NYPD Blue in the role of Henry Coffield for seven episodes. In 1998, he took on what would become one of his most prominent television roles as Stanford Blatch in Sex and the City.  Most recently, he did voice work for Big Mouth and had a recurring role on Supergirl from 2019-20. In the movies… KingPin, There’s Something About Mary and Fever Pitch. His other film credits included Soapdish, Groundhog Day and Being John Malkovich.

CASSANDRA PETERSON…ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK just released a memoir called “Yours Cruelly, Elvira”.  And the info we all wanted is right there…She’s been in a 19-year relationship with . . . A WOMAN. She met Teresa “T” Wierson at the Gold’s Gym in Hollywood. And firdt impressions being what they are…when she first saw Theresa, she thought she was a super hot GUY.  “He” was tan, tattooed, and muscular, and gave off such “intense energy” that when “he” walked into the room the “waters parted,” and everyone stopped and stared. It wasn’t until Elvira ran into “him” in the ladies’ room that she realized “he” was SHE.  They became good friends . . . platonically at first. But then Elvira’s marriage ended.  And Teresa was just getting out of a relationship, too. And they proceeded to help each other cope with their breakups. Then one night they went to a movie together, and Elvira suddenly realized she wanted to HIT THAT.  She kept the relationship quiet all these years to protect the Elvira character . . . but obviously, she’s ready to live her truth now. She also confirms the old rumor that TOM JONES put her in the hospital with his junk. On a more somber note, she says NBA legend WILT CHAMBERLAIN forced her to give him oral sex.  Quote, “When a 7-foot-1, 300-pound man has his hand wrapped around your neck, there’s really not a lot you can do.” Wilt once boasted that he’d slept with 20,000 women . . . and Elvira now wonders how many of those encounters were non-consensual. DAVID HARBOUR’s “Stranger Things” character starts the upcoming fourth season in a Russian prison.  So he had to drop some serious pounds to look the part. Here’s the super-secret method he used to lose the weight.  “It’s just not eating.” He adds, quote, “It’s amazing.  You try to do all these different things, the protein and the this and that, and then you just stop eating and you lost weight.” New season of  “Stranger Things”…”It’s the best season.  It’s just such an incredible season, the most epic thing we’ve ever done.  It’s huge.” (LINK)

DANIEL CRAIG said goodbye to James Bond with his last performance in “No Time to Die”, which will hit theaters October 8th. But one thing Daniel doesn’t want to see when it comes to the next Bond is a female Bond.  But not because he’s a sexist pig. He says, quote, “There should simply be better parts for women and actors of color . . . Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?” This pretty much echoes the thoughts of longtime Bond producer Barbara Broccoli.  A few years ago she said, quote, “We don’t have to turn male characters into women.  Let’s just create more female characters and make the story fit those female characters.” (LINK)

Jeff Bezos (LINK) has pledged $1 billion towards conservation projects with an emphasis on the Congo Basin, tropical Andes, and the tropical Pacific Ocean. He plans to give $1 billion in donations beginning now through the year 2030 as a part of his $10 billion plan to tackle climate change. Bezos — who has a net worth of $195.4 billion (LINK), making him the richest man on the planet — revealed his organization Bezos Earth Fund has joined the international 30×30 Initiative (LINK) to “protect and conserve 30 percent of land and sea by 2030.. “Nature is our life support system and it’s fragile.

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor has said he has proof that he did tracks for MGK and Mr K loved them. Though though K has said publicly they were trash. Here is the proof…Emails from Travis Barker with notes from MGK saying he loved what Taylor sent them.  MGK wrote that Taylor “f***ing killed it” and that he’s “stoked” and “honored” to have the Slipknot frontman on his album. After Barker and MGK asked if Taylor would record some additional parts, Taylor responded “So I listened to the ideas, and to be honest, I don’t think I’m the right guy for the track. Nothing personal, I just think if this is what MGK is looking for, someone else is the guy to do it. It’s all good and I’m stoked for him — I hope you guys find the right fit for it. Hope you understand and I wish you guys the best with it. If I can help in any way, let me know.”

The FUGEES are going on tour for the first time in 25 years, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1996 album “The Score”.  LAURYN HILL, WYCLEF JEAN, and PRAS MICHEL haven’t performed together since the 2005 “BET Awards”. The first show is actually happening TONIGHT at an “undisclosed location” in New York City, in support of Global Citizen Live (LINK).  And for fans in St Louis you can see the first show of the tour Nov 2nd… because Chicago isn’t that far away (LINK)

On Monday night, the ROLLING STONES played their first gig since CHARLIE WATTS’ death at a private event hosted by New England Patriots owner ROBERT KRAFT. And MICK JAGGER kicked it off with a tribute to Charlie. Then RONNIE WOOD said, quote, “Charlie we’re praying for you, man . . . and playing for you!”   The Stones officially relaunch their No Filter Tour on Sunday in St. Louis.

For the first time since 2001…the St. Louis Cardinals have now officially won 10 games in a row.   Yesterday the team picked up a 2-1 win against the Brewers in Milwaukee.  Jake Woodford picked up the win and Giovanni Gallegos got the save.  Today, the two teams are back at it…Miles Mikolas gets the start.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:40PM.  As it stands right now, the Cardinals are a full 4 games ahead in the Wild Card.

Columbus Blue Jackets winger Zac Rinaldo won’t attend the team’s training camp because he has yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The team said that all 67 players at the team’s camp will be vaccinated. Rinaldo is still entitled to receive a $300,000 salary despite starting the 2021-22 season in the AHL.  During a rally for the People’s Party of Canada last week, Rinaldo voiced his criticism of vaccine passports, saying he was “not anti-vax” or “anti-mask” but “pro-choice.” On Sept. 2, the NHL released its COVID-19 protocols for the upcoming season. Although players aren’t required to get vaccinated, those who are unvaccinated are subject to stricter rules off the ice. One of the biggest aspects of the protocols pertains to entry into Canada. Players aren’t exempt from the country’s travel restrictions, so unvaccinated parties may be barred from entering or subject to quarantine procedures when they arrive.

Ben Simmons will not report to 76ers training camp next week ahead of the 2021-22 season.  Simmons is reportedly willing to hold out through the regular season if necessary until he is traded. The three-time All-Star “intends to never play another game for the franchise.” Simmons reportedly spoke with 76ers management in August and said he no longer wants to remain with the franchise.  His request came following a disastrous second-round loss to the Hawks in the 2021 playoffs, a series in which Simmons averaged just 9.9 points per game and shot 33.3% from the field.   If this gets into the regular season – he could get suspended and looking at losing almost $225K PER GAME.

Sharp-shooting guard JJ Redick announced his retirement from the NBA on Tuesday, putting an end to a 15-year professional career.  Redick retires after spending last season with the Pelicans and Mavericks, having played just 44 total games. Redick was drafted No. 11 by the Magic in the 2006 NBA draft, having previously had a successful college career at Duke. He spent the first six full seasons of his career with Orlando before being traded midway through his seventh year to the Bucks. Redick later spent time with the Clippers, 76ers and Pelicans.  He led the NBA in three-point shooting in the 2015-6 season. Seven times throughout his career he shot more than 40% from behind the arc.

Former MMA champion Conor McGregor has tried his hand in boxing in recent years, but it’s safe to say he won’t be a major league pitcher any time soon. McGregor was at Wrigley Field on Tuesday before the Cubs-Twins game to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Things didn’t go great.  It looked like the McGregor tried to run a cutter but overcooked it fired it wildly wide.

The US Women’s National Soccer team played Paraguay last Thursday and won 9-0.  The two teams met again yesterday where things were a little bit of a different story.  The US only won 8-0 this time.  Alex Morgan scored a hat-trick and it was complete domination from start to finish.  The US team will play South Korea in a month
