Former “Bachelor” COLTON UNDERWOOD came out yesterday, during an interview with ROBIN ROBERTS on “Good Morning America”. And he told her, quote, “I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been in my life.” Colton was the Bachelor in 2019, but he admits he’s known since he was a freshman in high school. He’s spent most of his life either fighting it or denying it. In fact, actor comedian Billy Eichner gave Colton a heads up back in 2019 on that very topic(AUDIO). So he was on the Batchelor and unless they changed the format to more of a catch all he was matched with females. Emotions get involved. He misled them. Especially applies to the woman he ended up choosing, CASSIE RANDOLPH. They had a pretty nasty breakup. He apologized (AUDIO) Cassie hasn’t commented, but a source says she’s “still processing” the news. Colton was famous for being the VIRGIN Bachelor, and now we know why he’d never had sex. Colton is currently working on a Netflix series to document his new “journey”.

Netflix is mentioned 38% of the time when people are asked who is offering the best original programming, meaning they are number 1 per the Wall Street. On the 2021 survey, 12% of respondents said Amazon Prime offers the best original programming, followed by Disney Plus Hulu and HBOMAX which each scored 6%-7% of total responses. The average U.S. household now pays for 2.5 streaming-video services — up from 2.3 in 2020 Netflix customers said their reasons were “broad selection of content” (55%), “good original programming” (51%), “adds content I like” (49%) and “no commercials” (46%). In 2021, Netflix is projected to spend about $19 billion on content. points)
The site HighSpeedInternet.com set out to determine the most popular Netflix shows in every country. To do it, they used unofficial data from Google and Flix Patrol, a third-party Netflix search engine. They only included titles released over the past 10 years . . . and they didn’t bother with countries with incomplete data. The top show in the U.S. and Canada is “Schitt’s Creek”. In Mexico, people are searching for “Stranger Things” more than any other title. That show is also #1 in 14 other countries, including Turkey, Peru, Greece, Hungary, Hong Kong, Guatemala, and Finland. “Peaky Blinders” was the most popular show in 24 countries, including France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Iceland, New Zealand, Sweden, and Egypt. It’s a British drama, but it didn’t win its home country. Netflix users in the U.K. are more likely to search for the women’s wrestling show “GLOW”.
The original “Toxic Avenger” was well beyond an R rating. But the upcoming remake probably won’t be quite as gory or irreverent. Especially now that the kid from that movie “Room” has joined the cast. JACOB TREMBLAY is 14 now, and he’ll be 15 in October. That’s around the age that a lot of kids came home from the local video store with a copy of “The Toxic Avenger” back in the ’80s. But the fact that he’s in it in the first place could suggest a lighter, more polished tone. Then again, Jacob already did a pretty racy R-rated comedy called “Good Boys” back in 2019. The only other confirmed cast member is PETER DINKLAGE. There’s no word who either of them is playing.
Food Network chef and TV host Guy Fieri helped raise $25 million for restaurant workers struggling during the pandemic. The Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host partnered with the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund, along with 50 other companies, to collect 15,000 individual donations. 43,000 restaurant workers across all fifty states have received $500 grants through the fund. (AUDIO) Mr. Fieri said he got the opportunity to meet a recipient
KYRA SEDGWICK was on “The Drew Barrymore Show” yesterday, and it was awkward . . . like every interview on that show. But Kyra also told a story about why she’s BANNED from TOM CRUISE’s house. Maybe not officially . . . but she was invited once, and she’s never been asked back. She and her husband KEVIN BACON went there for dinner 30 years ago. At one point, she wandered over to the fireplace, and noticed that there was a BUTTON under the mantle. She pushed it . . . because she “thought something interesting might happen.” But nothing happened. So, she got nervous. So she told Tom that she pushed the button . . . and he told her it was the PANIC BUTTON. The cops came . . . and interrupted a screening Tom was having. It doesn’t sound like Tom said anything else to Kyra, and she’s never been back to his place.
MICK JAGGER probably has a million awesome stories. But it sounds like we’re never going to hear them, because he’s not interested in writing an autobiography. He tried once, and he got bored. He says, quote, “I think in the ’80s I started it and I was offered a lot of money. The money was the seductive part of it! “So when I actually started to get into it I really didn’t enjoy it . . . reliving my life, to the detriment of living in the now . . . “It was all simply dull and upsetting, and there really weren’t that many highs out of it. So I just said ‘I can’t be bothered with this’, and gave the money back to my publisher, and said that I’d do it another day. That was the end of it.”
Someone mashed up some Metallica and some Van Halen is it good?
Could you imagine telling the members of Van Halen, who had already sold millions of records between 1978 and 1985, that they needed to change their name? According to bassist Michael Anthony, that’s what then label Warner Brothers wanted the band to do after David Lee Roth quit Van Halen. Anthony Van Halen’s camp “panicked” when Roth left, with Warner Brothers wanting one of their hottest and best-selling acts to change their name. The label was worried that the Roth-fronted Van Halen “was such a strong identity.” The bassist said “I remember Eddie and Alex, we were at Warner Brothers, and they were yelling, going, ‘Hey, hey, this is our last name. This is our careers. And we’re Van Halen.'” The label finally chilled and after replacing David Lee Roth with Sammy Hagar, Van Halen’s 1986 album, 5150, would sell two million copies in only two months.
This is NOT official yet, but YVETTE NICOLE BROWN thinks a “Community” reunion movie WILL happen. She says, quote, “We have a reunion every morning. We have a group text that is popping. We joke and laugh with each other randomly . . . we always check in with each other daily. “The movie? I think it’s coming. I don’t know when, [but] I know we all want to do it and that’s half the battle.”
Last night the Blues and Avalanche were tied after 1 at Enterprise Center. Then, the Avalanche opened things up in the 2nd. They scored 3 goals to take a 4-1 lead. In the 3rd, Mike Hoffman scored twice to bring the Blues within one. However – 4-3 was your final score. Up next? A game against the Coyotes on the road on Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for 5PM.
The Cardinals closed out their series with the Nationals with some highs and lows. First, the highs, Yadier Molina became the 6th catcher in history to start as a catcher in 2000 games. He also becomes the first to do that on the same team. As far as the lows, it was a 6-0 loss. Adam Wainwright is now 0-2. Up next for the Cards? A series against the Phillies on the road. Carlos Martinez gets the start tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled at 6:05
After five years as DeSmet’s football coach, Robert Steeples resigned to accept an assistant coaching position with the Minnesota Vikings. Steeples, a 2008 DeSmet graduate, played professionally for the Vikings in 2013. They were one of four teams Steeples played for during his three-year professional career as a defensive back. He played collegiately at Missouri and Memphis. When Steeples took over DeSmet prior to the 2015 season, it was a program that was 2-18 overall and 0-8 in the Metro Catholic Conference the two years prior to his arrival. De Smet won the Class 6 state championship in 2019, the second state title in program history. That same season the Spartans ended CBC’s 10-year reign as MCC champion and its 37-game conference-winning streak. Over his final three seasons the Spartans went 29-4
Chicago White Sox left-hander Carlos Ro-don came two outs away from a perfect game but threw the first no-hitter of his career in an 8-0 win over the Cleveland Indians last night. Rodon, 28, threw 114 pitches in the complete game, looking as strong at the end of the contest as he did at the beginning. One of his final pitches hit 98.8 mph — the hardest he has thrown a ball since 2016. It’s the second no-hitter in the major leagues this season, coming five days after Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove tossed the first no-hitter in franchise history against the Rangers.
NFL defensive standout Aaron Donald has been accused of beating up another guy. DeVincent Spriggs claims the 29-year-old L.A. Rams star attacked him on Sunday morning. A picture of Spriggs’ injuries shows his eye busted up and several wounds on his face. Spriggs’ attorney alleges the attack happened at an after-hours club called the Boom Boom Room in Pittsburgh. Donald is a Pittsburgh native and played college football at Pitt. At a press conference on Wednesday, Spriggs said Donald and other members of his crew started punching him when he bumped into All-Pro. Spriggs says he suffered a concussion and needed 16 stitches above his left eye. The Rams issued a statement saying, “We are collecting more information and will have no further comment at this time.”
It’s WAY too early to talking about the NFL season . . . but for anyone who can’t resist, “USA Today” has a ranking of every NFL quarterback, based on their odds of winning the MVP award in 2021. They kept it to quarterbacks only, since they’re the only ones who win MVP these days. Over the past 20 years, QBs have won 17, including the last eight in a row. Of course, it’s very early . . . the NFL draft hasn’t even happened yet . . . so not every team’s QB situation has been decided. Still, here’s the Top 20, along with the odds for each:
- Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs . . . 6-to-1
- Aaron Rodgers, Packers . . . 8-to-1
- Josh Allen, Bills . . . 12-to-1
- Lamar Jackson, Ravens . . . 14-to-1
- Kyler Murray, Cardinals . . . 14-to-1
- Tom Brady, Buccaneers . . . 16-to-1
- Matthew Stafford, Rams . . . 18-to-1
- Dak Prescott, Cowboys . . . 20-to-1
- Russell Wilson, Seahawks . . . 20-to-1
- Justin Herbert, Chargers . . . 30-to-1
Alabama on Wednesday got a commitment from ESPN 300 offensive lineman Jaheim Oatis, a prospect the coaching staff has recruited for nearly four years, despite the fact that he’s only a junior in high school. Oatis first received an offer from Bama coaches as an eighth grader after attending a summer camp on campus. He was 6-foot-4, 286 pounds, and had posted video of himself running a self-reported 4.7 40-yard dash.
Ole Miss and Mississippi State offered Oatis the same summer, and he’s now ESPN’s No. 215-ranked prospect overall in the 2022 class. Oatis is 6-foot-4 and 350 pounds and attends Columbia High School in Mississippi. He is not the first prospect to receive an offer as an eighth grader, but it is rare to see a recruitment come full circle with a prospect still having a committable offer at this point in the process.
And finally – I meant to mention yesterday – but Dana White confirmed that Conner McGregor vs Dustin Poirier Round III is ready to go. Or…maybe it isn’t. McGregor has told Poirier their third fight scheduled for July 10 is off after the pair quarreled on Twitter over a $500,000 donation to the American’s charity. McGregor said earlier this month that a third fight was booked with Poirier, who became the first man to knock him out in January. But McGregor was not happy when Poirier said the Irishman had not made good on a promise to donate to his charity. “A donation, not a debt. We’ve been awaiting the plans for the money that never came. The fight is off… I’m going to fight someone else on the 10th.” Poirier replied by saying McGregor’s team “never responded” to emails explaining where the funds would go.
