The King is No. 1 at the domestic box office. After a heated box office battle, “Elvis” emerged victorious over “Top Gun: Maverick” to claim the top spot on North American box office charts. Over the weekend, “Elvis” and “Top Gun: Maverick” were duking it out as the King of Rock and Roll took the No. 1 spot on Friday and dropped to second place on Saturday. Then on Sunday, the films tied for first place in North America, with each reportedly earning an estimated $30.5 million between Friday and Sunday. With the final results tallied on Monday, “Elvis” generated $31.1 million in its box office debut while “Top Gun: Maverick” brought in $29.6 million from 3 its fifth weekend in theaters.

Unfortunately, Captain Jack Sparrow will not be coming back. An Australian site called “Pop Topic” claimed an insider at Disney said JOHNNY DEPP was being offered $301 million to return to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. One of Johnny’s representatives told NBC News, quote, “This is made up.”  Knew it was too good to be true. After all, Johnny did say under oath during his defamation trial that he would not return as Jack Sparrow.

The bench scenes from Forrest Gump were some of the most iconic in the entire movie. Those scenes also include the movie’s most iconic line: “My Mama always said, ‘life is like a box of chocolates, you never which one you’re gonna get’.” How does Tom Hanks feel about those scenes? , Tom recalled not really making sense of those scenes at first. MACHINE GUN KELLY says he almost took his own life while he was on the phone with MEGAN FOX.  It happened in July of 2020, shortly after his father passed away. Jason is known for his efforts to protect our oceans.  If you remember, he celebrated every day of Earth Week last April offering ways to end and limit single-use plastics.  He also has a company called Mananalu that sells water in CANS, not plastic bottles.

To all you CHRISTIAN BALE “Batman” lovers . . . this one’s for you.  Christian is open to returning as Bruce Wayne.  But only under one condition:  CHRISTOPHER NOLAN would have to also return as the director. Now, before you get TOO excited, he’s made it clear that he hasn’t been asked and no one has brought up another sequel.  But in an interview, Christian said, quote, “In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell.’  And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.” He also admitted he still hasn’t seen ROBERT PATTINSON’s take on Batman, but that he doesn’t really watch too many movies.  He did say though that he’s a wonderful actor and that they ran into each other and talked about the role.

“American Ninja Warrior” could be headed to the Olympics.  I know how that sounds, but it’s actually TRUE. The Japanese company that invented the “Ninja Warrior” franchise announced yesterday that the obstacle course could become a part of the Modern Pentathlon at the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles. The Pentathlon is made up of five events.  Currently, those events are the very complimentary and not at all random disciplines of fencing, swimming, equestrian show jumping, laser pistol shooting, and running.   But after the 2024 games in Paris, they’re going to start testing a “Ninja Warrior” course as a possible replacement for the equestrian portion. 

BEN AFFLECK and JENNIFER LOPEZ took Ben’s 10-year-old son Samuel with them to a luxury car rental dealership in L.A. and things got a bit . . . bumpy. Ben let Samuel jump into the driver’s seat of a yellow Lamborghini with the engine running.  Well, the kid put the car in reverse and bumped into the front wheel and fender of a parked BMW.

Ever want to know what’s it’s like to live like Dolly for a night or two? Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort is now offering fans the opportunity to stay in the tour bus that Dolly used on the road from 2008 up until recently. This Dolly bus is decked out with a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a large bedroom – and of course, most of it is pink and sparkly.  According to Dolly, the bus wasn’t getting much use these days so she decided to find another use for it. Dolly’s Suite 1986 experience, includes a two-night stay on the bus for two (plus an additional room at the resort that sleeps four more), as well as a VIP dining experience for up to four guests, for $10,000. Dolly’s will put that money to good use with a portion of each stay being donated to the Dollywood Foundation, as well as Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Bam Margera has been located and he’s going to check in to a new treatment facility. Bam’s camp said he was found Monday at a hotel in Deerfield Beach, FL. Police showed up along with a crisis intervention team, which included Bam’s mother and father. His camp says they held an intervention on the spot, with other members of Bam’s family calling in to speak to him. Bam’s camp says he insisted on seeing his son, and he was told he needed to get treatment before being able to see his kid. Bam voluntarily agreed to check in to a new rehab facility … and he’s currently en route.

Just four hours before Britney Spears married her new husband in the yard of her California mansion, her first-husband Jason Alexander crept onto her property uninvited, sprinted into her home with a security guard on his tail, bolted upstairs, and tried to bust through her locked bedroom door. Spears was inside the bedroom at the time. One security staffer said Alexander was yelling out for Spears as he ran to a nearby game room and was ordered to leave. The guard said Spears appeared deeply disturbed by the incident when he finally saw her after law enforcement arrived to arrest Alexander. “She was very upset and wanted everybody to leave the property,” he testified, adding that Spears did in fact leave her property for a short time before returning to move forward with the wedding. Alexander has been held in custody since his arrest.

Creating an accurate-looking wax figure based on a celebrity is clearly hard to do because it seems at least once every few months, a new one emerges and leaves fans scratching their heads. In recent years, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna have all fallen victim to a less-than-perfect wax representation.  Now, there’s a new wax figure of Billie Eilish out there, and it’s not quite up to quality. Hollywood Wax Museum unveiled the new figure Sunday and when fans got a look at it, they had criticisms and plenty of them. A common reaction is that the figure makes 20-year-old Eilish look far more aged than she actually is. Others thought Eilish looks like Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans in White Chicks. Other less referential comments just insist flat-out that the figure is no good. (LINK)

Steel Panther and Mushroomhead are among the acts that have been confirmed to perform at the 2022 Gathering of the Juggalos (LINK). This year will serve as the 22nd installment of the annual event. The festival, dubbed “The Gathering of Dreams,” is set to take place from August 3 in Ohio. In addition to Steel Panther and Mushroomhead,  Sir Mix-A-Lot, Slick Rick and various other artists are set to perform across several different stages. Insane Clown Posse and the juggalos picked the lineup for each day themselves. There will also be wrestling, competitions, parties, rides, seminars and some other activities for juggalos and juggalettes to partake in…INCLUDING…some events hosted by friend of the Rizz Show…Clowvis!

If there’s an actual villain in the original “Toy Story”, it’s the evil, sadistic, toy-torturing neighbor kid SID.  But what if Sid wasn’t really a villain?

What if he was just a relatively normal, if kinda bratty, child? That’s what one writer claims.  And he makes some good points.

Sid likes to burn, blow up, and break toys.  But what kid DIDN’T do stuff like that?  Sid doesn’t know the toys are secretly alive . . . just like WE didn’t assume ours were when we strapped firecrackers to them or held them over a lighter just to see what would happen.

Also, the way he combines the parts from various toys to make new creations shows real creativity.  That creativity extends to the way he plays with his toys.  Like when he gets his new rocket and decides to blast Buzz into space . . . or when he plans to burn Woody on the barbecue grill.

He’s inventing characters, creating storylines, playing parts.  He’s not being sadistic, he’s playing make-believe.  Also, he gets sad when rain ruins his outdoor plans . . . and gets super-excited when his mom tells him his Pop Tarts are ready.  Just like a regular kid.

Sure, he’s annoying.  He bullies his little sister.  He’s no saint.  But is Sid really a villain?  The writer says NO.  Quote, “He’s just a rambunctious kid with an active imagination.  He’s a creative spirit who uses what tools he has available to him to express himself artistically and to construct stories of make-believe.

“He is a visual thinker and a mechanically-inclined problem-solver . . . At the end of the day, Sid is just doing what every kid does, the best way he knows how: playing with toys.” Andrew Stanton, who co-wrote the movie, says, quote, “We all agreed that Sid was the kind of kid who would grow up to be an animator.”

Adam Wainwright, two months short of 41 years old had a seven-run lead — and nine strikeouts by the time he was done last night. The Cardinals’ smacked the Marlins 9-0 for Wainwright’s career win No. 190! Charleston, Missouri, native James Naile made his big-league debut at age 29 and worked a scoreless eighth inning while rookie Juan Yepez served as the designated hitter for the second game in a row, and the dude homered for the second game in row as well with 2 homers last night. And of course, Goldschmidt shined again.

• A preliminary hearing in Brittney Griner’s case was held on Monday.
• Four months after being arrested for cannabis possession in Russia, a court date has been set.
• Griner’s trial will start this Friday, July 1st.
• The court also extended Griner’s detention for another six months.
• If she’s convicted of drug transportation charges, Griner could spend ten years in jail.
• Negotiations between the United States and Russia are supposedly taking place in order to get Griner freed.

Reports have indicated that the NFL is seeking a significant suspension for Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. A new report has indicated just how long that suspension might be. The NFL is pushing for an indefinite suspension for Watson, lasting a minimum of one season, according to a report. The league is expected to hand down discipline soon, perhaps as soon as the week of July 4.

Watson will not accept such a suspension without a fight. The report states that both he and the NFLPA are preparing to “vigorously fight” against that sort of suspension.

The league believes it has “damning” evidence against Watson stemming from 24 civil lawsuits and other accusers. The NFL is specifically focused on five cases that it feels have particularly strong evidence. The league wants to hand down essentially the stiffest possible ban, and wish to make it indefinite in case further revelations surface. However, the baseline of one year is the minimum the league is reportedly prepared to accept. The recommendation of an indefinite suspension of at least a year gives the NFL wiggle room to make the punishment longer if more incriminating evidence comes to light either during any of the four ongoing civil suits against Watson, or elsewhere. The NFL also will recommend certain terms that Watson would have to meet to make his reinstatement possible

Watson and the NFL had been in talks over a discipline settlement, but those talks fell apart over the length of a suspension (LINK). If the league won’t take less than a one-year suspension, those discussions probably did not get far.

Tempers boiled over Sunday afternoon in Anaheim, which resulted in a benches-clearing brawl during the second inning of the Angels’ game against the Seattle Mariners. Things got so crazy that at one point, a full crate of sunflower seeds were launched out onto the field.

In the top of the second inning, Angels pitcher Andrew Wantz drilled Mariners right fielder Jesse Winker in his leg with a pitch. That sent Winker off, who kept trying to get to Wantz before he was joined on the field by both dugouts and bullpens as a brawl broke out. We have some audio which is always fun (VIDEO)

The brawl was far more violent and extensive than typical baseball fights. One day later, the punishment handed down by Major League Baseball reflected that reality.

MLB on Monday suspended 12 players, managers and coaches for a total of 47 games after a fight that began after Angels pitcher Andrew Wantz hit Mariners outfielder Jesse Winker with a pitch, one inning before throwing inside on rookie outfielder Julio Rodriguez. Both apparent purpose pitches came one day after the Mariners nearly struck Angels star Mike Trout in the head with a pitch.

A war of words immediately erupted from both dugouts and Winker walked purposefully toward the Angels’ dugout, sparking a benches-clearing incident that resulted in several impactful melees, most notably Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford striking an Angel with punches and injured Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon shoving Winker in the face.  Angels manager Phil Nevin was hardest hit, earning a 10-game suspension after MLB ruled that Wantz threw intentionally at batters after warnings were in place. Nevin is not allowed to appeal and began serving his suspension immediately on Monday. Winker was suspended seven games, the longest of any player, for what MLB termed “actions that caused the incident and fighting.

If it were up to Dana White, a boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor (link) would never go down again … with the UFC honcho telling TMZ Sports, “I have less than zero interest in seeing that again.”

Of course, Conor made it seem like a May-Pac run-back could be on the horizon … after he posted a photo on his Instagram earlier this month of him boxing Mayweather with the caption “I accept.”
