I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”

Former Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars, who is battling a debilitating form of arthritis, has predicted his own death, believing he’ll die in eight years. Mick wants his loved ones to take “an airplane and drop” his body “into the center of the Bermuda Triangle”. Mars further discussed his own mortality, saying “I’m not going to live to be 85 or 90 — I just have a feeling. I don’t want to, either. My brain doesn’t want this ugly-ass body that’s all f***ed up to keep going. I wish I could just take the information out of my brain [and] put it on a chip into somebody else or a robot. There’s still a lot of stuff going on up there.”
Jordan Montgomery set the tone on the mound and Paul DeJong and Nolan Arenado provided some clutch hitting to help the Cardinals rally from an early two-run deficit to score four unanswered runs in a 4-2 win over the Astros in the first game of a three-game series at Busch Stadium last night. Rookie outfielder Jordan Walker (1 for 3, run scored) extended his hitting streak to 16 games. They go again with the Astros at Busch tonight with a start of 645pm.
Remember when I mentioned that Wainwright allowed 7 runs in three innings on Saturday in England and after the game he took responsibility for it? What I did not know he did after the game was. Deactivate his twitter account. Polo Ascencio, a Spanish-language broadcaster for the team and friend of the Rizz Show, made the paper this morning because he had tweeted photos of Wainwright interacting with fans and “spreading joy” in London at the same time as “some Cardinals fans decided to hate, be ruthless against him.” Apparently twitter acted like twitter and Adam had enough. Wainwright is in his final season with the Cardinals and sits at 198 career wins. Only two Cardinals have more, Bob Gibson (251) and Jesse Haines (210) – LINK
Los Angeles Angels Shohei Ohtani is doing something not done at the MLB level on any scale in over 100 years, and never at the level he is doing it. The two-way superstar is dominating both on the mound and at the plate this season. And, he continued that incredible season in Tuesday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox, when he played one of the best games of his career. It was one of the occasions where the 28-year-old was scheduled to pitch, as well as hit. And, he put on a show. After striking out two hitters in the top of the first, Shohei Ohtani SMASHED one in the bottom of the 1st. He dominated on the mound, going 6 2/3 innings, allowing just one run and four hits, and striking out ten with nasty pitches. And, he wasn’t done at the plate, either. He homered again, giving him a league-leading 28 on the season before the calendar turns to June. It’s the first time since 1963 an American League player struck out 10 and hit two home runs in the same game. He’s the clear MVP favorite. Dude has 127 strikeouts in 95 innings. He’s first in home runs and third in strikeouts. AND He’s a free agent after the season. Momma Moon and I were talking about how incredible it would be to have him here but he almost guaranteed to get the biggest contract anyone has ever seen – LINK
The in-laws of NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson were found dead in their Oklahoma home on Monday night, and the local police are now investigating it as a murder-suicide. Those found dead on the scene were Dr. Jack Janway, 69, Terry Janway, 68, and tragically Johnson’s 11-year-old nephew Dalton Janway. The Janways are parents to Chandra Janway, a former model who married Jimmie Johnson in 2004. The police became involved when someone called 911 after 9 PM to report a disturbance in the home. According to reports, when police arrived, they saw a person lying in the hallway inside the front door. Upon entering, they heard gunshots from inside the house. Police believe Terry Janway shot and killed her husband and grandson before turning the gun on herself. It is unclear what the motive could have been. Johnson was scheduled to race in Chicago this weekend but has pulled out. He’s kept a small schedule of races since his 2020 retirement — this weekend’s race would have been just his fourth of the season.

The U.S. Men’s national team match kicks off at 9 p.m. tonight at City PARK following a game between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago at 6:30 p.m. The US is playing St. Kitts and Nevis. The population of St. Kitts and Nevis you wonder? (the country consists of two islands, St. Kitts the larger, Nevis the smaller) is about 47,000, about the size of Chesterfield. Half of the country’s population could sit in CityPark, and you could probably fit the other half on the field.
Over to the college World Series. Sunday’s game Florida historically destroyed LSU 24-4. Then the next day it was winner take all. It took less than one full inning for there to be a controversial call in Game 3 of the Men’s College World Series title series. Florida, the home team on Monday jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a Wyatt Langford home run, and might have been able to put more runs on the board if shortstop Josh Rivera wasn’t called out for runner’s interference on a close play at first. Instead of Rivera being safe, he became the second out of the inning. Fans and media were ticked off. To make matters worse, Florida’s two-run lead didn’t last long. LSU struck back for six runs in the top of the second, and they did so with smallball. Eventually, The Tigers flew past Florida 18-4 in Omaha to close out the Men’s College World Series and win the national championship. It marked the program’s seventh title, and the first since 2009. According to one of our emailers Mike who has two first names the starting pitcher was named Thatcher and there are a ton of high draft prospects in this batch of fellers.
