The first Yeezy sneakers ever worn in public by Kanye West are going on sale for over $1 million. The Nike Air Yeezy 1 Prototypes first seen at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards in 2008, will be among the most expensive sneakers ever to appear on the market, according to Sotheby’s. The shoes will be offered via private sale after going on display in Hong Kong later this month. Sotheby’s has valued the item “in excess of $1 million.” This would pass the $615,000, set at Christie’s in May 2020 by a pair of autographed Nike Air Jordan 1s worn by Michael Jordan in 1985.

ROBERT DE NIRO is 77, and he’s still churning out movies, but that might not be his choice. His lawyer says that he’s working like crazy, and can’t afford to turn a gig down, because his estranged wife Grace Hightower is blowing through money. De Niro is trying to renegotiate his monthly payments to Grace. When they first separated in 2018, he was paying $375,000 a month. Now it’s down to around $100,000 a month. But even at that rate, he’s behind on his taxes. Some people are saying that’s why De Niro has been taking so many bad roles . . . but that started all the way back in 2002. And he was in trouble with Uncle Sam before he and Grace split.
Well, it was only a matter of time. There’s now a movie in the works based on the classic game “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots” . . . and VIN DIESEL will star in it. Given his acting chops, it would seem logical that Vin would play one of the robots. But it sounds like that won’t be the case. The movie is about, quote, “a father and son who form an unlikely bond with an advanced war machine.”
Buzzfeed polled their readers to come up with a list of movie roles with “great actors” that left you, quote, “very, very disappointed.” Here’s the list:
- Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. John Dolittle in “Dolittle”, 2020 . . . Especially so soon after a decade-plus playing Iron Man.
- Every actor in “Cats”, 2019
- Jeremy Rennerand Gabrielle Union as Ned and Rachael in “Neo Ned”, 2005
- Robert De Niroas Richard “Dick” Kelly in “Dirty Grandpa”, 2016
- Sir Patrick Stewartas the poop emoji in “The Emoji Movie”, 2017
- Emma Watsonas Belle in “Beauty and the Beast”, 2017
- Viola Davisas Aibileen Clark in “The Help”, 2011. This was an Oscar-nominated performance . . . but even Viola regrets doing it.
- Jamie Dornanas Christian Grey in “Fifty Shades of Grey”, 2015
- Adam Sandleras Jack and Jill Sadelstein in “Jack and Jill”, 2011. Yeah . . . but this is Adam Sandler. You shouldn’t be “very, very disappointed,” when he’s in a bad movie.
- Al Pacinoas himself in “Jack and Jill”, 2011
- Melissa McCarthyas Michelle Darnell in “The Boss”, 2016
- Ben Kingsleyas Guru Tugginmypudha in “The Love Guru”, 2008
- Natalie Portmanas Isabel in “Your Highness”, 2011. It’s a stoner comedy. And she’d won the Best Actress Oscar for “Black Swan” a month and a half before it came out.
- Saoirse Ronanas Melanie Stryder / Wanderer a.k.a. Wanda in “The Host”, 2013
- George Clooneyas Bruce Wayne / Batman in “Batman & Robin”, 1997
- Tilda Swintonas Dianna in “Trainwreck”, 2015. Apparently, people were disappointed because this role was just too NORMAL for Tilda.
- Kate Winsletas Jeanine Matthews in “Divergent”, 2014
- Penélope Cruzas Valentina Valencia in “Zoolander 2”, 2016.

As of late it seems as if the Cardinals are either 0 or 100. And last night, they were 100. The Cardinals saw homeruns from Paul Dejong (who actually hit two of them), Paul Goldschmidt, and Justin Williams. DeJong recorded 5 RBI in the win. Final score? 12-5 Cardinals. Jack Flaherty got the W. Tonight the Cards take on the Nationals again. Adam Wainwright gets the 6:05 start.

San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Marleau played in his 1,768th career game on Monday night at the Vegas Golden Knights, breaking Hall of Famer Gordie Howe’s record for the most in NHL history. Marleau, 41, began his career with San Jose in the 1997-98 season. Marleau set the games played record in 23 seasons. Howe, who like Marleau is a native of Saskatchewan, Canada, amassed his total over 26 seasons, before “Mr. Hockey” finally retired at age 51. This was the 899th consecutive game in which he’s played, the second longest current iron-man streak among active players.
Veteran quarterback Alex Smith announced his retirement from the NFL yesterday, saying, “Even though I have plenty of snaps left in me, after 16 years of giving this game everything I got, I can’t wait to see what else is possible.” Smith, the 2020 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, spent last year with Washington, leading the team to a 5-1 record as its starter. The Football Team released smith in early March, allowing him to become a free agent. Smith’s performance last season was even more highly regarded considering he returned to the NFL after suffering a gruesome leg injury in November 2018 that required 17 operations and nearly a leg amputation. He missed all of 2019 rehabbing the injury.
A warrant has been issued for Seahawks defensive end Aldon Smith on the charge of second-degree battery after an incident in Louisiana. Smith allegedly choked a victim to the point where they became unconscious. The incident allegedly occurred at the French Press Coffee House. Smith, 31, does not have a local address but has relatives in the New Orleans area. The edge rusher has a history of run-ins with the law. Smith hadn’t played in the NFL for more than four years before last season because of legal issues. Before last season, Smith was serving an indefinite suspension for multiple off-the-filed incidents, including a hit-and-run DUI along with vandalism charges in 2015 that led to his release by the 49ers, the team that drafted him in 2011. In 2018, he was arrested for domestic violence, assault and false imprisonment, which led to his release by the Raiders. He pleaded no contest to a pair of misdemeanor offenses in November 2018 to settle his domestic violence case.
Houston Rockets small forward Sterling Brown suffered facial lacerations during an assault Sunday night. In a statement Monday, the Rockets said Brown “had no prior knowledge of or interaction with the assailants.” He is expected to make a full recovery. The Rockets are in Miami for a Monday night matchup against the Heat. Brown is with the team but had previously been ruled out for the game due to a knee injury.
Former NBA star Scottie Pippen announced that his firstborn son, Antron, has died. He was 33 years old. “I’m heartbroken to share that yesterday, I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron,” Pippen wrote. “The two of us shared a love for basketball and we had countless conversations about the game. Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would’ve made it to the NBA. He never let that get him down, though—Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I am so proud of the man that he became.” Pippen did not disclose his son’s cause of death but asked for support during this time for his family.
