1.  Daylight Saving Time starts this month.  We spring forward on March 14th.  So the days will start feeling a little longer, but in a good way.  And after some crazy late-winter weather, the first day of spring is coming up on the 20th.

2.  The first March Madness in TWO YEARS gets started March 18th and runs through April 5th.  Last year’s got cancelled because of covid.  It’s the only time that’s ever happened since the tournament started in 1939.

3.  The Golden Globes were last night, but we’ve still got The Grammy Awards in two weeks on March 14th.  Then the Oscar nominees are announced a day later.

4.  Some big shows come back this month:  “The Voice” returns tonight . . . “Good Girls” this Sunday . . . “The Masked Singer” next Wednesday . . . “Grey’s Anatomy” next Thursday . . . and “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” on the 18th.  Also, the new “Godzilla vs. Kong” movie hits theaters and HBO Max March 31st.

5.  And finally, the holidays.  The big ones are St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th, and Passover, which starts March 27th.  But we’ve also got some lesser-known holidays coming up . . .

After a monologue by TINA FEY, who was in New York . . . and AMY POEHLER, who was in L.A., DANIEL KALUUYA won a supporting actor trophy for “Judas and the Black Messiah”.

When they first went to his feed, he had no sound.  Someone who was probably a producer could be heard saying, “I wish I could hear.”  They cut away from Daniel back to presenter LAURA DERN . . .

But then quickly went BACK to Daniel after they fixed his connection.  That was pretty much the only glitch of the night.

If anything else from the show is gonna go viral, it might be JASON SUDEIKIS and his HOODIE.

Showing the world what can happen when OLIVIA WILDE leaves you for a younger man, Jason looked a little ragged while accepting his award for the TV show “Ted Lasso”.

He also rambled, which resulted in fellow nominee DON CHEADLE motioning for him to wrap it up.  While most of the nominees dressed up, being remote allowed the option of going casual.  And Jason wasn’t the only one who took advantage.

JOHN BOYEGA admitted he was wearing “tracking bottoms” . . . BILL MURRAY was kicking back with a Hawaiian shirt and a martini . . . and JODIE FOSTER and her wife looked like they were having a pajama party with their dog.

As for comedy, the best bit of the night had to be KENAN THOMPSON and MAYA RUDOLPH doing a parody of that one “Golden Globes” speech that goes off the rails every year.

The emotional high point of the night was CHADWICK BOSEMAN’s wife accepting for him, after he won posthumously for “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”.

For those who actually still care about the winners of award shows, “The Crown” had the best night, picking up four trophies . . . including one for best TV drama.  “Schitt’s Creek” won best comedy, obviously.

“Nomadland” won best movie drama, and its director CHLOE ZHAO became the second woman to win the Globe for best director.
