So yesterday I mention Courtney Love from Hole suggested onoline that both Nine Inch Nails and Grohl’s current band, Foo Fighters (link), had previously disparaged (or were planning to disparage) her or her likeness. She said she’d “had enough” of the “chaos and fury over Kurt’s death being directed at me, deflected by Dave, while he enriched and continues to enrich himself, gorging on Kurt’s fortune and Kurt’s goodwill.” Referencing a contract she signed that she said “effectively gives Dave” and Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic (link) her “descendants’ money in perpetuity,” Love said she would back out of the agreement. She called Trent Reznor a “creep” elsewhere in the post, she alleged that she and other Hole members had witnessed the Nine Inch Nails frontman’s “systemic abuse of kids, girls as young as 12, by him and his crew” in the past. UPDATE…Courtney Love (link) issued an apology on her Instagram Story after making and then deleting a post the previous day (link) that lashed out at Dave Grohl (link) over a seeming royalties agreement related to his former band, Nirvana (link), and accused Nine Inch Nails‘ Trent Reznor (link) of abuse.  “I need to apologize for my recent post,” she said on Monday. “It was insensitive and it was wrong. No matter how I feel, there are real people behind my words and I need to learn to be more responsible with my words. I am truly sorry for those I’ve hurt. I will do better.”

Jackass films director, Jeff Tremaine was granted a restraining order yesterday against Bam Margera … and it requires Bam to keep at least 100 yards away from Jeff for the next 3 years He’s not allowed to contact Jeff or hife or his kids in any way.  Bam recently went on a fuming rant (link) against Tremaine and Johnny Knoxville (link). He said Bam was sending him increasingly disturbing messages, threatened his children (link) and made a comment that Tremaine and Knoxville can “pencil in there [sic] death certificate.” so he filed for the restraining order … and clearly presented enough evidence for the judge to sign off. Bam’s already been kicked off “Jackass 4,” and the restraining order likely means a reunion is not in the works.

Dick Clark Productions is shopping the Academy of Country Music Awards show to NBC. CBS has aired the show since 1998. Why the change? As more and more people are NOT watching awards shows CBS is saying no thank you to the Academy’s $22 million fee for the 2022 show. And Dick is trying to bundle in the Golden Globes as part of the deal because that thing is not being watched either. The ACM has lost almost half its viewership since 2018.

A painting purchased at a Canadian thrift shop is now listed at an auction after the artist was identified as . . . DAVID BOWIE.  Somebody bought it for ONLY $4.09 . . . not knowing WHO the artist was. It’s titled “D Head 46” and is part of a series that David painted from 1994 to 1997.  Models for the portraits included band members, friends, and even himself. A spokesperson for the auction said, quote, “It’s been suggested that, for some of these important paintings, Bowie drew inspiration from the Ziggy Stardust era.” It’s expected to sell for up to $12,000.

POST MALONE dropped $1.6 million on new porcelain veneers and . . . DIAMOND FANGS. The two diamonds have a total weight of 12 carats . . . and combined with the 28 units of ceramic restoration, he literally does have a million-dollar smile. The average engagement ring is only a little over ONE carat . . . and Posty has 12 . . . IN HIS MOUTH. The dentist who did the work posted a picture of Post with his new teeth

The “Harley Quinn” cartoon on HBO Max isn’t really for kids, because it’s loaded with violence and profanity.  But the creators can’t just do anything they want.  In a recent interview, one of them revealed that they wanted to do a scene where Batman is giving Catwoman a favor of the ORAL variety.  But DC said they “absolutely” couldn’t do it. The guy said, quote, “They’re like, ‘Heroes don’t do that.’  So, we said, ‘Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?’ “They were like, ‘No, it’s that we sell consumer toys for heroes.  It’s hard to sell a toy if Batman is also [orally pleasing] someone.'”

ZOE KRAVITZ is directing a movie that’ll star CHANNING TATUM, and the title rhymes with WUSSY Island. can’t say the title on the air.  Let’s just say it’s called “[blank] Island”, and the first word rhymes with WUSSY. But here’s the thing:  This movie has a message.  It’s about a young L.A. cocktail waitress named Frida, who wants to get with a rich tech mogul named Slater King. She finally does get into his inner circle, and ends up on his private island, partying with the beautiful people.  But she soon learns there’s something TERRIFYING going on.

LUKE EVANS and JOSH GAD are back as the “Beauty and the Beast” duo, Gaston and LeFou. Disney+ is doing an 8-episode prequel series with LUKE EVANS and JOSH GAD and the it’ll be a musical just like the live-action film. The series is set years before the movie, with the three characters going on a journey that includes lots of comedy, adventure and romance. Josh will produce and write scripts.

Dr. Dre talked about his aneurism saying he has never had high blood pressure and always took care of himself. He says he is moving past it and hopes to live a nice long life.  Dre is also about to open a new public high school in L.A. looking to reach “the inner-city kid, the younger me.” The school has now been approved by the L.A. Board of Education and is slated to open in fall 2022.

Ice Cube and Jack Black may be working together soon. Mr. Black is trying to work out a deal  to star with Mr. Cube in a new movie called Oh Hell No. The premise is that Black’s character wants to date Cube’s character’s mother. Cube’s response? “Oh, Hell No.” The movie will be directed by Kitao Sakurai, who’s known for producing and directing the wild Eric Andre Show on Adult Swim. Sakurai also co-wrote the Tiffany Haddish and Eric Andre Netflix movie Bad Trip.

System of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian will release a 24-minute long piano concerto (A concerto is a classical music composition that highlights a solo instrument against the background of a full orchestra)that he wrote during lockdown this week on Friday. Its called “Disarming Time – A Modern Piano Concerto”. He stopped at my place last night to play me a bit of it. Check out Serj’s “Disarming Time” this Friday, June 18th.

We have all been to a wedding of a guy in a band right? Eventually the band members if there get up on stage and play a bit. Imagine attending a wedding in 1976 and seeing the groom’s friends jump on-stage to jam out a few songs and thinking, “Wow this kinda sounds like KISS!”  Then having it turn out that . . . IT WAS. That’s exactly what happened at ACE FREHLEY’s wedding in 1976.  And as far as anyone knows, it’s the earliest recording of them performing without their makeup. Even though the recovered 8mm film is dark, you can see PAUL STANLEY and GENE SIMMONS’ smiling faces.  The band performed their recently released single, “Rock and Roll All Nite” . . . and gave a sneak peek of “Shout It Out Loud”, which hadn’t come out yet.

Conan is down to eight more shows on TBS, so he’s having some of his favorite people on.  Martin Short came out comedically roasting Conan.

In the 6th, Paul Goldschmidt drove in the Cards lone run at that time.  Tied up at one….it was the bottom of the 9th….and Goldy was at the plate again.  Final score 2-1.  The two teams wrap up their series this afternoon.  Johan Oviedo gets the start.  First pitch scheduled for 12:15PM.

Things are all tied up in the Stanley Cup Playoff Semi Final as the Lightning beat the Islanders 4-2.  Tonight the Golden Knights and the Canadiens have their game 2.  The Knights won game one 4 to 1.

The Nets and Bucks played game 5 yesterday.  And a surprise start from James Harden didn’t help the Nets early as the Bucks went up to a big lead.  They were up by 17 at one point.  But, it’s all about the score at the final buzzer, and the Nets ended up coming all the way back and getting the 114-108 win.  Kevin Durant ended up with a 49 point triple double in the win.  Two games tonight as the Hawks and 76ers have their game 5 as well as the Clippers and Jazz.

One of SLU basketball’s all-time greats is giving a new sport a try.

Former Billiken forward Hasahn French is in minicamp with the Tennessee Titans, looking to catch on as a tight end in the NFL. The 6-foot-7, 240 pound French is in Titans minicamp on a tryout. French wouldn’t be the first college basketball player to catch on in the NFL. Antonio Gates, Jimmy Graham and Tony Gonzalez are some notable tight ends who once excelled on the basketball court. In his SLU career, French is the program’s all-time leader in blocks and is fifth all-time in rebounds as a Billiken.

Former NFL star Vince Wilfork’s son, D’Aundre Holmes-Wilfork, was reportedly arrested in May for allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from his father. Wilfork’s two Super Bowl rings and two AFC championship rings he won with the Patriots along with a college championship ring from his career at Miami were among the stolen jewelry.  His 23 year old son was arrested on May 22 and charged with theft of property greater than $300,000 in Texas. Police believe he sold the jewelry before his arrest.

Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard and Warriors forward Draymond Green have committed to U.S. basketball and will compete in this summer’s Olympics in Tokyo. This news after hearing earlier in the day that STL’s own Jayson Tatum was committed as well. The roster is expected to be finalized by late June, and training camp for Team USA starts July in Las Vegas with Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.  The group stage of the Olympics tourney will be held from July 25 to Aug. 1, and the knockout stage will be from Aug. 3 to Aug. 7

Cristiano Ronaldo’s removal of two Coca-Cola bottles at a Euro 2020 news conference went hand in hand with a $4 billion drop in it’s share price. The Portugal captain was visibly troubled when he saw two bottles of the carbonated soft drink in front of him as he sat down to speak to the media on Monday. Ronaldo, an advocate of a healthy diet, moved the glass bottles out of the camera frame and instead held up a bottle of water in while he said in Portuguese: “Water!” Coca-Cola saw their share go from $242bn to $238bn — a $4bn drop. Coca-Cola, an official sponsor of Euro 2020, responded in a statement that “everyone is entitled to their drink preferences” with different “tastes and needs.” A Euro 2020 spokesperson said: “Players are offered water, alongside Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, on arrival at our press conferences.”
