Guns n’ Roses‘ tour-opening show in Abu Dhabi on Thursday — their first concert this year — was marked by the number of songs they played that had not been heard live this decade — and even this century. Use Your Illusion 1‘s “Bad Obsession,” since 1993; Use Your Illusion 2‘s “Pretty Tied Up” since 1992 one of their oldest tunes, Appetite for Destruction‘s “Anything Goes,”since 1988. They also brought back three songs they’d played this century, but not yet this decade: The Spaghetti Incident‘s UK. Subs cover “Down of the Farm” hadn’t been heard live since 2006 and non-album cover of Rose Tattoo‘s 1978 number “Nice Boys” and ..‘s “My Michelle” both hadn’t been performed on stage since 2017.

Pantera‘s five classic studio albums are being reissued on vinyl picture discs. The Complete Studio Albums (1990-2000), a limited-edition box set, is due out July 21st. The soundtrack for AIR, the movie about Michael Jordan’s collaboration with Nike on AIr Jordan sneakers, was released on CD on Friday, with an Amazon exclusive audio cassette edition to follow on June 23rd and vinyl on September 15th. Among the 13 songs are The Clash’s “Rock the Casbah,” “Money for Nothing” from Dire Straits and Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.”
Ed Sheeran served Philly cheesesteaks to his fans in South Philadelphia Saturday while in town for his Mathematics Tour. Fans immediately lined up at SQ Philips Steaks when Ed posted the address and said that cheesesteaks were on him. Of course, he got a quick tutorial from the owners on how to make the perfect sandwich with “slabs” of melted Cheez Whiz before he took over as cook [slash] server.

In movie news, Tom Cruise is losing his mind over the fact that “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1” comes out July 12th, and will play in most IMAX theaters, however, Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” comes out on the 21st, and it’s playing in ALL the IMAX theaters, which means Cruise will be bumped out of the ones he was playing in. Tom is not down with that. A source says he’s been, quote, “complaining loudly” about it to Paramount execs and also, quote, “furiously showing the film to exhibitors in an effort to convince them to switch their plans . . . [He] is even personally calling around to exhibition and studio executives.”
Michael Keaton says “Beetlejuice 2” is being made similarly to the original, by incorporating practical effects and handmade props. And it’s the most fun he’s had in a long time. Michael Keaton is reuniting with Tim Burton to craft a sequel to Beetlejuice. Production is underway in London, where Keaton talked about stepping back into one of his most iconic screen roles. According to Keaton, the Beetlejuicesequel has been secretly in the works for years. Beetlejuice 2 is scheduled to hit theatres in September 2024.

Disney has plans for a third ‘Hocus Pocus’ film. The 2022 sequel had an open ending to bring the Sanderson sisters after a candle to bring witches back to life is found.
Congrats to Jonah Hill – who just became a father! He and his girlfriend, Olive Millar (she is a rep for Jonah) confirmed to People magazine after he was visibly absent from his sister’s wedding back in May.
