They said it wouldn’t last . . . and once again, “they” were right. KIM KARDASHIAN has filed for divorce from KANYE WEST, after almost seven years of marriage. But it sounds like their split will be amicable. Sources say they’ve already decided on joint legal and physical custody of their four kids, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. In addition, neither of them will contest the prenup, and they’re close to a property settlement. It seems like Kanye’s 2020 presidential campaign was the last straw. Kim was reportedly ready to call it quits back then, but she didn’t want to leave him while he was obviously having issues. This is Kanye’s first divorce, but Kim’s THIRD. She was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas and NBA star KRIS HUMPHRIES.
Disney+ just added all five seasons of “The Muppet Show” . . . along with a warning about possible OFFENSIVE CONTENT. Remember, “The Muppet Show” aired from 1977 to 1981 . . . a time when we were less sensitive about how we portrayed certain people. And Disney says the show includes some, quote, “negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures.” The Disclaimer says, quote, “These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.” They didn’t give any examples of the questionable content.
There are 118 episodes of “Muppet Show” on Disney+, even though there were 120 in the original run. But the two missing episodes have nothing to do with offensive stereotypes. They’re both from Season 5. One of them had BROOKE SHIELDS as the guest star, and apparently it’s gone because of music rights issues. The other featured British comedian Chris Langham, who was convicted for possession of child pornography in 2007. So there’s that.
Actor Ryan Reynolds is set to make some serious money for Deadpool 4. Reynolds could earn $30 million for a fourth installment of his hit franchise. Reynolds is already set; he’ll will likely make between $20 million and $27 million for Deadpool 3 alone. The actor could bring in even more than $30 million if he’s given a producer credit. There’s money to be thrown at the Marvel Cinematic Universe actors; as Ironman, Robert Downey, Jr. pulled in $20 million in a base salary then another $55 million on the back end. Other Avengers cast members Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson were some of Hollywood’s top earners. It helps that Avengers: Endgame became the highest-grossing film ever made.
the current state of Twitch: the official Twitch Gaming channel cut off the live Metallica concert to play 8bit folk music to avoid DMCA pic.twitter.com/sCn56So8Ee

METALLICA played a concert to kick off “BlizzCon” on Twitch, but a lot of viewers didn’t even get to hear them, because their performance audio was swapped out for ELEVATOR MUSIC. The event streamed on Twitch on Friday . . . but apparently, the actual audio got flagged for a possible copyright violation, which can happen with streaming content. So you could SEE Metallica performing . . . but the audio was just some non-descript 8-bit music.
Pop culture conventions are HUGE business these days . . . and actors can make serious bank spending a weekend signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans. But one show would rather they DIDN’T. An actor from the Walking Dead from 2014 to 2016, and he says actors are paid MORE to limit their convention schedules. Quote, “Some people were doing them every weekend, and it was interfering with the work schedule.” He added that it wasn’t the “top people” like NORMAN REEDUS . . . who spaced out his convention appearances because he was such a huge draw and they “took a toll on him physically.”
Chris D’Elia on Friday posted a lengthy video in which he addressed sexual misconduct allegations leveled against him last summer. The comic-actor said in the nearly 10-minute video posted on his YouTube page “I do have a problem,” but maintained he did nothing illegal. “First of all, I do know how it looks with all the stuff that’s been said and the emails that have been put out there and what the media has been trying to say and I know it looks bad. I stand by the fact that all my relationships have been consensual and legal.” Last summer, D’Elia was accused by multiple women of sexually harassing underage girls. One alleged victim claimed he asked for nude photos knowing she was a minor. Another alleged victim accused him of attempting to groom her. Screenshots of conversations between her and the comic were shared and D’Elia was dropped by his talent agency. In his Friday video, D’Elia said “sex controlled my life” and that he was seeking treatment. “It was the focus, it was my focus all the time. And I had a problem and I do have a problem. It’s not like, months down the line everything’s better. I need to do work on that.”
People are taking a closer look at the behavior of all talk show hosts following the release of the documentary Framing Britney Spears and David Letterman was already called out for an interview with Lindsay Lohan from 2013. Now, he is also facing backlash for his interview with Jennifer Anniston, in which he put her hair into his mouth and sucked on it. The interview took a weird turn when Letterman paused the conversation and said, “Forgive me if this is rude. I just want to try one thing.” He then moved closer to her, put his hand on her shoulder, and put a piece of her hair in his mouth. Even though she squealed and seemed uncomfortable, he continued to suck on the strand of hair. “That was something that I’ll never forget,” Jennifer said. When Letterman told her that she seemed to be “traumatized,” she replied, “I am.”
“Time” magazine put together a list of the 100 NEXT big influencers . . . the young up-and-comers who’ll be leading the way in the not-too-distant future. One of the biggest names on the list has really only been an influencer for less than a month now: AMANDA GORMAN . . . whose poetry stole the show at both the Inauguration and the Super Bowl. Here are some of the other names you’d recognize:
Musicians: Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Lil Baby, Phoebe Bridgers, Chloe X Halle, and Luke Combs.
Actors: John David Washington, Ana de Armas, Florence Pugh, Lakeith Stanfield, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Athletes: Luka Doncic from the Mavericks, Clemson University quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Olympic track and field star Sydney McLaughlin, and former WNBA star Renee Montgomery.
PRINCE HARRY and MEGHAN MARKLE’s departure from the Royal Family is now permanent. Buckingham Palace released a statement on Friday saying, quote, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family.” It added, quote, “It is not possible [for them] to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.” It also said that the family was “saddened” by the decision, but “The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family.” It’s only been a week since Harry and Meghan announced they are expecting their second child. They’ve since released a statement of their own, pushing back on the Queen’s statement about “public service.” They said, quote, “We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.” And now the word is that PRINCE WILLIAM is “very upset” that they did that. A source says, quote, “You don’t answer the Queen back. It’s just not done.”
South Park is returning early in 2021 — because there has just been too much in the news that Trey Parker and Matt Stone need to address through their beloved Comedy Central show. Another stand-alone hourlong special is set to premiere on March 10, titled “South ParQ The Vaccination Special.” The episode will be simulcast on MTV2. The series usually runs its seasons in the fall, but due to the pandemic, only a single hourlong “Pandemic Special” aired in 2020. It’s safe to assume the episode will touch on major events from recent months, such as the presidential election and the COVID-19 vaccination effort. The “Q” in the title is also a hint the special will likely address the U.S. Capitol riots.
Shinedown’s feeling pretty optimistic about the second half of 2021. Vocalist Brent Smith hopes the band will release a new album this year, saying “We’re looking after summer” for its release. Shinedown is also preparing to tour sometime in the Summer or Fall, too, revealing “We’re working with promoters right now, kind…of how it can be done. Each day we’re starting to get good news and better news, but we have to be mindful.”
Some actors can make a big impression in a short amount of time. Buzzfeed did a list of 31 actors who did 10 episodes or less of a TV series, but really made the most of it. Here’s the Top 10:
- Pedro Pascal as Oberyn Martell on “Game of Thrones”. Seven episodes.
- Aubrey Plaza as Cat Adams on “Criminal Minds”. Four episodes.

We’ve all seen the lists of celebrities who adopted stage names before becoming famous . . . but Buzzfeed has a rundown of famous people who have just made SLIGHT TWEAKS to their names. For example, did you know that MICHAEL J. FOX was born Michael A. Fox? His middle name is Andrew, and he had to change his name because two people can’t be registered under the same name in the Screen Actors Guild. There was already someone registered as “Michael Fox,” and he didn’t like the name “Michael A. Fox” because it sounds literally like “Michael, a fox.” So he went with Michael J. Fox.
Here are some others:
- Meryl Streep was born MARY Streep.
- Emma Stone was born EMILY Stone
- Oprah Winfrey was born ORPAH Winfrey.
- Warren Beatty was born Warren BEATY. He added another T for some reason.
- Garth Brooks was born TROYAL Garth Brooks. He just goes by his middle name.
- Missy Elliott was born MELISSA Elliott.
- David Duchovny was originally David DUCOVNY. David’s father took the H out of his last name because he was tired of it being mispronounced

Colorado Rockies veteran outfielder Ian Desmond is opting out for a second straight season. Desmond announced Sunday on his Instagram account that his “desire to be with my family is greater than my desire to go back and play baseball under these circumstances. I’m going to train and watch how things unfold.” He added “for now” in his statement to opt out, leaving the door open for a possible return. The 35-year-old Desmond is in the final year of a five-year, $70 million deal he signed in December 2016. He is scheduled to make $8 million this season. Colorado has a $15 million option for 2022 with a $2 million buyout. In opting out last season during the coronavirus-shortened season, Desmond cited a desire to spend more time with his family and to help grow youth baseball in his Florida hometown. He also added the COVID-19 pandemic made the baseball season one that “is a risk I am not comfortable taking.” On Sunday, Desmond wrote of his decision: “This impacts a lot of people, some positively and some negatively, and I own that. At the end of the day, this weighs on me more than anyone but I’m following my heart and I feel good about my decision.”

The New Orleans Pelicans picked up a wild win over the Boston Celtics on Sunday. In the process, they lost shooting guard JJ Redick to one of the more bizarre ejections of the NBA season. In the midst of rallying from a 24-point second-half deficit, Redick picked up a pair of technical fouls that resulted in an early trip to the locker room. The first occurred with 11:42 remaining in the fourth quarter. With the Pelicans on offense, Redick appeared to believe that he got fouled on a pass and immediately turned around to complain to official Josh Tiven. Whatever Redick said, Tiven didn’t appreciate it. He waited for the play to end with a Zion Williamson layup and whistled Redick for a technical foul. On the next Pelicans possession, Redick drew a foul that was called at the top of the key. At the stoppage in play, he passed the ball to Tiven, who immediately whistled Redick for his second technical foul, which comes with an automatic ejection. https://sports.yahoo.com/jj-redick-handed-bizarre-ejection-in-midst-of-pelicans-record-comeback-win-over-celtics-003032301.html
A long jumper was reduced to tears when officials mistakenly erased her mark after a leap that could have brought her a gold medal at the Spanish athletics championships on Sunday. Maria Vicente, 19, appeared to have recorded a distance above 6.50 metres with her first leap but the mark was rubbed out by two officials in the pit, who believed she had fouled. Replays showed the Catalan athlete, who won gold in the pentathlon on Friday, had not over-stepped the mark and she was given another attempt after officials recognised their mistake. Visibly shaken by the error, Vicente fouled on her next jump but later recorded 6.24m, her best leap of the day, followed by a dismal 4.83. She eventually finished third to collect the bronze medal. “There’s no explanation for what happened,” a tearful Vicente told reporters. Spanish athletics federation president Raul Chapado apologised to Vicente and her coach Ramon Cid for the error.
Deion Sanders’ debut as Jackson State football coach looked like reason for celebration. After their fall season was delayed because of COVID-19, the Tigers opened the Prime Time era with a 53-0 win over Edward Waters on Sunday. Prior to the game, Sanders got a visit from former Dallas Cowboys teammate and fellow football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman that Sanders said moved him to tears.

All seemed well in western Mississippi. That is, until Sanders’ postgame news conference.
The first-year head coach was happy with his team’s performance. But he told reporters he was robbed of his cellphone, watches and credit cards during the game.
Then, seemingly good news broke with a Jackson State official telling reporters that Sanders’ property wasn’t stolen, but “misplaced” and “secured” by a JSU staffer, per reports. Sanders got his stuff back.Except Sanders wasn’t having it. He responded to a report on Twitter with an explanation that his assistant caught the alleged thief in the act and that there was “no miscommunication my man at all.”
The NHL’s Lake Tahoe outdoor game between the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights ended under the lights late Saturday night after it was paused for over eight hours because of deteriorating ice conditions following the first period.
Puck drop was at 12:12 p.m. local time (3:12 p.m. ET) under intense sunshine that was melting snow around the rink and causing problems with the ice. The Avalanche led the Golden Knights 1-0 after the first period on a goal by defenseman Samuel Girard. The teams left for their dressing rooms and remained there until NHL commissioner Gary Bettman announced the game would be completed later Saturday. The game resumed at 9:02 p.m. PT, with the Avalanche going on to win 3-2.
“It was weird. It feels like a blur, honestly. The ice was bad, but we never even thought of stopping. I didn’t think it was a possibility. I thought we were just going to grind it out,” said Avs star Nathan MacKinnon, who scored after the resumption. During the delay, the players returned to their hotels to grab lunch and then make an attempt at pregame naps. The Vegas coaching staff treated the first period like it would a previous full game that it breaks down and reviews, and treated the final two periods that night as a separate game.
The NCAA will allow a limited number of fans to attend all rounds of its men’s basketball tournament in Indiana and later rounds of its women’s tournament in Texas. The governing body said Friday it is permitting 25% capacity at the men’s tournament venues to allow for social distancing. That figure will include all participants and essential staff along with the family members of team players and coaches. On the women’s side, the NCAA will allow a capacity of up to 17% at each venue from the Sweet 16 to the Final Four. Games taking place in the first two rounds will limit attendance to team guests.
