Father and son accidentally find remains of missing man inside a dinosaur statue – USAToday The Average Person Thinks They Could Survive 16 Days in the Wilderness – StudyFinds     coc Mark York, the actor who played Billy Merchant (link) on The Office, died last week at age 55. He was a paraplegic since 1988, died “quickly” at an Ohio hospital after falling ill, but that his cause of death is not clear. His obituary (link) says the ailment was “brief and unexpected.” York, who grew up in Ohio but came to California to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, also had roles on TV shows including CSI: New York, 8 Simple Rules, and Fighting Words. York’s recurring Office character was the property manager of the office park containing Dunder Mifflin, Deadline (link) reports. York’s website (link) says that the “almost fatal, life-changing auto accident” that left him paralyzed also gave him “a new lease on life,” and that, in his acting career, he tried “to open the minds of casting directors, and others in Hollywood, to also see a wheelchair-user in real-life roles such as doctors, lawyers, businessmen, and such, because…well, they are.” More recently, he had worked as an inventor, getting two patents for his inventions.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WVDKZJkGlY BAM MARGERA posted another rant on Sunday about how he was bounced from “Jackass 4”.  He specifically called out JOHNNY KNOXVILLE and the director, Jeff Tremaine. On the bright side, he claims he’s getting help from a “very special lady” who he referred to as “The Green Queen”.  He says she’s helped other celebrities, including Brian Johnson from AC/DC and Steven Tyler. But finally, someone from the “Jackass” crew is calling Bam out.  STEVE-O posted a message saying, quote, “Bam, the two people you’re saying wronged you are the same two people who organized the intervention which saved my life. “Everyone bent over backwards to get you in the movie, and all you had to do was not get loaded.  You’ve continued to get loaded, it’s that simple. “We all love you every bit as much as we all say we do, but nobody who really loves you can enable or encourage you to stay sick.”   The next Indiana Jones film, the fifth in the franchise and likely Harrison Ford’s last, will focus “on a space race between 1960s Russia and U.S.A. Marvel and James Bond bad guy Mads Mikkelsen will play an exonerated Nazi scientist who helps NASA race to the moon.  Indy won’t be happy about the US’s decision to hire Nazis, leaving Ford and Mikkelson to come to blows on film. No word if actor Shia LeBeouf will return to the Indiana Jones franchise.  It’s also reported that Steven Spielberg will not direct this Indiana Jones film.  But the director did say a few years ago that he’d love to create an Indiana Jones film with a woman in the lead role. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (link) will play former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick in Super Pumped on Showtime. Its an anthology drama. Each season will get into a story that was huge in the business world and changed wider culture. The first season is based on the book Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber.  It will deal with Uber and Kalanick’s meteoric rise in Silicon Valley, the company’s roller coaster ride and Kalanick’s eventual ouster amid allegations of sexual harassment and a toxic environment at the company.  Charlie and the Chocolate Fatory is getting a reimagine thing and a thing. It’ll be called Wonka. It will be a musical.  And it will star Timothee Chalamet.   Gene Wilder played the role in 1071 and Johnny Depp played him in the 2005 film.  If you haven’t noticed, Netflix has been moving in on Lifetime and Hallmark’s territory by releasing cheesy Christmas romantic comedies.  And it is through just such a movie that LINDSAY LOHAN will stage her comeback. Her movie doesn’t have a title yet, but the plot is basically the same as roughly half of the ones you’ve seen before. (Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn don’t listen)Lindsay plays a “newly-engaged, spoiled hotel heiress” who gets amnesia after a skiing accident.  She ends up in the care of a “handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas.”  MATTHEW PERRY is selling friends-related merch (link), including a “Could I BE Any More Vaccinated?” shirt (link).  “Friends” might’ve aired for ten seasons too many, but out of all 236 episodes, a few stuck out.  Here is a list of the Top Ten episodes, according to IMDb ratings, just in time for the “Friends: Reunion” special on HBO Max this Thursday:

  1.  “The One Where Everybody Finds Out”, Season 5, Episode 14 . . . “Monica and Chandler’s clandestine romance finally comes to the fore as the friends try to outwit each other in an extended game of ‘We know they know, but they don’t know we know they know.'”
  1.  “The Last One: Part 2”, Season 10, Episode 18 . . . “In the series finale, the friends bid adieu to their beloved Greenwich Village apartment, while Rachel would decide to get off her Paris-bound plane to reunite with her lobster, Ross.”
  1.  “The One with the Embryos”, Season 4, Episode 12 . . . “While Phoebe’s busy trying to become her brother’s surrogate, Ross hosts a trivia game to determine which pair of best friends knows the other one better.  What they definitely do determine is that nobody actually knows what Chandler’s job is.”
  1. “The One with the Prom Video”, Season 2, Episode 14 . . . “Rachel finally forgives Ross for his hurtful ‘Pros and Cons’ list about dating her after watching a home video that reveals Ross had planned to take her to prom when her date was a no-show.”
  1. “The One with the Proposal: Part 2”, Season 6, Episode 25 . . . “Chandler feigns a lack of interest in marriage in order to surprise Monica with a proposal, which almost drives her straight back into the arms of her ex, Richard, played by Tom Selleck.”

72 year old  Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin is getting all his unreleased music together. But believe it or not it isn’t a money grab. He said to his kids one he is gone open up the vault and give it all away for free. I am sure the family will have other plans unless he gets that in writing.  The music of The Red Hot Chili Peppers (link), Blondie, Barry Manilow, Timbaland, and Wu-Tang Clan were recently purchased by the company Hipgnosis. I don’t know if the other artists crossed their ts and dotted there is but the chili peppers are being sued by old management saying ummm we would like a cut. That cut, the aount they sold their music rights for, about $140 million. This managmenet has been with the band since the late 1990s and had a deal with the band that included a percentage of the money made in ‘gross earnings.’ But, it was recently announced, the band split with the company but the contract required them to a pay sixteen percent commission on all gross earnings — which included anything for three years after termination of the contract. The band reportedly “sold the rights to their entire song catalog, including all songs created and released by RHCP during the term of the contract, to a third party for a significant sum.” BTW chili peppers music apparently generates $5-6 million a year as the band’s share of the money. “For whatever reason, when I was younger, I was not considered good looking.”

ANSWER:  E.  BILLY CORGAN . . . who adds, quote, “Photographers would try to stick me in the back of photo shoots with the band and put other people [in front of me].  I swear to God. “Well, you know, things change.  Now the vampire look is in, right?”  BTS and BRUNO MARS both set new records this weekend. After releasing their second all-English single, “Butter” on Friday, BTS broke their own YouTube record for most views in the first 24 hours with 113 million.  The previous record was 101.1 million views, for their “Dynamite” video. BTS also broke the single-day streaming record on Spotify with 11.042 million streams.  This knocked out JUSTIN BIEBER and ED SHEERAN’s “I Don’t Care” at 10.977 million.  Bruno Mars made history with five songs certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America.  A single or album goes Diamond when it hits 10 million copies. His songs “That’s What I Like” and “When I Was Your Man” just received diamond certification.  They join “Just The Way You Are”, “Grenade”, and the MARK RONSON collaboration, “Uptown Funk”.

NBA playoffs continued – the Bucks destroyed the Heat to go up 2-0.  The Nuggets bounced back and for the win over the Trail Blazers.  Tonight – the Celtics take on the Knicks down 1-0.  The Suns and Lakers play game 2 in Phoenix.  And the Mavericks take on the Clippers. The NBA released a statement Monday addressing LeBron James’ violation of the league’s health and safety protocols. The Los Angeles Lakers star attended a promotional event for a tequila brand in the days before the team’s play-in game against the Golden State Warriors on May 19. Drake and Michael B. Jordan were among those at the event. NBA chief communications officer Mike Bass followed up Monday to say the four-time MVP “briefly attended an outdoor event last week where participants were required to be vaccinated or return a negative test result.” Aaron Rodgers’ issue with the Green Bay Packers isn’t their drafting of quarterback Jordan Love but rather about an organizational philosophy that he believes has gone awry. That’s the story Rodgers told Monday night in an appearance on SportsCenter to commemorate Kenny Mayne’s final show on ESPN. It was the first public explanation for how the standoff between him and his team reached this point. While Rodgers admitted that things changed significantly last year when the general manager traded up to draft Love, Rodgers’ potential replacement, he suggested his beef was more with how the GM handled it.  Rodgers said: “It’s never been about the draft pick. I love Jordan; he’s a great kid. [We’ve had] a lot of fun to work together. Love the coaching staff, love my teammates, love the fan base in Green Bay. An incredible 16 years. It’s just kind of about a philosophy and maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go. It’s about character, it’s about culture, it’s about doing things the right way.” Rodgers is coming off his third MVP award. He believes by playing so well last year — when he led the Packers to a 13-3 record and a berth in the NFC Championship Game for the second straight season — he altered the Packers’ plans to move on from him. The GM has admitted that he should have communicated better with Rodgers before he traded up to take Love at No. 26 in the 2020 draft. Rodgers confirmed that he skipped the team’s first OTA session, but he declined to say how he wants the situation to end. While OTAs are voluntary, Rodgers will miss out on a $500,000 workout bonus tied to participation in the offseason program.Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones said he is planning on leaving the franchise. “I’m outta there,” Jones said when reached by phone by Shannon Sharpe on the network’s “Undisputed” show. Jones had been the subject of trade talks recently after the Falcons general manager said the team would be taking calls about the former All-Pro receiver last month. Jones requested a trade from the Falcons at the beginning of the offseason in March, but the organization was trying to protect him and work quietly behind the scenes. The Falcons prefer not to trade him in the NFC but would do so for the right price. The Olympics are just two months away, but United States health officials and the State Department raised the travel alert for Americans looking to go to Japan to Level 4: Do Not Travel. The State Department moved the travel alert from “Level 3: Reconsider Travel” because of rising COVID-19 cases in Japan. “We feel confident that the current mitigation practices in place for athletes and staff, coupled with the testing before travel, on arrival in Japan, and during Games time, will allow for safe participation of Team USA athletes this summer,” the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee said in a statement. This is yet another thing in the lead-up to the Olympics that is facing a ton of issues. Not only were the Games postponed a year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but there also has been notable pushback against the event. The Olympics are scheduled for July 23 through Aug. 8. Iowa guard Jordan Bohannon was physically assaulted early Sunday morning in Iowa City. Bohannon suffered a “serious head injury,” and is currently recovering.  Iowa Head Coach said: “Thankfully Jordan is recovering well after being attacked by an individual he did not see coming at him. We were made aware of the incident immediately. We are grateful that friends who were with Jordan at the time kept the incident from escalating. His health is our number one concern.” Bohannon is Iowa’s all-time leader in assists and threes. He averaged 10.6 points and 4.4 assists per game in 2020-21, his fifth season with the Hawkeyes. Bohannon announced in April he will return to Iowa in 2021-22 for a sixth college season. https://youtu.be/WqBr8DnJyNc A baseball player in the Dominican Republic was arrested after attacking the umpire with his bat. Dominican reporter Hector Gomez shared a video of the incident. In the video, a player identified as Elvis Lebron is shown arguing with the umpire. The umpire ejects Lebron, who takes a swing while holding the bat in his right hand. He also throws his helmet at the umpire. The game was brought to a halt and Lebron was escorted off the field. While Gomez indicated Lebron was once affiliated with the Chicago Cubs, nobody could confirm whether he’s currently connected to any organization in MLB.
