It turns out Bruce Willis did NOT sign over the rights to his likeness.  But that doesn’t mean Deepfake Bruce won’t show up in future projects. Bruce’s people issued a statement saying he has “no partnership or agreement” with Deepcake, the company he supposedly sold his rights to. And Deepcake said Bruce’s digital likeness rights are his by default, and CAN’T be sold.  But they did create Bruce’s “digital twin” for an ad campaign in Russia last year . . . and any future use of his likeness would be up to him.

A family has been charged in connection with the murder of PnB Rock.  40-year-old Freddie Lee Trone was arrested last Thursday in Las Vegas. He was charged with one count of murder, two counts of second-degree robbery, and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. His 17-year-old son was arrested last Tuesday and charged with the same counts.  Trone’s wife, and the son’s stepmother, Shauntel Trone, was also arrested last week and charged with being an accessory.  A fourth suspect is still at large. Investigators think the suspect tipped the family off to Rock’s location when he was murdered.  PnB Rock was killed while dining at a Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles location in Los Angeles on September 13th.

Adam Sandler said he’d be down to play more “foosball” in a sequel to his hit 1998 comedy ‘Waterboy’. Sandler told ‘Variety’ “That would be fun as hell.  love Mama”, referring to Kathy Bates’ character from the film. He added “I love Henry Winkler. He’s always gonna be Coach Klein to me.” ‘Waterboy’ earned $186 million worldwide at the box office.

Britney Spears posted another Instagram rant about her family over the weekend. And she said, quote, “For me the real problem . . . is that my family to this day honestly have no conscious whatsoever and really believe in their minds they have done nothing wrong at all!!!! They could at least take responsibility for their actions and actually own up to the fact they hurt me!!!  For me just a genuine apology would help give me closure.” And this time it actually DID result in an apology.  Britney’s mom Lynne Spears dropped a note in the comments saying, quote, “I am so sorry for your pain.  I have been sorry for years. I love you so much and miss you!  Please unblock me, so I can speak to you in person.  Britney, deep down you know how much I love and miss you!  I apologize for anything and everything that’s hurt you!” No reply yet from Britney.

I for one am INCREDIBLY excited about this…Every “Community” fan knows the “six seasons and a movie” line from season two.  But finally seven years later, a movie IS happening. It’ll be made for Peacock with the same cast from season six.  So: Joel McHale (Jeff), Danny Pudi(Abed), Alison Brie (Annie), Gillian Jacobs (Britta), Jim Rash (Craig) and Ken Jeong (Ben).  No word on if Donald Glover (Troy) or Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley) will come back.  And it’s highly unlikely that Chevy Chase would, since his character was killed off, and everybody ended up HATED working with him. Community ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015.  The full series will also be hitting Peacock, but no word when.

Scary season is here!  The horror movie Smile won this weekend’s box office race bringing in $22 million at North American theaters.  The highly promoted Gay Rom-Com Bros didn’t fare as well. The movie finished in fourth place only bringing in $4.8 million.

Billy Eichner’s new romcom completely bombed at the box office — and he appears to be chalking it up to homophobia across the country. The comedian-turned-actor took to Twitter Sunday to acknowledge the low ticket sales — the movie only raked in $4.8 million domestically, placing 4th this weekend — and he’s definitely bummed by the underwhelming turnout … despite the fact the film is getting great reviews. Billy said, “That’s just the world we live in, unfortunately. Even with glowing reviews, great Rotten Tomatoes scores, an A CinemaScore etc, straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up for Bros. And that’s disappointing but it is what it is.” His final thought hits his point right on the head … “Everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo should go see BROS tonight! You will have a blast! And it *is* special and uniquely powerful to see this particular story on a big screen”

Taylor Swift has another move up her sleeve. Taylor is said to be preparing to release a track with Drake, and it reportedly features some controversial subject matter. The track is said to be a secret song recorded during the sessions for Taylor Swift‘s 2017 album, Reputation but it didn’t make the cut because it “was deemed too direct” about Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Taylor is now planning to include their “secret song” on Reputation (Taylor’s Version), an upcoming re-release of her 2017 album. The Reputation re-release is not expected to arrive until next year. Taylor’s her new album Midnights drops on Oct. 21.

Ed Sheeran will stand trial in the US over claims he copied his hit 2014 song “Thinking Out Loud” from Marvin Gaye’s iconic song, “Let’s Get It On”. A judge denied Sheeran’s bid to dismiss the case, saying a jury should decide on the similarities between the songs. The claim over “Thinking Out Loud” was originally lodged in 2018, not by Gaye’s family but by investment banker David Pullman and a company called Structured Asset Sales, which has acquired a portion of the estate of “Let’s Get It On” co-writer Ed Townsend. Seeking $100m in damages, they allege that Sheeran and his co-writer Amy Wadge “copied and exploited, without authorization or credit” the Gaye song, “including but not limited to the melody, rhythms, harmonies, drums, bass line, backing chorus, tempo, syncopation, and looping”.

Fighting long COVID since December 2021, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro is sitting out the band’s upcoming tour. Explaining his situation with long COVID, Navarro wrote “I had hoped for a full recovery by October, but I am still very fatigued and will not be able to join this leg.” Navarro added that he’s “gutted” by his decision to stay home.

This probably happens all the time . . . but how often have you heard someone admit to it? During a show in Atlanta this past Thursday, Lil Nas X announced to the crowd over the PA system that he was in the bathroom taking care of some business.  He said, quote, “I’m backstage, and this is, like, not a part of the show, but I’m taking a mean [poop], so please forgive me.”  He told them he’d be back in, quote, “a minute or two.”  For anyone who still thought it was part of the act, he Tweeted this after the show:  “Lmao people really thought I was joking, I was literally back there dropping demons into that toilet.”

Kelly has been ordered to pay over $300,000 to one of his victims, to cover the cost of medical treatment and psychotherapy for abuse inflicted on her. The victim, who remains anonymous, has accused Kelly of giving her a sexually transmitted disease during one of their encounters. Kelly is already in prison, serving 30 years for racketeering, relating to bribery and forced labor. Earlier this month he was convicted of six out of 13 counts in a trial related to images of child abuse and enticing minors for sex. He was found to have created an elaborate scheme to sexually exploit aspiring young singers and children. Based on his earlier convictions Kelly will not be eligible for release until he is about 80. These new convictions could add years to his existing sentence.  Two further trials are also pending, one in Minnesota and another in Chicago.

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are dropping a new album. Here is what Snoop had to say on Stephan A. Smith’s podcast… When Stephen A. asked about the album’s title, Snoop said, “The first album was Doggystyle.” Nuff said.

“Nothing Compares 2 U” was far and away Sinead O’Connor’s biggest hit.  But you won’t hear it in her new documentary, “Nothing Compares”.  And that’s because Prince’s estate wouldn’t let them use it. Prince’s half-sister says, quote, “Nothing compares to Prince’s live version with Rosie Gaines that is featured on the ‘Hits 1’album and we are re-releasing that album on vinyl on November 4th. “I didn’t feel [O’Connor] deserved to use the song my brother wrote in her documentary so we declined.  His version is the best.” There might be some sour grapes here.  Because Sinead certainly “deserves” this song.  Even though Prince wrote it, she’s the one who made it a massive hit, not him. But Sinead has spoken out several times over the years about how Prince was violent and abusive toward her when they met at his home back in the day.  So maybe that’s why they’re not letting her use it.

Stevie Nicks appears on the upcoming Gorillaz track “Oil”. . . but before she agreed to do it, she had one condition. She says, quote, “Because of all their crazy cartoon videos . . . I want to be a Gorilla, and I want to have big, false eyelashes, and I want to have blonde hair, right?  So that’s what I said.  And so they’re doing it as we speak.” She adds, quote, “I was an honorary Heartbreaker.  I was an honorary Foo Fighter.  And now I’m an honorary Gorilla.  I’m so happy.”

Jack Johnson says he’s being stalked and harassed by a woman who keeps popping up at his shows, trying to get close to him … so now he’s getting court-ordered protection. The singer went to court this week and got a temporary restraining order against a female fan he says recently confronted him at the hotel he was staying at. According to new legal docs…Jack says the woman traveled to Houston on Aug. 26 and got in his face at his hotel … and the interaction was so frightening, not only for Jack but also for the bandmate who saw it all go down, Jack and his band bounced until cops came and detained the woman. Jack had a show that night in the Houston area … and he claims his alleged stalker often buys VIP packages to his shows in order to get close to him. JJ also says she emails him and his management, claiming she’s been the victim of a long-term financial scheme … conning her out of millions of dollars. Jack says he’s worried for his safety because it’s easy for the woman to track his movements … pointing out his tour dates and personal appearances are readily available online. Jack claims the woman’s been hounding him for several years … and says his legal team’s sent her cease and desist warnings, all to no avail.

After what happened to Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in two successive games, the NFL is changing its concussion protocol . . . and some changes could go into effect as early as next week. Last Sunday, Tua got taken down during a game against the Buffalo Bills, and when he got up, he was unsteady on his feet.  He left the game, but came back in later, with the team claiming he just suffered a back injury. Then the Dolphins were in action just four days later, on Thursday night, against the Cincinnati Bengals.  Tua went down hard again, but this time, he ended up getting stretchered off the field. A lot of people are coming down on the Dolphins for letting Tua back into Sunday’s game.  And the NFL Players Association fired the independent neurologist who helped clear him. And in a statement this weekend, the NFL said that changes are needed to, quote, “enhance player safety.” Word has it that one of those changes will be not letting any player back into a game if he demonstrates ANY instability.  (Uproxx)

Fan Dies At Jets / Steelers Game After Falling From Escalator

A man is dead after falling from an escalator at Pittburgh’s Acrisure Stadium. The fan’s fatal fall happened moments after Sunday’s Jets – Steelers game. The man was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. Authorities are investigating what happened. A combination of violence and fandom has caused at least 125 deaths in Indonesia. Supporters of two rival soccer teams clashed with each other and authorities after a match over the weekend. Police began firing tear gas at fans entering the field. The situation was exacerbated by more supporters coming to the soccer pitch. A stampede toward the exit occurred, and many of the victims suffocated. Hundreds of other victims were admitted to hospitals suffering from “lack of oxygen and shortness of breath.” The situation was tenuous from the start. The stadium’s capacity is 38,000, but 42,000 fans were admitted (LINK)
