We now know that the amazing Bob Saget died (LINK) as a result of blunt head trauma. The further report shows he had meds in him for anxiety and seizures. Also he had Covid and had an enlarged heart with 95% blockage on one side. Also, JOHN MAYER has already started working on a tribute song for BOB SAGET (LINK)

After pleading online for its return, police have recovered Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s stolen 1967 Chevy II. Armstrong had posted a pic of the stolen classic car on social media earlier this week, telling fans “This car is near and dear to all our hearts and has been in the GD family for over 30 years.” It was abandoned, but thankfully, in one piece. There haven’t been any arrests made at this time. The Police recovered the car on Tuesday.

Speaking of the police…Sting has sold his songwriting catalog. No for sure price but , it’s worth an estimated $250 million!  This for both his police stuff and his solo stuff.  Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, David Coverdale, Stevie Nicks and the estate of David Bowie have all recently sold their catalogs, too.

BILLIE EILISH is feeling the wrath of Kanye West. At a recent show Eilish stopped her show and got an inhaler for someone in the crowd who was suffering. Then she said to the crowd “I wait for people to be ok before I keep going” Obviously referencing Trwvis Scott and the tragedy when I believe 10 people have died. Kanye didn’t dig that. Both Kanye and Billie are supposed to do Coachella. Kanye says he aint going to play at the show unless she apologizes. “I need Billie to apologize before I perform” She says she “Literally never said a thing about Travis. Was just helping a fan.” Oh by the way Travis Scott was pulled from Coachella because of the Astroworld thing. Oh by the way number 2…Kanye, if he performs, says he is bring Travis with him (LINK)

With the Super Bowl on Sunday obviously they have been rehearsing the halftime show with Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Eminem. It’s always pretty hush hush until it happens day of. To that end if you were outside the stadium you would think the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bon Jovi were playing at halftime. They are blaring the music so no one can hear whats happening inside.  The nice thing is the kids in the nearby houses can fall asleep to Suck My Kiss by the Chili Peppers.

A few more Super Bowl ad teasers are out…

General Motors gave us the full version of their “Austin Powers” reunion with Mike Myers back as Dr. Evil, and Rob Lowe, Seth Green, and Mindy Sterling.  Sadly, there’s no Mini-Me, because Verne Troyer is no longer with us.  But Dr. Evil does have a new grandson, who he calls “Baby-Me”.

DOJA CAT covered HOLE’s “Celebrity Skin” for Taco Bell.  She plays a student in clown school and makes an escape with a group of friends to “Live Mas”.  COURTNEY LOVE even wrote updated lyrics.  (It’s a subtle jab at McDonald’s, with the clowns and the line about the ice cream machine still being broken.  Watch the full commercial here.)

JIM CARREY returns as Chip Douglas from “The Cable Guy” in a teaser for Verizon.  He’s suited up with a tool belt and drill and all.  (Watch the teaser here.)

Uber Eats has a new teaser.  This one stars Nicholas Braun from “Succession” and he’s reminding people that it’s a one-stop shop for Valentine’s day, with strawberries, whipped cream, chocolate, and roses.  (Watch the clip here.)

Halle Berry is surrounded by kittens in an ad that’s airing during the PUPPY BOWL for Caesars Sportsbook and Best Friends Animal Society.  She’s playing with the kittens and encouraging viewers to foster

KEVIN HART’s 17-month-old daughter Kaori recently started talking and by talking I mean cussing. She has the S word down pat. She hears it from him all the time. He says it in front of them but he says it non aggressively. Do you cuss in front of your kids?

When it was rocking this service had some three million subscribers, but it ultimately shut down in 2019 after a slew of technical issues and fluctuating pricing plans that were confusing enough to just avoid it. This service is relaunching this summer. MoviePass will relaunch this summer. The co founder Stacy Spikes bought it out of bankruptcy. There again be tiered plans with different prices. Spiked didn’t say what the pricing would be. He said there will be a virtual credit system that will rollover each month, and you can earn credits for free by watching advertisements ahead of the movie. Eye-tracking technology to make sure the user is paying attention. He said that he wanted to get movie theaters in saying they could lure moviegoers to their locations with perks or credits. Originally they gave subscribers access to unlimited movies in theaters for a monthly fee of $9.95 —  a price that undercut all major theater movie chains and ensured that MoviePass would lose money on those transactions.

‘Grand Theft Auto 5 has sold over 160 million copies with the Grand Theft franchise selling 370 million copies worldwide! Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows gave an update on the band’s upcoming album Wednesday, saying after “four years” of writing, it’s “90% done.”  And apparently has a 78-piece orchestra on it.  Avenged Sevenfold said they would release the new album “before summer” so they could support it with a tour

Sports Report 1

Yesterday the Blues picked up the second half of their season with a game against the Devils at Enterprise Center.  The Devils jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before Klim Kostin scored to make it 2-1 going into the second.  In the second, Brayden Schenn and Justin Faulk scored for the Blues to put them up 3-2.  Unfortunately, three goals in a row from the Devils put them up 5-3 to start off the third.  Schenn scored another to make it 5-4…and then the Devils pulled away scoring 2 more and closing things out 7-4.  Up next, a game tomorrow night at Enterprise against the Blackhawks.  Puck drop is scheduled for 7PM.

The Super Bowl is on Sunday.  The Bengals go in as slight underdogs against the Rams.  The game will kick off from LA at 5:30PM.  The pre-game show will start yesterday.

Thursday night marked the 11th edition of NFL Honors, and some of football’s finest were honored. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers took home his fourth MVP honor, the second most in league history. He joins Jim Brown, Joe Montana, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning as the only players to win consecutive MVP awards in NFL history. Manning holds the most with five.  Meanwhile, Cooper Kupp joined Jerry Rice and Michael Thomas as the only wide receivers to take home Offensive Player of the Year. Defensive player of the year went to TJ Watt from the Steelers.  Ja’Marr Chase from the Bengals picked up Offensive Rookie of the Year.  Micah Parsons of the Cowboys got the defensive rookie of the year.  Mike Vrabel of the Titans got head coach of the year.  Also last night the 2022 Hall of Fame Class was announced.  Tony Boselli, LeRoy Butler, Sam Mills, Richard Seymour, Bryant Young, Cliff Branch, Art McNally, and Dick Vermeil will be going into the Hall.

A MASSIVE trade went down yesterday in the NBA.  We’ve talked since the beginning of the year how Philadelphia 76ers Ben Simmons has been unhappy.  Hell he didn’t practice for most of the season and hasn’t played a game yet.  He was probably the best defensive player last year and just said mentally he wasn’t there.  For the Nets, James Harden has been very unhappy with the way the team has been playing.  It almost seems like he has been tanking – ON PURPOSE – while on the court.  How about I trade you my problem for your problem?  Deal.  The 76ers have traded Ben Simmons to the Nets for James Harden.  The Nets get Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first round picks while the 76ers get Harden.

The 2022 NBA All-Star Draft took place yesterday.  Team LeBron vs. Team Durant goes down next weekend.  Here is how the teams will look.  First the starters:  For Team LeBron its:  Giannis, Steph Curry, LeBron, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Jokic.  The reserves are: Luka Doncic, Darius Garland, Chris Paul, Jimmy Butler
Donovan Mitchell, Fred VanVleet, and James Harden.  Over on Team Durant the starters are: Joel Embiid, Ja Morant, Jayson Tatum, Trae Young, and Andrew Wiggins. Filling out their bench: Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns, Zach LaVine
Dejounte Murray, Khris Middleton, LaMelo Ball and Rudy Gobert

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred announced Thursday that a designated hitter will be implemented in the National League in 2022.  Manfred’s announcement comes as MLB and the Players’ Union continue to negotiate a host of issues amid a lockout. Manfred also announced Thursday a draft lottery will be added as an anti-tanking measure.  The team sides will meet tomorrow but as of right now – they are still hundreds of millions of dollars apart from each other.  When asked about the 2022 seasons starting on time, Manfred said he believes the regular season will start ON TIME.

The U.S. Olympic team is doing a lot better in the medal count than earlier this week.  It was looking bleak for a minute there, but not so bad now. After Nathan Chen and Chloe Kim won gold on Day 6, our freestyle skiing team also took gold in mixed team aerials.  It’s the first time we’ve medaled in aerials since 2010. So that brought us up to four gold medals . . .Unfortunately we didn’t add any medals to the total overnight.  Shaun White finished in 4th place in men’s halfpipe.  He announced recently that he’d be retiring after the Beijing Games, and was pretty emotional after his final run.  And Mikaela Shiffrin made it down the mountain in women’s Super G, but finished in 9th place.  She crashed out in her previous two races. Here’s the latest leaderboard we saw.

  1. Austria:  14. . . 4 gold, 6 silver, 4 bronze.
  2. Norway:  13 . . . 5 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze.
  3. Russia:  12. . . 2 gold, 4 silver, 6 bronze.
(1 of those golds could end up going to the U.S. if one of their figure skaters gets DQ’d for doping.)
  4. Canada:  12. . . 1 gold, 4 silver, 7 bronze.
  5. USA:  10. . . 4 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze.
