Before we jump in to all the juicy stuff I found a fun list of pop culture facts from the 2000’s that I think we should all know and think about for a minute. Did you know… (look it up)

  1. Anne Hathaway was the NINTH choice to play Andy in “The Devil Wears Prada”.
  2. JoeyJC, and Chris from ‘N Sync have cameos in “Star Wars: Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones”.
  3. “Finding Nemo” is the best-selling DVD of all time.
  4. Mike Myers originally recorded his “Shrek” dialog in his normal voice.  After seeing a rough cut of the movie, he asked if he could re-record it in a Scottish accent.  Re-doing the movie to fit his new dialog cost an extra $4 million.
  5. The iPod’s name was inspired by the line, “Open the pod bay door, Hal,” from the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”. (Check out more here.) (Showbiz) – Mike Myers Asked to Recut All of His

Millie Bobby Brown is ENGAGED.  She and Jake Bongiovi . . . the son of Jon Bon Jovi . . . made it Instagram official yesterday. In the picture, Millie shows off her new ring, and some jewelers are estimating it could be worth between $75,000 and $150,000. Millie and Jake have been dating since 2021 . . . or, “three summers”, as Millie says in her caption.  So it’s not too soon in that regard.  But Jake is only 20, and Millie is 19 . . . and the Internet is VERY CONCERNED that she’s too young.

There was a major death on Sunday night’s episode of “Succession” . . . but a lot of people had it SPOILED for them by the “Los Angeles Times”. The paper ran a fake obituary for the character right after the episode was released . . . and a lot of people saw it before they could watch the show. Obviously the “Times” was trying to be funny by printing an obituary for a fictional character, but they could’ve waited . . . even a day would’ve probably helped. (I purposely didn’t spoil it for you, just in case you somehow STILL haven’t heard the news.  But if you click here, all will be revealed.)

One of the most iconic guitars of all time is hitting the auction block, and it’ll probably end up selling for a lot of money.

It’s official. The combined HBO Max and Discover Plus service will be simply called Max.  The streaming service will officially change over this May or June. Sources told the New York Times that the new service will cost $16 a month with a few cheaper ad-supported options.

We don’t know much about the “Barbie” movie yet, but it sounds like it’s going to be pretty out there. In fact, Margot Robbie says.  Quote, “The first time I read the ‘Barbie’ script, my reaction was, ‘Ah!  This is so good.  What a shame it will never see the light of day because they are never going to let us make this movie.’  But they did.” But when she was asked for details, Margot said, quote, “Can’t tell ya!” On a similar note, Simu Liu took the gig after his agent read the script and told him, quote, “If I could stake my career on any one script, it’s the ‘Barbie’ script.  I really think you should do it.'” “Barbie” hits theaters on July 21st. (Variety)

Matthew McConaughey will star in a “Yellowstone” spinoff, after a three-year break from acting. On the “Armchair Expert” podcast, Matthew said, quote, “To go have some structure like, ‘I got a call time, I’ve got lines, I’ve got scenes, I’ve got a character’ . . . That sounds like a vacation right now to me. He also thinks his time away has made him a “different or improved” actor. Quote, “What I have is so much respect for the vocation of acting.  I think I have a healthier relationship.  I’m not looking at it for my survival and my thrive-all.  I think good acting emulates life.  Real life is where this stuff comes from.” (Profanity Warning: You can listen to the episode here, but there are occasional F-bombs.  Go to28:34 for his acting comments.) (CNN)

The new Apple Studios film has been co-written by Hill with Erza Woods. Hill will also direct the feature, which is described as a “dark Hollywood story” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Outcome will reportedly tell the story of Reef, who will be played by Reeves. Reef is set to be a damaged Hollywood actor who faces a crisis in his career and must confront his past as a result. A video from his past is used to extort him in the film, which is being described as a “dark comedy”.

Hill will also produce the project along with his Strong Baby production company partner Matt Dines and the company’s Ali Goodwin (via Digital Spy).

In other news, t came to light recently that Reeves gifted stunt crew on John Wick: Chapter 4 t-shirts bearing the amount of times they died in the movie. According to The New York Times, Reeves gave out the shirts at the end of the shoot, which were “emblazoned with the number of times they were slain” throughout the blockbuster. It’s said for some of the crew, the number was above 20. Many of the stuntmen in John Wick: Chapter 4 were re-used in multiple scenes. During the staircase fight outside the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, 35 stunt crew members were used, many of whom had repeated deaths in the scene.

The new action-packed trailer for The Marvels has arrived – check it out below. A sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, the film also stars Samuel L Jackson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris. In the trailer, Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) and Nic Fury (Jackson) can be seen alongside Kamala Khan (Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Parris). The visuals are soundtracked by Beastie Boys’ ‘Intergalactic’.

It picks up where the last episode of Ms. Marvel left off, when Vellani was shocked after Captain Marvel turns up in her bedroom. From there, we see Larson teaming up with Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Parris’ Rambeau from WandaVision. Complicating matters is the fact the characters keep inter-changing, with their powers interconnected. The trailer seems to suggest fans need to have watched Ms. Marvel and Wandavision to make the links between characters.

The film is set for release on November 10; check out the trailer here:
