The Blues got a late goal from Vladimir Tarasenko in the second..and an early goal from Jaden Schwartz in the 3rd, and that’s all it took for the Blues to pick up the 3-1 win over the Devils last night in New Jersey.  Brayden Schenn assisted on both of those goals and then picked up an empty netter at the end of the game.  Tarasenko scored one and also had 2 assists.  The team is off tonight and takes on the Arizona Coyotes tomorrow night at 7PM at the Scottrade Center.

Some sad news to report…Two-time Cy Young Award winner Roy Halladay died when his small plane crashed in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday. He was believed to be alone at the time of the crash. Halladay started his career with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2008. He spent his final four seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies before retiring in 2013. He was an eight-time All-Star and finished seven times in the top five of the Cy Young Award.  He was 40.

Check this out…it’s the unofficial halfway mark of the NFL season…and we have what your playoff picture looks like if things were to end today.  On top of the AFC is the Pittsburgh Steelers, followed by the Patriots, Chiefs, Titans, Jaguars, and Bills.  In the NFC…it’s the Eagles on top followed by the Saints, Vikings, Rams, Panthers, and Cowboys.

The NBA gave Nike $1 BILLION to take over the design and production of the players’ jerseys for the next eight years.  And so far, everything has been GREAT. Well . . . except they don’t absorb sweat very well, and they keep TEARING APART during games.  And it hasn’t gone unnoticed, LEBRON JAMES’ jersey tore in the first game of the season . . . on national TV. Well, Nike is finally admitting it’s a problem, and they’ve vowed to fix them.  The company says, quote, “We’re very concerned to see any game-day tear, and are working to implement a solution that involves standardizing the embellishment process and enhancing the seam strength.”

UCLA men’s basketball players LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley, and Jalen Hill were arrested Tuesday after the freshmen trio were caught shoplifting. The Bruins were traveling in China for their season opener against Georgia Tech; while the team hasn’t yet made any announcements, it’s likely that UCLA will be without its heralded Class of 2017 recruiting class when it takes on the Yellow Jackets Friday evening. ESPN is saying that the UCLA trio was caught attempting to steal items from a Louis Vuitton store that was next to the hotel. Twenty police officers showed up to the hotel at 8 a.m. and sequestered the Bruins and Yellow Jackets players in a room for question “for hours.” The UCLA players were seen entering a police vehicle and are reportedly no longer with rest of the team, which departed for Shanghai in the afternoon. The players could face between three and 10 years in prison if convicted on shoplifting charges.

Josh Gordon has played 35 games in his NFL career, and he has been suspended for 45. That doesn’t include the 12 games he missed last season after checking himself into rehab for drugs and alcohol, his first of two inpatient stints. He hasn’t played in the NFL since December 2014. But if all goes well, he’s now eligible to return for Cleveland’s Week 13 game on Dec. 3. Here is what Gordon said he would do before games…this is insane.  “We would stay at the team hotel and then players are allowed to go back home, get what they need, and then go to the game. So I’d leave the hotel early morning, go home, eat breakfast, do my little ritual, whatever it may be, some weed, some alcohol, and then go to the game. And then, I’d definitely be partying after every game, win or lose. Every game. I used to make a ritual of it before every game. If I had already been drug tested that week, or the day before the game, I knew I had a couple days to buy to clean my system. Even before I was getting tested for alcohol, prior to my DWI in 2014, I would take the biggest bong rip I could. And try to conceal all the smell off all my clothes. I’d be dressed up to go to the game. A bunch of guys smoke weed before the game. But we’re not talking about them.  I would have these little pre-made shots. I used to love Grand Marnier. I could drink it down smooth. I could usually drink a lot of it. But if it wasn’t that, it might be a whiskey or something. And I would drink probably like half a glass, or a couple shots to try and warm my system up, basically. To get the motor running. That’s what I would do for games.”
