George Lucas once said he made Darth Vader leap off the page. The original Darth Vader passed away on Saturday, after a short illness. David Prowse, the guy in the suit not the guy’s voice you hear. JAMES EARL JONES was the VOICE of Vader. But the guy in the suit was British actor DAVID PROWSE. He was 85. Prowse also played Frankenstein’s monster in a couple British films in the early ’70s. And as a former bodybuilder, he helped CHRISTOPHER REEVE bulk up for “Superman”. He was also in “A Clockwork Orange”. That’s where GEORGE LUCAS discovered him. He actually offered Prowse either Darth Vader or Chewbacca. He chose Vader because the villain is always more memorable and more fun to play. Of course, he had no idea he’d have to do the whole thing in a mask. He also didn’t know that his lines would be dubbed by another actor. He once said, quote, “I think [James Earl Jones] did a wonderful job, but I still think I would have done equally as well given the right opportunity.” Adding insult to injury, Prowse didn’t even get to show his face when Vader’s mask is removed at the end of “Return of the Jedi”. They used an actor named Sebastian Shaw for that scene.

Idgaf what they said,”…”I refuse to recognize the name Grogu I’m still calling him Bartles and the shiny guy James I don’t care what anybody says,” a person tweeted… “I’m a little disappointed that Baby Yoda’s name isn’t Kyle.” How about this one… “Grogu??? Add HALSEY to the list of artists who are NOT happy with this year’s Grammy nominations. Which isn’t surprising, given that she didn’t get any . . . and has only been nominated twice in her career. Here’s what she had to say over the weekend in her Instagram Stories . . . quote, “The Grammys are an elusive process. “It can often be about behind the scenes private performances, knowing the right people, campaigning through the grapevine, with the right handshake and ‘bribes’ that can be just ambiguous enough to pass as ‘not bribes.'” She added, quote, “It’s not always about the music or quality or culture. While I am THRILLED for my talented friends who were recognized this year, I am hoping for more transparency or reform. But I’m sure this post will blacklist me anyway.”
The new “Saved by the Bell” debuted last week, and people are already upset over one of the episodes when the characters get their phones taken away, and they’re bsing about who donated a kidney to SELENA GOMEZ a few years back. They say that if they had their phones, they could look it up. It seems like some dumb banter to show how vapid and phone-obsessed the characters are acting . . . not a full-on JOKE at Selena’s expense . . . but Selena’s fans didn’t like it, and started complaining about it on social media. NBC and their streaming service Peacock apologized, along with the producers. They also made an undisclosed donation to Selena’s lupus charity. Selena hasn’t commented, but her friend Francia Raisa . . . the woman who did donate the kidney . . . said she’s worried the episode was making donors feel, quote, “offended and dismissed.” Selena Charts tweeted…Saved by the Bell, That’s disgusting. Selena almost lost her life, jokes about her kidney transplant is NOT funny. Respect Selena Gomez.
I will NOT stand for people saying HALLE BERRY isn’t good in bed. Miss Berry was forced to defend her skills after someone the show “Cocktails with Queens” called her out. The ladies were discussing whether TONI BRAXTON was a good lover, and LISARAYE MCCOY said this (AUDIO) So Halle Tweeted the following at LisaRaye . . . quote, “Ask my man Van Hunt he’ll tell ya all y’all need ta know.” No word yet from Mr. Hunt.
Do you want a street named after you?. Depending on the traffic and the road conditions. There’s an online petition asking that Vancouver name a street after RYAN REYNOLDS. He was born in Vancouver . . . and the petition calls him the city’s “favorite son,” who, quote, “proudly helped elevate the positive profile of his hometown to a worldwide audience.” The petition has accumulated more than 2,900 signatures . . . but Ryan isn’t interested. He Tweeted, quote, “Very kind but hard pass. If traffic sucks everyone will say, ‘Ryan Reynolds is a mess,’ or ‘Ryan Reynolds is really backed up.’ My brothers would enjoy this too much.” Ryan and his wife Blake Lively just donated $250,000 each to shelters for homeless kids in both Vancouver and Toronto.
Some people think Lifetime Christmas movies are cheesy . . . and the actors who star in them might be at a low point in their careers. But maybe that’s not always the case. Remember PATRICK DUFFY from “Dallas”? Well, he’s 71 now, and he JUMPS at the chance to do Lifetime Christmas movies. In fact, he has one coming up called “Once Upon a Main Street”. He says, quote, “When my agent or whomever it is that proffers the offer says, ‘We have an offer from Lifetime,’ I just say, ‘Take it.’ I know what it’s going to be. I don’t know the plot, but I know it’s going to be well-written for the audience it’s trying to get to. “It will be respectful to every character because they always are. The message is always positive: It’s always love wins at the end.” He also doesn’t mind that he’s not the star anymore. Quote, “In the early days, I used to be on the receiving end of the love stick. Now I’m the grandpa in the love relationship. And it’s a blessing to be asked to do these things.”

Baltimore Ravens receiver Willie Snead has tested positive for COVID-19. Snead is the seventh projected starter on the Ravens’ offense to test positive heading into Tuesday night’s game against the Steelers. As of Sunday night, at least 12 Ravens players and eight members of Baltimore’s staff had tested positive over the past eight days. Among the Ravens players who will not face the Steelers include Snead, quarterback Lamar Jackson, and running backs Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins. Snead extends the Ravens’ streak of eight straight days with at least one player testing positive for COVID-19. Over on the Steelers side of things, we know running back James Connor, a coach, and “at least” 3-4 other players have tested positive.
The Chiefs had themselves a record offensive day. More specifically, Tyreek Hill had one of the best receiving games in NFL history until about the end of the 3rd quarter when the Bucs finally sent extra help to stop him. But by then, Hill was the fifth receiver ever to get 260 yards and three touchdowns and the Chiefs were well on their way to a win that pushed their record to 10-1. Patrick Mahomes had his fifth career 400-yard game, matching the total for all other Chiefs quarterbacks in the franchise’s 61-season history. Mahomes, who finished with 452 yards, had 359 in the first half, the most for the opening half in any NFL game in the past 20 years.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired general manager Dave Caldwell after a third consecutive season of double-digit losses. Caldwell has been the Jaguars’ GM since January 2013 and has presided over only one winning season. The Jaguars are 39-86 in his tenure and have lost 10 or more games in every season under Caldwell except 2017. Sunday’s 27-25 loss to the Cleveland Browns dropped Jacksonville to 1-10 this season.

Santa Clara County, home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, announced on Saturday that starting this Monday contact sports would be temporarily prohibited until Dec. 21 at the earliest. The result means that the 49ers, among other local teams, are in search of a new stadium in which they can play. The most likely option is for the 49ers to play their final three home games at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are believed to be willing to accommodate San Francisco. NFL Network also reports that a stadium located in Texas is also a possibility and that the league wants San Francisco to play in an NFL stadium if possible.
Chief of Staff Callie Brownson served as the Cleveland Browns’ tight ends coach for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, making her the first female interim position coach in NFL history. Current tight ends coach Drew Petzing did not travel with the team after his wife gave birth to the couple’s first child. Brownson is in her first season with the Browns, having joined the team after spending time with the Buffalo Bills as a full-time intern. She began her coaching career as an intern with the New York Jets.

The 2020 Pro Basketball Hall of Fame is set to have one of the most star-studded classes in its history. Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett are all slated for induction, but their ceremonies had all been delayed due to COVID-19 precautions. It was originally slated to take place during the summer of 2020, but it was delayed as the virus raged. But as the NBA moves forward with its 2020-21 season without a vaccine, other basketball activities are moving forward with it. That includes the delayed induction ceremony, which will now take place May 13-15.
Mizzou destroyed Vanderbilt over the weekend 41-0…but that’s not the big story from that game. The big story is Vandy’s Sarah Fuller who became the first female to play in a Power 5 football game. She kicked a quib kick to start the second half. And, unfortunately for Vandy, it was the only time she would step on to the filed because they never scored or attempted a field goal.
Alabama is the unanimous No. 1 again in The Associated Press college football poll as the top eight teams in the rankings held steady for the fourth week in a row. And finally – remember the Olympics that were supposed to happen this summer? Postponing the Tokyo Olympics by one year will cost an estimated $2 billion! The Olympic International Committee has said it will chip in $650 million to cover some of the delay’s cost. It was already set to be the most expensive Summer Games ever. The official cost was set for $12.6 billion but an audit earlier this year said it would cost at least twice as much. The Olympics open July 23rd, 2021, with over 15,000 athletes involved. There is no word if spectators will be allowed at any of the events.
