HOWIE MANDEL got COVID earlier this month . . . and since he’s vaxxed and boosted, his symptoms were mild.  His PHYSICAL symptoms, that is.  Mentally, it was torture to quarantine for 10 days.  “I went insane.  I still feel like I’m recovering from that, the insanity.  And I’m not joking.  I got incredibly depressed, incredibly neurotic. “My only panacea to my mental health and my physical health is distracting myself.  You can’t distract yourself for 10 days alone in a room.”

After HAILEY BIEBER had that mini stroke, she had to have surgery recently to get a hole in her heart closed. The doctors think her stroke was caused by a blood clot from three things: starting birth control, having Covid-19, and going on a long flight to Paris and back without moving around or wearing compression socks. In a follow-up doctor visit, it was discovered that Hailey had a small opening in her heart.  Because of her condition, her blood clot traveled through this opening and up to her brain. She went through a recent procedure to close the hole. Hailey has to take daily aspirin and blood thinners, but on the plus side, she’s no longer feeling any symptoms from the stroke or the hole in her heart (LINK)

OLIVIA WILDE left husband Jason Sudeikis for Harry Styles not long ago. Olivia and Jason have 2 kids. So the relationship is over. Divorce is looming. Papers need to be served. Olivia was presenting her new movie “Don’t Worry Darling” at a Las Vegas convention called CinemaCon, when someone in the front row approached the stage and slid a manilla envelope marked “personal and confidential” toward her. Olivia said, “This is for me?” . . . then picked it up and looked inside.  She barely reacted . . she just said “Thank You,” and continued with her presentation. Which is impressive, because what was inside were custody papers from her ex JASON SUDEIKIS, regarding their two kids.  That’s right . . . Olivia got SERVED right there in front of everyone. A so-called “source” says that Jason had no idea when or where Olivia would get served, that’s up to the company tasked with handing her the documents.  And he never would have condoned it happening the way it did. It’s interesting that some rando could just get into the building, and was allowed to get that close to Olivia.  The producers of the event say they’re reevaluating their security procedures (LINK)

30 years later, Michael Keaton is back as Batman! I guess those same  Cinemacon attendees got the first look at Keaton as Batman in the trailer for The Flash, starring Ezra Miller.  In the trailer, The Flash asks “Are you ready?” to join the multiverse with the camera panning to Keaton as Batman.    Keaton then asks “You wanna get nuts?  Let’s get nuts.”, a reference to his iconic line in 1989’s Batman. The Flash hits theaters on June 23rd, 2023.

The Batman is getting a sequel, with Robert Pattinson set to return.  At CinemaCon, The Batman director Matt Reeves was on hand to announce the news that he will write and direct the follow-up film. Released in March, The Batman is currently the highest-grossing movie of 2022.  At the global box office, the film has grossed more than $750 million to date.None shared any details on the sequel’s plot.

Did you know the Marvel Cinematic Universe has never had a character say the full F-word?  A few characters have started to say it, but that doesn’t count.  OSCAR ISAAC tried to change that on “Moon Knight”.  Key word: tried. Oscar was inspired by this viral video of an English kid who gets a surprise punch in the face, and responds with a, quote, “Oh [eff], I can’t believe you’ve done this!”  So he thought he could pay homage to it.  In an interview with “Screen Rant, he said, quote, “I did a lot of takes where I actually say, ‘Oh, [eff]’ and I thought, in Disney, because it’s TV or whatever, that you get one F-bomb.  “But ultimately . . . We don’t even get the one, so we had to change it.” “Moon Knight” has a TV-14 rating.

Yesterday the Cardinals and Mets had a little day baseball and things were chippy – as they have been all season.  A few days ago we saw Max Scherzer yelling “Sit the Eff down” to the Cards bench at one point.  It’s been pretty on edge.  Well – as far as the game is concerned…Cards won 10-5.  Arenado had a day with 3 RBI and went 3 for 3.  HOWEVER – it was what happened in the 8th that people are talking about.  The Mets threw at Arenado and some words were exchanged.  That led to the benches clearing and an actual fight breaking out.  The bullpens cleared as well and Giovanny Gallegos hurdled the fence and ran towards the field.  People are talking about Stubby Clapp taking down Pete Alonso…which is hysterical.

When Pete Alonso was asked about being taken to the ground by Stubby Clapp…here is what he had to say

Outfielder Jon Jay, who spent the first six seasons of his major league career with the St. Louis Cardinals and helped them win a World Series in 2011, has announced his retirement from baseball. He shared the news late Wednesday afternoon on Twitter.

Jay, 37, was a second-round pick of the Cardinals in 2006. He was called up in 2010 and wore the Cards uniform for 757 games. Jay was a key member of the 2011 World Series club and emerged as the everyday center fielder after Colby Rasmus was traded to the Blue Jays at the deadline. The Cardinals dealt Jay to San Diego in exchange for Jedd Gyorko prior to the 2016 season. After one year with the Padres, he also spent time with the Cubs, Royals, Diamondbacks, White Sox and Angels.

The 16th and final NHL playoff spot was filled Wednesday as the Dallas Stars clinched a berth thanks to a shootout loss by the Vegas Golden Knights against the Chicago Blackhawks. Dallas is in, Vegas is out.  With the loss, the Golden Knights will miss the postseason for the first time in franchise history. So here is how things look….in the West….Colorado takes on Nashville, the Wild take on the Blues, the Flames meet with the Stars and the Kings and Oilers go at it.  In the East…it’s the Panthers and Capitals, the Leafs and Lightning, the Hurricanes against the Bruins and New York vs. Pittsburgh.

The NFL Draft starts tonight.  Every year, people tune in to see which college athlete will get drafted first.  And … I ask you … any idea who is being talked about having the potential to be the first overall draft pick?  Yup…me neither.  According to NFL on CBS, Offensive Lineman from Alabama Evan Neal may be picked 1st by the Jaguars.  And according to Bleacher Report, they could be looking at defensive ends Aidan Hutchinson or Travon Walker.  Also being predicted as a potential first pick, Kayvon Thibodeaux from Oregon, Ahmad Gardner from Cinci, Derek Stingley Jr from LSU, or Offensive Linemen from Mississippi State Charles Cross.

Last night, two more teams advanced in the NBA playoffs.  The Bucks finished off the Bulls as they won their series 4-1.  Also, the Nuggets couldn’t hold off the Warriors and they win that series 4-1.  Today we’ve got three games on the schedule.  The 76ers look to knock out the Raptors, the Suns could finish off New Orleans, and the Mavs can eliminated the Jazz.

The Lakers front office is reportedly blaming LeBron James and Anthony Davis internally for acquiring guard Russell Westbrook during the offseason ahead of the 2021 season.  What looked like the perfect team—one that featured James, Davis, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, Dwight Howard and more—on paper turned out to be one with no postseason appearance and 49 losses. James and Davis lobbied heavily to the team’s front office to acquire Westbrook. In doing so, the franchise sent key contributors from its championship-winning team in the Bubble and the 2020-21 season—Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, K.C.P — to Washington to get him. The failed project from James and Davis advocating for Westbrook did not pay off.

NASCAR is making driver DENNY HAMLIN undergo sensitivity training, after he shared a RACIST meme directed at fellow driver KYLE LARSON. Last Sunday at Talladega, Larson caused KURT BUSCH to crash while trying to move up the pack during the final lap. Larson’s mother is Japanese-American . . . so Hamlin thought it would be funny to post a clip from “Family Guy” of a Japanese woman driving recklessly and causing multiple people to crash. He put Kyle’s name over the woman, and spliced it with footage from the actual race.  After catching hell for it, Hamlin took the video down and apologized . . . and admitted it was offensive. Quote, “It was a poor choice of memes and I saw how it was offensive.  It came across totally wrong.  I apologize.” Here’s the kicker: Kyle Larson may be the victim this time, but HE had to undergo sensitivity training himself a couple years ago, after he was recorded using the N-WORD during a virtual race. He later said he realized, quote, “how little I really knew about the African American experience in this country and racism in general.”
