Doug Jones Wins and Roy Moore Won’t Concede

Democrat Doug Jones beat Republican Roy Moore in the special election for Alabama’s Senate seat yesterday.  He’s the first Democrat to win a Senate seat there since 1992.  Here’s part of his victory speech, and Roy Moore’s speech right after, where he didn’t concede.  (Moore is referring to an automatic recount that’s triggered when you win by only half a percentage point.  But Jones was at 49.9% and Moore was at 48.4% last night, a difference of 1.5%, so that probably won’t happen.)

A Chinese Daredevil Fell to His Death from a Skyscraper

A 26-year-old Chinese daredevil named Wu Yongning fell to his death while attempting a stunt on a 62-story skyscraper.  It happened back in November but the story is everywhere now.

He was doing pull-ups off the side of the building and must have misjudged how many he could handle.  He started to struggle, and then lost his grip and fell about 45 feet to a terrace below.

Wu is a so-called “rooftopper,” and he’s famous for climbing tall buildings without safety equipment.  He has a huge following on social media.

According to reports, this stunt was going to earn him $15,000.  He was planning to propose to his girlfriend the next day and was going to use the money for the wedding and for medical treatment for his sick mother.

(WARNING!!!  These are the last moments of this man’s life.  Search for “Wu Yongning Films His Own Death.”  It happens of 0:55.  Here’s the story.)

A Guy Tries to Intervene in a Couple’s Fight . . . and Gets Thrown Off a Bridge

It’s hard being a Good Samaritan these days, when it seems like everyone in the world has gone INSANE.

A 25-year-old guy named Gregory Rottjer from Derby, Connecticut was arguing with his 22-year-old girlfriend Jennifer Hannum on a bridge on Thanksgiving.

It looked like it was really escalating, so a guy who was walking by tried to intervene to make sure everything was okay.

And . . . Gregory THREW HIM off the bridge.  He fell 45 feet, into ice cold water.

Fortunately, he was rescued quickly and he survived, but he was seriously injured and is STILL recovering.

The police just finished their investigation, and Gregory was arrested on Tuesday for attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment.

And Jennifer was arrested for interfering with police because she lied to the cops when they interviewed her.

Someone Bought All the Toys at a Goodwill Store and Gave Them Away to Kids

A bunch of families were at a Goodwill store in Fort Collins, Colorado on Saturday when an employee got on the intercom and announced that every single kid got to pick out a FREE TOY.

Someone wrote a big check to buy ALL the toys in the store.  So every kid who came in that day got one.  And this isn’t the first time it’s happened.

The same guy has been doing it every year for almost a DECADE, and never reveals his name.

The employees know about it beforehand, and set extra toys aside to make sure they have enough.  Each kid can either choose a toy, a stuffed animal, or a children’s book.

A guy named Todd Wakefield was the manager of the store the first year it happened, and works at the corporate office now.  But he made a point to come back for it this year, because it’s such a cool day.

They didn’t reveal how much the guy who does it spends each year.  But he doesn’t want any credit for it.  He says he just likes to give back.
