King Scott released a new hit cover song called Even Flow from Pearl Jam One of the funniest comedy franchises of all time is getting a reboot.  A new “Naked Gun” movie is in the works, starring Liam Neeson. That’s an interesting choice, because his name is so similar to the star of the original movies, Leslie Nielsen.  And, just like Leslie, Neeson goes into it having been known primarily for serious roles. Technically, Leslie Nielsen’s big break in comedy was “Airplane!” in 1980 . . . which led to the short-lived TV series “Police Squad” . . . which was then spun off into the “Naked Gun” film franchise. There were three “Naked Gun” movies, in 1988, 1991, and 1994.  Nielsen continued working . . . mostly in “spoof”-style comedies . . . until his death in 2010. This isn’t official, but there’s word that Neeson will play the SON of Leslie Nielsen’s character, Lieutenant Frank Drebin (LINK) Keanu Reeves has played a time-traveling rocker and a revenge-seeking assassin, but he recently told ‘Kimmel! EXACTLY what superhero he would want to be if he joined the Marvel Universe. Nicolas Cage played the motorcycle stuntman with the flaming skull in 2007 and 2012. Reeves, a self-professed comic “nerd”, also has one of Hollywood’s most incredible motorcycle collections. MCU boss Kevin Fiege once said that he talks to Keanu Reeves “for almost every film we make”. Lately we’ve been hearing a lot of negative stories about Bill Murray . . . and here’s another one: Rob Schneider was on “The Tim Norton & Sam Roberts Show” on Sirius yesterday, and he said Murray HATED the cast of “Saturday Night Live” when he came back to host. He even called it a “seething” rage, and said it was really obvious.  It was also directed at two guys more than the others:  Chris Farley and Adam Sandler. Schneider speculated that maybe Bill hated Farley because he saw him as another John Belushi . . . a close friend who he watched kill himself with his out-of-control behavior. As for Sandler, he said, quote, “[Bill] just wasn’t into that groove of it, you know?  And Sandler was just committed to it.” Rob said Bill seemed to hate HIM the least, which he took “great pleasure” in. The “American Music Awards” announced their nominees yesterday.  Here are some highlights: Bad Bunny leads with eight nominations, including Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Pop Artist. BeyoncéTaylor Swift, and Drake follow with six.  They’re all also up for Artist of the Year. AdeleHarry Styles, and The Weeknd each have five, and join the others in the Artist of the Year category. Elton John made history as the longest-recognized artist in AMA history.  He’s nominated for Favorite Touring Artist and for Collaboration of the Year for “Cold Heart – PNAU Remix” with Dua Lipa. The new categories this year are Favorite K-Pop Artist, Favorite Afrobeats Artist, Favorite Rock Song, and Favorite Rock Album. You can start voting now over at Billboard.com.  The show airs live on Sunday, November 20th at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.See the complete list at The AMAs.com (LINK). Mark Wahlberg recently moved from Hollywood to Nevada to give his family a better life. He says, quote, “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there. So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us.” He also wants to build a “state-of-the-art studio” and create “Hollywood 2.0”, so he doesn’t have to travel too far for work. Jack Black had the most awesome interaction with a young “School of Rock” fan.  The little boy is in a wheelchair, as Jack squats down and finds out that his favorite part of the movie is the bonus track, “In the End of Time”.  Jack breaks right into it, then the little boy finishes the tune. “Days of Our Lives” moved from NBC to the Peacock streaming service last month . . . and dove straight into the GUTTER.  Last Thursday’s episode featured the first THREE-WAY in the history of daytime TV. If it matters to you, the characters involved were Allie Horton, Chanel Dupree, and the very lucky Alex Kiriakis.  Well, you might want to check on Grandma, because chances are she is NOT okay.  A lot of longtime viewers who somehow know how to navigate social media have been complaining.  Here are some of their comments:

  1. “DAYS of our Lives is disgusting now!!  I have watched for over 40 years.  I didn’t know it could get any more disgusting but now they have young people having threesomes!  No wonder our country [is] spiraling out of control.”
  1. “Today’s episode was disgusting.  Days has gone too far with the Allie, Chanel, Alex storyline.   This is obscene.  I’m done!”
  1. “Well today’s show with the threesome was the last straw.  I’ve been trying to stay with the show because I have watched it since I was a kid and I’m 59, so a long time.  But I’m done. This is just too much and I don’t support their views anymore.  It’s so sad but the move to Peacock is going to be the end of the show for the long timers.  Makes me mad they took it away from us.  Bye Days.”
  1. “I’m really shocked and highly disappointed in Days bringing on a threesome.  It’s an all-time low for me for Days to be so desperate to do this.  Where do you draw the line, writers?”

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick were among the victims of Bernie Madoff’s infamous Ponzi scheme.  And in a new interview, Kevin admits that they lost MOST of their money. He says, quote, “There’s obvious life lessons there.  You know, if something is too good to be true, it’s too good to be true.  “And when something like that happens, you know, you look at each other, then you go, ‘Well, that sucks.  Let’s, roll up our sleeves and get to work,’ you know?” He adds, quote, “We’ve made it this far.  Our kids are healthy.  We’re healthy.  We can still both work and certainly, you get angry and stuff, but I have to say that there were a lot of people who were much worse off than we were.” NEW IN THEATERS THIS WEEKEND:

1.  Halloween Ends is in theaters and Peacock.  (46/61)

2. “Till(PG-13) (100%) This is the emotionally devastating true story of one of America’s most notorious hate crimes, the murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till, who was kidnapped, tortured, and lynched by white supremacists in 1955. NEW MUSIC OUT TODAY: • “A Very Backstreet Christmas”, Backstreet Boys. • “Return of the Dream Canteen”, Red Hot Chili Peppers. • “Being Funny in a Foreign Language”, The 1975. • “Dirt Femme”, Tove Lo. • “Complete Collapse”, Sleeping with Sirens. • “The Gang’s All Here”, Skid Row. There’s a new documentary (LINK) coming out called “Let There Be Drums!”  It features several famous drummers.  Here are just a few.  Beginning with Taylor Hawkins, then Ringo Starr, Chad Smith, and Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead. The movie is directed by filmmaker Justin Kreutzmann, son of Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann.  It is set for both a theatrical and Prime Video and Apple TV+ release on October 28th, followed by a DVD release on November 1st. TMZ says that Brandy – the R&B singer –  has been hospitalized after a possible seizure at her home in Los Angeles.  Sources said EMTs were sent to Brandy’s house around noon on Tuesday.  On Wednesday, Brandy posted an update on her condition on social media.  She wrote, “To my beloved fam, friends, and starz thank you for sending love and light my way. I am following doctors’ orders and getting the rest I need due to dehydration and low amounts of nutrition. Thank you for your prayers and support. Grateful for you all, see you soon.” Carrie Underwood may think she’s got the market cornered when it comes to avenging yourself against an unfaithful man.  But she’s got nothing on Garbage singer Shirley Manson. When she was around 18 years old, Shirley did a little more than slash some truck tires. She says, quote, “I took a crap on a cheating boyfriend’s breakfast cereal.  I’m not ashamed; I’m rather proud of it. “A dear friend did similar when she discovered her girlfriend was cheating and said: ‘While I was doing it, I thought of you.’ “I recommend it as an act of revenge.  It leaves you feeling empowered and gleeful.” If you’re looking for something REALLY disturbing to watch for Halloween, this might be your ticket: There’s a movie called “Terrifier 2” that started rolling out in theaters last week, and the buzz on social media is that it’s so graphic and disturbing that it’s making people vomit and pass out. One person posted a picture of their friend being treated by paramedics and said, quote, “My friend passed out and the theater called an ambulance.  Highly recommended.” Another said, quote, “The guy behind me passed out cold and crashed into my chair.  Another guy left because he didn’t feel good, I overheard him say and walking out theatre door I heard a guy puking hard & loud in the bathroom.” Yeah, it could all be hype . . . but if you’re looking for something extreme, it might be worth a shot. “Terrifier 2” features a villain called Art the Clown.  He was in a few short films before making his feature debut in the 2013 anthology film “All Hallows Eve“.  Then he got his own movie, “Terrifier”, in 2016. Looking for some child-friendly horror movies to watch with the family this Halloween?  The “Hollywood Reporter” put together a list of 23 that should do the trick.  Here are the highlights:

          1. “Hocus Pocus”,  1993.  And of course, the brand-new sequel.
          1. “Beetlejuice”,  1988.  This one’s got some swearing, including an F-bomb, and mild sexuality . . . plus some pretty legit scares, so may not be great for the younger kids.
          1. “The Addams Family”,  1991.  There’s also a direct sequel, “Addams Family Values”, plus “Addams Family Reunion” and the 2019 animated flick, once again titled, “The Addams Family”.

(The Netflix series “Wednesday” doesn’t premiere until November 23rd.)

          1. “Halloweentown”,  1998.  A Disney Channel original that spawned three sequels.
          1. “Ghostbusters”,  1984.  There are now two direct sequels, but don’t sleep on the all-female reboot from 2016.  It’s not as bad as all the Internet toxicity tried to make it out to be.
          1. “Twitches”,  2005.  Remember Tia and Tamera Mowry?  Here they play twin witches separated at birth.
          1. “Casper”,  1995.  The more Christina Ricci you pump into your holiday season, the better.
          1. “Gremlins”,  1984.  This one’s got a bit of a mean streak and some really dark humor . . . so again, probably not for the youngest of the young.
          1. “The Nightmare Before Christmas”,  1993.  As if this one’s not already on your list.
          1. “Coraline”,  2009.  A true masterpiece.

(Check out the rest of the list here (LINK).  It’s interesting they didn’t mention Rob Zombie’s new “Munsters” movie.) CELEBRITIES CELEBRATING A BIRTHDAY Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is 28.
