Though Tony Dow, a TV icon for his performance as Beaver Cleaver’s sweet big brother Wally on “Leave It to Beaver,” reportedly died Tuesday at 77, his wife has since come forward to confirm he is alive and breathing, albeit in hospice care. Dow had announced a cancer diagnosis two months ago. His Facebook page prematurely confirmed sad news: “It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share with you the passing of our beloved Tony this morning. Tony was a beautiful soul — kind, compassionate, funny and humble. It was truly a joy to just be around him. His gentle voice and unpretentious manner was immediately comforting and you could not help but love him. The world has lost an amazing human being, but we are all richer for the memories that he has left us. From the warm reminiscences of Wally Cleaver to those of us fortunate enough to know him personally — thank you Tony. And thank you for the reflections of a simpler time, the laughter, the friendship and for the feeling that you were a big brother to us all. We will miss you.” The post was later deleted. TMZ confirmed Dow was still alive as of Tuesday afternoon.
Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and other cast members from “That ’70s Show” filmed appearances on the upcoming Netflix spinoff “That ’90s Show”. And Ashton called the experience both “super nostalgic” and “really odd.” The decision to go back was kind of a no-brainer, though. He says, quote, “Mila and I were contemplating it. We thought, ‘Listen, we’re only in the position that we’re in because of that show, so let’s just go back and do this.’ We just went back and had fun for a week. It was so random and fun.” Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, and Wilmer Valderrama also filmed appearances. The show brings back Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith as Kitty and Red Forman, who are spending the summer watching their granddaughter . . . who’s the daughter of Topher and Laura’s characters.
Sexism, racism and dress codes are no match for the Rockford Peaches’, as seen in a new trailer for Prime Video’s A League of Their Own series. Adapted from the 1992 film, A League of Their Own follows the women who formed their own professional baseball league. Per the logline, the series will take “a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths toward the field, both in the league and outside of it.” All eight episodes drop Friday, Aug. 12.
The Kardashians are beefing with one of the institutions that helped make them who they are: Instagram. Their problem is that it’s been pushing videos and recommended content over photos lately. It all started when one Instagram user posted this message: “Make Instagram Instagram again. Stop trying to be TikTok, I just want to see cute photos of my friends. Sincerely, everyone.” Both Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner agreed with that sentiment, so Instagram CEO Adam Moressi posted a video addressing it. He said Instagram is still committed to supporting photos . . . but he added, quote, “I need to be honest. I do believe that more and more of Instagram is going to become video over time. “We see this even if we change nothing. We see this even if you just look at chronological feed.”
You know how that app Celebrity Jets tracks famous people’s ridiculously short private jet flights that burn tons of fuel? Well, Drake came to his own defense after being dragged for it. He said, quote, “This is just them moving planes to whatever airport they are being stored at for anyone who was interested in the logistics . . . nobody takes that flight.” Some people are defending Drake . . . like one fan who said, quote, “Time is money folks . . . if you hating, you’re broke.” But others aren’t buying his excuse. Quote, “It’s still using the same amount of fuel regardless of whether it’s carrying people or not.”
It’s not unusual for people to ask Steve-O to do things. In fact, he does a lot of things, like give Post Malone a tattoo or allow a swarm of bees to literally engulf his genitals. So when he was asked to appear in a commercial with Ryan Reynolds and promote a new ad brand while eating the world’s hottest pepper, it would be a little upsetting if he didn’t do it. The new ad, which is a brilliant move from MNTN, features Steve-O explaining how he built an ad campaign for his hot sauce, Hot Sauce For Your B-hole, which is a real thing that exists. The duo explains how to quickly and easily make an ad for his hot sauce. But it’s really not that easy for Steve-O, who slowly descends into madness
During a recent TikTok challenge, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the rudest celebrity she’d ever met. Well, Candace reached out to JoJo to find out why, and it turns out it was no big deal. It happened during the “Fuller House” premiere, when JoJo was just 11 years old. She asked Candace for a picture, and Candace told her, quote, “not right now.” But then she went and took pictures with other people on the red carpet. Candace says JoJo told her she was shocked the whole thing went viral, because it was no big deal. JoJo also told her that she now understands how hectic things can get on the red carpet. But Candace apologized to JoJo . . . and to JoJo’s mom. And she told her, quote, “Please know that as a mom, it breaks my heart that I made you feel that way and I’m sorry to your mom, too, that I did that to her daughter.
I know if anyone crosses my kids, mama bear comes out.”
There’s so much yelling and screaming and kicking and thrashing over cancel culture. So how about a THOUGHTFUL take? The BRILLIANT comedian Patton Oswalt’s got that. Check it out: Quote, “I think that comedians deserve context in what they say. You shouldn’t just ‘cancel’ out of context, but I also think comedians have a responsibility to evolve and to try to push things forward. The whole battle over wokeness, it’s nothing new. This happened in the ’80s, it happened in the ’90s and it’ll happen again in another form.” He adds, quote, “The other thing I’d say is that comedy has always worked better with restrictions. “Think of the restrictions that Richard Pryor and George Carlin had, and before them and they found clever, brilliant ways around whatever the restrictions were, that’s what made it so fun and thrilling. There should always be taboo subjects and then there should always be clever ways to talk about them. You want both of those things. But like, if everything’s allowed, then there’s no thrill to the comedy.”
Judas Priest gets into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, but not the way most other acts do. They’re getting the “Musical Excellence Award”. And Rob Halford still isn’t sure how to feel about it. At first, he admits he was, quote, “pissed”. But now he goes back and forth. He says, quote, “Some days, I go, ‘No, it doesn’t matter. We’re in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Be grateful. Shut the hell up.’ “And then there are other days where I’m like, ‘[Gosh] damn, why did they give us the Musical Excellence Award?'” Halford says it’s frustrating, because he feels like Priest is still, quote, “one step away” from a proper Hall of Fame induction.
More than four months after the death of Hank Williams Jr.’s wife Mary Jane, her cause of death has been revealed. The Medical Examiner says Mary Jane underwent liposuction on her back, arms and stomach, and had her breast implants removed during the March 21 surgery. She suddenly became unresponsive the following day, and she died. Her death has been ruled an accident.

The Blue Jays’ leadoff hitter connected in the sixth inning for his seventh career grand slam to turn what was a tie game at the start of the inning into a blowout. That grand-slam was the second of three homers hit against the Cardinals, two off reliever Junior Fernandez. The loss was the Cardinals’ third in four games since the All-Star break. They’ve allowed 25 runs in those losses. Dylan Carlson hit a solo home run for a 1-0 lead with his fifth homer of the season but they sure could have used the team’s two top home run hitters, Paul Goldschmidt and Noland Arenado. Blue Jays 10- Cards 3. They’ll try again tonight in Toronto with a start of 6:07.
• Brittney Griner was in a Russian court on Tuesday as her lawyers tried to explain her usage of cannabis.
• In February, Griner was arrested in Moscow when airport officials found cannabis in her luggage. She later said that the drugs were in her bag by accident.
• The New York Times reports Griner’s attorneys told the court about how medical marijuana “is a popular treatment, specifically among athletes.”
• One of the lawyers said, “With the prescription in place, Brittney may have used it for medical, but not for recreational purposes.”
• Another lawyer for Griner said, “We are not arguing that Brittney took it here as a medicine. We are still saying that she involuntarily brought it here because she was in a rush. The Russian public has to know, and the Russian court in the first place has to know, that it was not used for recreational purposes in the United States. It was prescribed by a doctor.”
• Griner watched the proceedings from a steel cage in the courtroom. She’s expected to testify on Wednesday.
• What started as a joke in a movie has turned into the real thing.

• On Friday, August 5th, a full day of events will be aired, including over 14 hours of live action from Rock Hill, South Carolina.
• Competitions include Dodgeball, Axe Throwing, Pogo Stick Jumping, Wiffle Ball, Kickball, and Cornhole.
Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson is walking away from the NFL — the 27-year-old is reportedly retiring due to a neck injury.
Carson suffered the injury during Week 4 of the 2021 season … and has been unable to suit up for a game since.
NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport says Carson was working out in hopes of getting better … but at this point, there hasn’t been enough progress.
The Seahawks will release Carson with a failed physical designation, which will help him to receive millions in injury protection benefits, Rap says.
The Cincinnati Bengals will be without superstar quarterback Joe Burrow as training camp kicks off — the signal-caller is going under the knife to have his appendix removed. He should be back soon though and ever so slightly faster.
Charles Barkley is naming his price in order to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour … saying he’d hop on board if they offer him a whopping $60 million!!
The NBA legend addressed the reported interest in bringing him on as a commentator with the on Monday … saying he’s more than happy with his current situation with TNT, but a certain number would get him to sign on the dotted line with LIV.
“Well, consider how much money I make now, it would take a really huge number for me to give up my life right now,” Barkley said. Barkley also said despite all the backlash surrounding the tour, he has no issue with guys like Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Brooks Koepka leaving the PGA tour for LIV … ’cause at the end of the day, money talks.
“150 million dollars to play golf 15 times a year? I have no problem with those guys taking that money.”
While Barkley is already throwing out his number, he says LIV has until after he participates in this week’s LIV pro-am in New Jersey to get back to him with an offer.
