New Jack a.k.a. Jerome Young — former ECW pro wrestling star — died at the age of 58 on Friday after suffering a heart attack, his family announced. Young was multiple-time tag team champion during his days with Extreme Championship Wrestling in the mid-’90s… and was often celebrated for his reckless abandon inside the ring (and well, from the balcony). As a result of his wild style — getting hit with chairs, busting through tables, using weapons in the ring — NJ dealt with a litany of injuries throughout his career. While wrestling in ECW, “Natural Born Killaz” by Ice Cube and Dr. Dre famously played during his matches. New Jack split from ECW when the promotion closed up shop in 2001 … but the controversial wrestling star continued to occasionally wrestle over the years. The pro wrestling world is weighing in on the loss … with X-Pac sharing a photo with New Jack, and writing, “I couldn’t help but love New Jack. #RIPNewJack”

Are you guys completely out as far as network programming?  It’s Upfront week for the networks, and the biggest news so far is probably that “Black-ish” is ending after the coming season . . . which will be the show’s 8th.  ABC is also getting rid of the spin-off “Mixed-ish”, and the dramas “Rebel” and “For Life”. CBS is canceling the legal drama “All Rise” and the comedy “The Unicorn”.  Both shows lasted two seasons. NBC for the first time in 50 years is starting a season with NO HALF-HOUR COMEDIES.  The comedies “Kenan”, “Mr. Mayor”, and “Young Rock” will debut early next year . . . . along with two NEW comedies, “American Auto” and “Grand Crew”.  The final season of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” will debut in August.  The final season of “This Is Us” is also being held for 2022 . . . and “The Voice” will only run one cycle this season, instead of the usual two.  On Wednesday nights, you get your three “Chicago” shows . . . “Med”, “Fire”, and “PD”.  And Thursdays are for “Law & Order”. . . “For the Defense”, followed by “SVU”, and then “Organized Crime”.

“MTV Movie and TV Awards”.  Remember, these awards are gender-neutral, so there are no separate categories for men and women.  Here’s who won:

Best Movie:  “To All the Boys:  Always and Forever”

Best TV Show:  “WandaVision”

Best Performance in a Movie:  Chadwick Boseman,  “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”

PAUL MCCARTNEY is 78 years old, and he still has fantastic eyesight.  He doesn’t even need glasses when he reads the newspaper.  Why?  Because he practices EYE YOGA. He learned it from a yogi in India.  Here’s the routine(AUDIO)  He adds, quote, “Your eyes are muscles whereas your ears aren’t, so you can’t exercise your ears.  But your eyes, you can.”

Spiral: From the Book of Saw with Chris Rock  and Samuel L. Jackson easily won an eh weekend grossing $8.7 million from 2,811 theaters here in the states. Still hurting, about 45% of theaters are still closed in North America. Memorial weekend is coming so that should help along with a few big movies coming like Cruella and A Quiet Place Part 2.

Bruce Willis and John Travolta are starring together again for the first time in 27 years. Shockingly it’s an action pic called Paradise City. Production starts this Monday in Maui, Hawaii. Willis plays renegade bounty hunter, Ryan Swan, who must carve his way through the Hawaiian crime world to wreak vengeance on the kingpin, played by Travolta, who murdered his father. It is supposed to be similar to Miami Vice but with bounty hunters instead of cops.   Though Paradise City  technically is the fourth time that Willis and Travolta are billed on a movie together they did Pulp Fiction in 1994. Before that what 2 movies were they both billed in? Willis voiced baby Mikey and Travolta voiced James in Look Who’s Talking and Look Who’s Talking Too which combined grossed over $345M in 1989 and 1990.

CHANCE THE RAPPER has been secretly working on a reboot for “Home Alone”, and it might be called “Hood Alone”. On Friday’s “Tonight Show”, he and Jimmy chopped it up

Matthew McConaughey seems to be serious about a run for Texas governor in 2022. Reportedly he has been calling influential Texans on the down low to get some takes on him running.  FYI,  the actor’s reps had “no comment” on what party he will be affiliated with fi any.

Tiger King’s Joe Exotic who is 58 said on Friday that he has prostate cancer and begged for President Joe Biden to pardon him so he can “go home and get proper medical care and food.” In a series of tweets he said his PSA count came back very high for prostate cancer,  he says he  lost a tremendous amount of weight, he has mouth sores and he wants President Biden to sign that pardon that Trump left behind so I can go home and get proper medical care and proper food. Thank you for all the love and support.” He says his pardon was not granted because he is both too gay and too innocent.  He also announced in a separate tweet that a movie about his life, starring Nicholas Cage, has been canceled.

PETA is not happy with The Offspring’s new music video “We Never Have Sex Anymore”, saying that the chimps in it are being exploited because they are cleaning, driving and hanging at the strip club with actor John Stamos. The band’s singer, Dexter Holland got a letter that said in part “… resurrecting the chimpanzee trade in Hollywood. Dressing up chimpanzees, presenting their fear grimaces as “smiles,”…there isn’t a primate expert alive who doesn’t condemn this kind of old-school exploitation.” PETA also alleges that the chimps in the music video were supplied by a guy who is “notorious” for “failing to meet the minimum standards set by the federal Animal Welfare Act.” And two of the chimps this handler used ended up at the zoo that was featured on the Netflix doc Tiger King.  They want the band to pull the music video. The Hollywood Animals website reads that the company is fully insured, licensed, and permitted worldwide by the likes of the USDA, CA Department of Fish and Game, Los Angeles City Animal Regulation, and more.

PLAYOFF HOCKEY IS BACK!  The Blues start their series with the Avalanche tonight in Colorado.  Puck drop is scheduled for 9PM.  During the regular season the Blues won three and lost 5 against the Avs.  But it’s the playoffs and anything can happen.  Speaking of anything happening….

Lost of OT already this postseason.  Starting things off – on Saturday – the Caps beat the Bruins 3-2 in OT, the Islanders beat the Penguins in OT yesterday afternoon and the Wild got the OT win against the Knights.  Now, the Lightning and Panthers game was close but the Lightning got the 5-4 win in regulation.  Tonight, game 2 of Boston/Washington…Game 1 of Carolina vs Nashville…and…then the Blues game.

Nolan Arenado stayed hot as he hit a homer in his THIRD STRAIGHT GAME but – the Cardinals just couldn’t help him out.  The Padres ended up beating the Cards 5-3 on Sunday Night baseball.  KK only made it through 3 and a 1/3 before getting the hook.  Rough series against the Padres as the Cards couldn’t pick up a win in San Diego.  They are off tonight and then open up a series with the Pirates on Tuesday at Busch.

The playoffs are now officially set for the NBA as well.  The 76ers are first in the East.  They are followed by the Nets, Bucks, Knicks, Hawks, Heat, and then either the Celtics or the Wizards after the play-in tourney..  Over in the West…the Jazz got the top seed and they are followed by the Suns, Nuggets, Clippers, Mavericks, Trail Blazers, and then either the Lakers or Warriors.  Now – there is also the play-in tournament.  In the East, we already mentioned Boston//Washington, and also Indiana and Charlotte play.  In the West..its the Lakers vs. Golden State and the Grizzlies will take on the Spurs to see who gets in.  Things get started with action tomorrow night at 5:30PM.

Warriors point guard Steph Curry clinched his second career scoring title on Sunday against the Grizzlies to cap off a historic year and put himself in some elite company. Curry, who won his first scoring title in 2016, was averaging 31.8 points per game heading into Sunday and needed just three points to keep the title out of the hands of Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal. The 33-year-old scored the title-winning bucket on a baseline floater. Curry and Michael Jordan are now the only players in NBA history who have won a scoring title after turning 33 years old.

Former defensive back Juantarius Bryant said he was the victim of a hoax centered around a fake tryout with the Atlanta Falcons. Bryant explained Saturday someone had reached out to him pretending to be the Falcons defensive coordinator. He drove to Atlanta’s team facility for rookie minicamp, only to discover the team hadn’t invited him. He called it “one of the most embarrassing things that has ever happened to me.” He said: QUOTE “When he told me they have a spot for me at the rookie minicamp, my heart just started racing. It made me start thinking ‘hard work really does pay off.’ Bryant was a first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference defender as a senior in 2019. He finished the year with 107 total tackles and four pass breakups and helped his team claim a share of their first OVC title since 1977.

18 holes and one weather stoppage later, K.H. Lee towered above the field at the AT&T Byron Nelson Tourney. His six-under 66 put him at 25 under for the tournament, three strokes above 2nd place. It was the finishing touch on a consistent four days from Lee, who shot a 65 in each of the first two rounds and a 67 in the third. As for the rest of the field, Jordan Spieth (-18)—who came into the day three strokes off the lead—shot a one-under 71 and finished in a tie for ninth.

Kyle Larson gave Alex Bowman everything he could handle Sunday. But he couldn’t quite catch up to him at the end. Bowman won the Drydene 400 at Dover International Speedway.  Kyle Larson finished second, with Chase Elliott, William Byron and Joey Logano rounding out the top five.
