Florida man beats mechanic with golf club for fixing car too slow, because Florida man – GolfDigest
The list of “Florida man” stories has become the stuff of legend in recent years. And not the good kind of legend. In fact, there are so many that Esquire published “The 90 Wildest Florida Man Stories of 2019 (So Far).” In APRIL! But while it’s tough to keep track of all these wild crime tales (Things like “Florida Man Dances through DUI sobriety test” and “Florida Man Who Allegedly Threatened Family with Coldplay Lyrics Ends Standoff After SWAT Promises Him Pizza”), one jumped out on Friday morning because Florida man struck again. Literally.

Believe it or not, “Joker” has found a NEW way to be controversial, thanks to a scene involving the 1972 song “Rock and Roll Part 2”. The song is by Gary Glitter, a former glam rock star and CONVICTED CHILD ABUSER, who is currently serving a 16-year sentence. The assumption is that Glitter had to be paid for the use of the song, and may even be getting royalties. And that’s not cool . . . especially since everyone’s known for YEARS to stay away from the song. As one person said on Twitter . . . quote, “They’re literally paying a pedophile to use his music in a movie about the consequences of child abuse. I’m off the fence . . . this movie is immoral [B.S.].” (The 75-year-old was jailed for a total of 16 years in 2015 for attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault and one count of having sex with a girl under 13. All six offenses were committed in the 1970s and 1980s. He was first jailed in 1999 when he admitted to possessing images of child abuse.)
Last week’s episode of “South Park” took some shots at China, and mocked Hollywood for shaping its content to please the Chinese government. Naturally, China did NOT like that . . . so they responded by deleting “South Park” from the Chinese Internet. It’s completely gone . . . there are no clips, episodes, or discussions available. And they can easily do that, because, well, that’s China. “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone couldn’t care less. They later issued this “apology“: Quote, “Like the NBA, we welcome the Chinese censors into our homes and into our hearts. “We too love money more than freedom and democracy . . . Long live the Great Communist Party of China! May this autumn’s sorghum harvest be bountiful! We good now China?” They took a shot at the NBA because earlier this week, Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey Tweeted support for the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong. China severed ties with the team, and the NBA freaked out and apologized, because they don’t want to lose Chinese money.
ALEX TREBEK has been standing up to cancer like a CHAMP. But how much longer can he do it? In a new interview, he hinted that his time hosting “Jeopardy!” could be running out. He has said he’s going to keep doing it until it it’s time.
DAVID LEE ROTH recently said he thinks VAN HALEN is OVER . . . and while there’s no OFFICIAL word, it sounds like EDDIE and ALEX could be dealing with some sort of HEALTH ISSUES. Toto guitarist Steve Lukather said, quote, “I’ve been in contact with Ed. We text all the time. I really can’t say much, man. I don’t wanna say anything . . . “[Eddie] and Alex are sitting there laying back and they’re waiting to see what happens next. I think they’re on a hiatus. There’s been some health issues that they’re dealing with and stuff like that.” Eddie was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2000, but he’s been cancer-free since 2002. As far as I know.
On Fallon last week he surprised Taylor Swift with some AMAZING footage of her right after she had Lasik eye surgery. I guess she was drugged up and mom was filing and Swift was less than pleased with her banana selection. So Justin Bieber did a video making fun of it with wife Hailey laughing and filing. Swifties went butt ass crazy on the Hailey ripping her no career and being a nobody.
Last night on “The Tonight Show”, Dane Cook made a joke about the 27 year age difference between himself and his 20-year-old girlfriend. .
In a shocking turn of events Lindsey Lohan is getting fired from the Australian version of The Masked Singer for next season. Citing “complete lack of respect for the time schedule and “her total inability to recognize Australian celebrities even after they are unmasked”. Someone is drafting a “good luck on your future endeavors” email.
KALEY CUOCO married her husband Karl Cook last year, and they don’t even live together. At least not yet. Kaley says, quote, “It’s great . . . we are building our dream house, so we’re gonna be in our home together very soon.” “But as of now, it’s worked out fine for us. I have no problem with it.”
When Disney+ launches next month, it’ll have all kinds of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and “Star Wars” content. Not to mention all 30 seasons of “The Simpsons”. In other words, it’s gonna be huge. But should Netflix be worried? Maybe not. According to a new poll, 60% of people would keep Netflix over Disney+ if they had to choose. 67% of the people surveyed said they plan to sign up for Disney+ next month, and 63% say they won’t cancel their current streaming services for it.
If you’re into the “Scream” movies, this is an experience you won’t want to miss: There’s going to be a party Halloween night at the house that was used in the original 1996 movie. Tickets are 200 bucks and only 150 are available. Also, you HAVE TO be in costume . . . but not necessarily a “Scream” costume. Someone actually lives in the house, but it’s been rented out this weekend, and you can take selfies all over . . . and there will be movies ON VHS in the living room and Jiffy Pop on the stove. Of course, you’ll have to be able to get to Santa Rosa, California . . . because that’s where the house is.
Disturbed frontman David Draiman says that he “would be honored beyond words” if he could sing the U.S. national anthem at next year’s Super Bowl. In part he said “I would be honored beyond words to have the opportunity to try and inspire, strengthen, and give hope, at a time when we need those things more than ever.” And, “Plus . . . it would be nice to have rock represented on SOME level at the Super Bowl, and to prove to everyone that there ARE rock singers out there who can do the anthem as much justice as ANY pop artists out there, and even possibly take it higher.” Gladys Knight sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at this year’s Super Bowl, which was held in her hometown of Atlanta. A hard rock or metal vocalist has never performed the anthem at the annual game, and once again a rock act will not appear during the halftime show. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will perform at Super Bowl LIV, will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on February 2nd, 2020. Disturbed has encouraged fans to enter Draiman’s name in a Billboard poll asking who should sing the National Anthem before the 2020 game. Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie is currently in the lead.
Demi Lovato has apologized for taking a free trip to Israel and posting about it this week on Instagram. “I’m extremely frustrated. I accepted a free trip to Israel in exchange for a few posts. No one told me there would be anything wrong with going or that I could possibly be offending anyone,” “With that being said, I’m sorry if I’ve hurt or offended anyone, that was not my intention.” She added, “Sometimes people present you with opportunities and no one tells you the potential backlash you could face in return.” She also stressed, “This was meant to be a spiritual experience for me, NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT…Sorry I’m not more educated.” She got baptized in the River Jordan during the trip while calling Israel “absolutely magical.” But many of her fans accused her of promoting Israel amid the country’s longstanding conflict with Palestine.
The Beatles Abbey Road debuted in 1969 but it is back in the Billboard 200’s top 10 for the first time since 1970, jumping from #71 to #3 on the chart thanks to its 50th anniversary reissue. The LP sold 81,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the week with 70,000 of that total in pure album sales. Meanwhile, OfficialCharts.com says Abbey Road went all the way to #1 on the latest UK chart, setting a new record for the album with the longest time between #1 positions at 49 years and 252 days. The Beatles previously held that record thanks to Sgt. Pepper, which had a gap of 49 years and 125 days between topping the chart, when its 50th anniversary re-release reached #1 in June 2017.

Yesterday at Busch Stadium, not only did we have ourselves a little day baseball, but we also had a little EXTRA baseball as well. For the Cardinals, the scoring started a little early as both Paul Goldschmidt and Marcell Ozuna got things going in the bottom of the 1st. . The Braves would get one pack in the top half of the third, but the Cardinals would themselves get back a run in the 4th…when Marcell Ozuna stepped back up to the plate. . That made the game 3-1. The Braves then scored three runs in the 5th to take the 4-3 lead. And it was the bottom of the 8th, and Yadier Molina game up to the plate with a runner in scoring position. .Neither team scored in the 9th so it went to extras. Miles Mikolas was called in for a rare relief appearance and he was lights out in the top of the 10th. The Cardinals started their half with a double from Kolten Wong. Paul Goldschmidt was intentionally walked. Ozuna hit into a fielders choice that put Wong at 3rd. Then Yadi stepped up with 1 one in the bottom of the 10th. So – now it heads BACK to Atlanta for the deciding Game 5 on Wednesday. Jack Flaherty will get the start for the Cardinals. The game will be at 4PM St Louis time.
The other NLDS that went down yesterday could have been over as well. However, the Nationals came to play. They beat the Dodgers 6-1 to force a game 5 as well. That series will play the decisive game tomorrow in LA. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30PM. The Yankees have swept the Twins after beating them 5-1 last night. And the Rays stay alive after beating the Astros 10-3. Game 4 is tonight in Tampa. First pitch is scheduled for 6:07PM.
The St. Louis Blues got their first win on the road last night up in Toronto. After a scoreless first, Oskar Sundqvist got things started but Toronto quickly bounced back scoring two goals in less than 3 minutes. But, just before the period ended, Brayden Schenn scored his second of the year and tied things up. Just under 8 minutes in the 3rd, the Blues scored what turned out to be the eventual game winner. With the game winner, Alex Pietrangelo scored his 400th point. Also the game winner was his 23rd which moves him past Al MacInnis for most game winning goals by a Blues defenseman. The Blues will now head to Ottawa to take on the Senators on Thursday. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30PM.
The San Francisco 49ers rolled over the Cleveland Browns 31-3 at home last night in Monday Night Football, remaining unbeaten for their best start in nearly three decades. Things went the 49ers way from the start, with Matt Breida running 83 yards for a touchdown on the team’s first play from scrimmage. San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was 20 of 29 for 181 yards and two touchdowns, but it was an awful night for Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, who completed just eight of 22 passes for 100 yards, threw two interceptions, fumbled twice and was sacked four times.
Pretty much everyone–possibly including Jay Gruden himself–knew that the Washington Redskins were going to fire their head coach after the Patriots plastered them on Sunday. But rather than firing Gruden immediately after the ‘Skins lost 33-7 at home, team owner Daniel Snyder and the team president called him to the team’s headquarters for a 5 a.m. meeting on Monday, at which point they fired him. Offensive line coach Bill Callahan will serve as interim head coach until the ‘Skins find a permanent replacement.
On Friday night, Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey tweeted, “Fight for freedom, stand for Hong Kong,” as democracy-related confrontations continued to rage in the area. Morey quickly deleted his tweet, but not before a slew of fans and dignitaries in China–where the Rockets have a huge following on account of former Houston player Yao Ming–either criticized or severed ties with the team. On Sunday, Morey tweeted, “I did not intend my tweet to cause any offense to Rockets fans and friends of mine in China,” while Rockets star James Harden said
The L.A. Sparks have fired their General Manager after she used the N-word in a post-game rant. TMZ reports the team axed G.M. Penny Toler after she admitted to the tirade. Toler’s rant took place in the locker room following the Sparks’ playoff loss to the Connecticut Sun on September 19. She admitted that she used the word, but said it was not used as a slur toward a player. In a statement released Friday, the Sparks organization said, “Toler was relieved of her duties and will no longer be with the organization, effective immediately.”
