Actress Georgia Engel from “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” has died. She was 70 years old. There’s no word on the cause of death, because she was a Christian Scientist and she didn’t consult doctors. You’ll recognize her voice when you hear it.
Welp, it’s a bold strategy . . . let’s see if it pays off. LORI LOUGHLIN and her husband Mossimo Giannulli have pleaded NOT GUILTY to charges of fraud and money laundering. If things don’t go their way they could end up spending 40 years in prison . . . even though we all know they won’t. They had a chance to take a deal last week, along with FELICITY HUFFMAN and several other parents involved in the college admissions scandal. At that point, they were only facing the fraud charges. The money laundering charge was added for more than a dozen parents who decided NOT to plead guilty. That was probably supposed to convince them to settle up . . . but for now, it’s having the opposite effect.
Former NFL player Reggie Bush set up a GoFundMe in hopes of raising $100,000 for Nipsey Hussle’s kids, He donated $10k to get things started. But, that fundraiser is gone from the internet. Nipsey Hussle‘s family is politely saying no thank you to any fundraising efforts to support his kids — even from celebs — because turns out daddy did good on them. Nipsey made sure his 2 children, Emani and Kross Asghedom, would never have to rely on other people for money. He owned all of his master recordings, his Marathon Clothing store, and he also set up multiple trust funds to make sure his kids and family would never need a handout. Depending were you look the google says he was worth $8 million at time of death.
Justin Bieber‘s getting sued by that photographer he accidentally drove over as he was leaving a church event back in 2017, Justin was leaving a worship service in Bev Hills when he pulled away in his 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup. The photog, William Wilson went down. He posted an Instagram video basically saying it was no big deal. Guess who has now lawered up? Wilson is now suing Bieber, claiming the singer was negligent in the way he pulled out into the street. Wilson says he suffered “permanent disability, emotional damages and general damages.” He doesn’t specify his injuries. Justin immediately pulled over and tried to assist Wilson. He also stayed on the scene until police arrived to take a report. Police eventually decided not to pursue any criminal charges against Bieber … and chalked it all up to an accident, partially caused by camera flashes blinding Justin. Cops also said the photog shouldn’t have been standing in the street. Wilson’s suing Justin for unspecified damages.
The season eight premiere of “Game of Thrones” brought in a series record 17.4 million viewers on Sunday night. That includes 11.8 million television viewers who watched on HBO Sunday night. The rest were viewers who watched two encore presentations, combined with those who streamed the show with the HBO Go or HBO Now apps. It had the “largest night of streaming activity ever for HBO.” The previous record for the show was the season seven finale, with 16.9 million viewers in August 2017. Viewership for Sunday’s premiere was up more than a million viewers from the season seven premiere in 2017.
Nickelodeon announced that it would be reviving several throwback shows, including All That (94-2005). SNL’s Kenan Thompson, who got his start on it is set to produce the reboot — and he wants one very special former cast member to be a part of it. He is hoping Amanda Bynes will do at least one cameo. He said all the other original cast members would be down for it and he wants he too. (Josh [Server] and Kel [Mitchell], for sure. And I know that Lori Beth [Denberg] is down. … I’m hearing Katrina [Johnson] … Angelique [Bates] … [and] Alisa [Reyes]) He hasn’t kept in touch with her so who knows. It would be just cameos I believe for most if not all of them because they have a new set of kids that will be taking over. He is calling it a passing of the torch. Looking for a summer premiere. (The Amanda Show 1999 to 2002.)
Taylor Swift continued to tease fans about potential new music by posting three more pics to her Instagram feed: one of two hands adorned with heart-themed rings and tugging at a bright yellow suit jacket, another of lace-y pink ruffles, and a third of her cats Meredith and Olivia posing on a plush couch. All the photos feature the same caption: “4.26.” Swift also changed her profile picture to fluffy pink clouds, and sparked an international frenzy when billboards popped up around in places like Australia and Japan, with the URL “aprilTwentySix.com”–which redirects to her website. It’s unclear if the singer is dropping a new song or album on April 26.
Remember Billie Eilish’s debut at Coachella when she forgot her lyrics… Her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, has just debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.
Speaking of Coachella, not Eilish, Not Grande but guess who is getting some pub today? It’s a one of the DJ sets. A DJ did a Coachella remix of this…
With Tax Day (April 15th) just passing, a new report says that the Internal Revenue Service (I.R.S.) has filed a federal tax lien against late Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland’s estate, saying he did not pay his federal income tax from 2012 to 2014. The lien lists his ex-wife, Mary Weiland, as his representative. Federal tax authorities filed the lien one week before the tax deadline, claiming Weiland owes nearly $819,000 in unpaid back taxes. Last year, Weiland’s estate was hit with a lien by the California State Tax Franchise Board for almost $250,000. The estate was also ordered by a judge to pay $4,000 a month to the late singer’s children. Mary Weiland, the mother of Scott’s two children, filed court documents stating that his estate had a value of about $1.6 million with an average annual royalties income of almost $265,000. Mary and Scott’s widow, Jamie Weiland, have clashed publicly over the total value of Scott’s estate. Jamie said a while back that Weiland was not a wealthy man by any means
Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has told Australia’s Mixdown magazine that he doesn’t want to wait eight years between studio albums again as the band did with 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. Hammett explained, “We’re hoping to avoid that this time around. We’re in our third year since Hardwired. Maybe we can get a bit more focus and go into the studio a bit sooner. I have a ton of material. I’ve over-compensated, so I’m ready to go anytime.” The band’s “WorldWired” tour is scheduled to last until November 2019, after which it could be time to hop back into the studio. Hammett continued, “When I was 13-14 years old, bands put out albums every year. Seriously, Kiss put out an album every eight months. None of this eight years between albums.”
ARIANA GRANDE’s set at Coachella Sunday night included an appearance by N’ SYNC. Well, not ALL of N’ Sync. One of them was missing. Do I even have to tell you which one? Yeah, it was JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. He actually thought about doing it, but he couldn’t, because he was busy wrapping up his tour and didn’t have time to rehearse. The rest of the guys did “Tearin’ Up My Heart” with Ariana. And yesterday, Justin posted a picture of his former bandmates with Ariana, and said, quote, “You guys killed it last night.” One more quick note about Ariana’s performance: Apparently, the owner of Coachella is a guy named Philip Anschutz, who,it has been reported, has donated money to anti-LGBT Christian groups in the past. But there IS more to those stories. Well, Ariana finished her set with a huge rainbow pride flag on the video screens, and a lot of people took that as a big F.U. to Anschutz. Of course she also headlined his event, helping put millions of dollars in his pocket. And her own. She reportedly made $8 million on the night. So maybe let’s not make her the weekend’s big hero?
She wanted him and now she has him in the fold. Rachel Brosnahan of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel wanted Sterling K. Brown for season 3 of Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He shared the good news on Instagram Monday, writing in part that it is going to be awesome.
Hulu is keeping Shrill around for a second season. It is exec produced by Lorne Michaels and stars Aidy Bryant. The show follows the travails of Annie, a fat woman intent on changing her life but not her body. “I think there is a world where we can squeeze a couple more
in. I’m not going to stay at SNL forever, even though I love it — it’s just really grueling to do both,” Bryant told The Hollywood Reporter last month. “Particularly this fall, we were editing and doing all the music supervision and all that stuff while I was at SNL. So I would do that in the morning, then go to SNL and work all night. And I can’t sustain that forever. I can’t do it.”
There had been rumors for months that RONDA ROUSEY was going to take a break from the WWE after “Wrestlemania 35” to start a family. And after she lost her match and her title that night, it seemed even more likely. Yesterday, Ronda all but confirmed it by posting a picture of herself kissing her husband TRAVIS BROWN, with the hashtag “Impregnation vacation.” Ronda also reportedly broke her hand in her “Wrestlemania” match, so she would have needed some time off anyway. Ronda is signed with the WWE until April 10th, 2021, which means she could still participate in the next two Wrestlemanias, if she wants.

Last night around the league, the Toronto Maple leafs took a 2-1 series lead after being the Bruins. The Hurricanes destroyed the Capitals 5-0 and made that series 2-1 in favor of Washington. The Predators took a 2-1 series lead with a win over the Stars. And the Avalanche beat up on the Flames 6-2 to take a 2-1 lead in that series. Tonight, Columbus has a chance to sweep against Tampa Bay, the Islanders can knock out the Penguins, and the Golden Knights have a chance to go up 3 games to 1 against the Sharks.
Despite the 5-0 loss, the Capitals/Hurricanes game did see some pretty crazy fireworks to start things off. A 19 year old rookie from Carolina provoked Alex Ovechkin to a fight. The two exchanged words, the rookie said “Lets go” and they dropped the gloves. After getting a few decent shots in, the rookie caught 3 solid rights from Ovechkin, and eventually ate one that knocked him out cold. He laid on the ice for a few minutes, was helped off by trainers, and did not come back to the game.
Even though Paul Goldschmidt and Paul DeJong had back to back homers, the Cards were no match for the Brewers, and specifically, Christian Yelich. Russell Wilson is not only getting paid, but he’s going to be staying in Seattle for a few more years. The Seattle Seahawks and Russell Wilson have reached agreement on a four-year, $140 million extension that includes a $65 million signing bonus and makes the quarterback the highest-paid player in the NFL. With the four new year’s added to his contract, Wilson, 30, is now contractually tied to the Seahawks through the 2023 season. In addition to topping Packers QB Aaron Rodgers’ contract as the richest ever in terms of annual average at $35 million per season, Wilson’s signing bonus also sets a new record. Rodgers was first in both categories at $33.5 million and $57.5 million, respectively, on the extension he signed last summer. The deal includes a no trade clause.
As had been expected, Duke’s star player, Zion Williamson announced yesterday that he’s leaving after his freshman season to enter the NBA draft. He is widely projected to be the top overall pick in the draft in June. Williamson helped Duke become the top overall seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament, but the team was beaten in the East Regional final by Michigan State.
One day after Tiger Woods won the Masters for his first major in 11 years, making a career comeback from years of personal and health problems, President Trump tweeted Monday that he will award Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest honor for a civilian. Trump, an avid golfer who has played with Woods, tweeted that he’d spoken to him to congratulate him on his victory and, quote, “to inform him that because of his incredible Success & Comeback in Sports and, more importantly, LIFE, I will be presenting him with the PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM!”
