#CrapOnExtra: Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin Have Been Charged in a Huge College Admissions Scandal – EOnline
More on the college admission scandal After Lori Loughlin allegedly bribed her daughter’s way into college, the teen, Olivia, cashed in. She posted sponsored content on Instagram for Amazon Prime last September, which featured a photo of her in her dorm room at the University of Southern California.“Officially a college student! I got everything I needed from Amazon with @primestudent and had it all shipped to me in just two-days,” she captioned the shot. She was also featured in a Vogue Teen article about the decor of her college living space, where she also touted Amazon Prime. Here she is talking about her lack of enthusiasm for college. Also, Two years before Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli bribed their two daughters’ way into college, Lori was on TODAY and gushed about sending her oldest child off to USC. And of course when news broke of Loughlin’s arrest, TODAY jumped on the opportunity to tweet out a clip from the 2017 interview. “See Lori Loughlin talk about sending her daughter to college in 2017 interview,” the tweet read.
Nothing to hide. Jussie Smollett’s legal team welcomed the decision to allow cameras into the courtroom at his next appearance Thursday on criminal charges. The presiding judge will ultimately decide if the hearing will be videotaped. Smollett, who is facing charges that he staged a phony hate crime against himself, appeared in court with his lawyers, two of his brothers and a sister-in-law. He was not required to appear, but did so “to show confidence in his innocence.” “He will do everything he needs to do,” his rep, Anne Kavanagh said. “He will go the extra mile to cooperate with the process.” During the hearing, Smollett’s attorney said she would welcome cameras to allow the public to “see the evidence and the lack thereof.” Smollett is free on $100,000 bond after being indicted on 16 charges of lying to police, who suspect he enlisted two other black men to help him stage a racist and homophobic attack on January 29th.
Chicago Police did a wellness check at R. KELLY’s pad in Trump Tower, after getting a tip that people there were allegedly going to carry out a suicide pact. It sounds like it was a hoax. Also this…The Catholic church is not happy with Pete Davidson. If you saw his spot on Weekend Update as he talked about R Kelly and first said he is a monster that should go to jail. But if you are still a fan of R Kelly he made this comparison… In a statement, the Diocese of Brooklyn said: “The faithful of our Church are disgusted by the harassment by those in news and entertainment, and this sketch offends millions. The mockery of this difficult time in the Church’s history serves no purpose. The clergy sex abuse crisis is shameful, and no one should ever get a laugh at the expense of the victims who have suffered irreparably.” But on Twitter, both self-described Catholics and SNL fans weren’t having it. One critic wrote: “Being Catholic let me say 1) it’s a joke 2) reap what one sows. You have to acknowledge a problem before you can address it, and with over 100 priest accused it’s a serious problem,” while another said: “As soon as the Catholic Church apologizes for all the damage they have done to children from the 60s…70s…80s…90s…00s…2010s…. The thousands of children Priests have raped and then covered up…. Then maybe Pete can apologize. Hows that?”
We know that MICHAEL JACKSON’s music sales have gone UP since that “Leaving Neverland” documentary put a new spotlight on his alleged atrocities with young boys. But his radio airplay went DOWN. The same thing didn’t happen with R. KELLY. His sales didn’t see much of an increase when HIS alleged crimes hit the headlines again. But his airplay DID. It jumped 71% last week . . . the same week he LOST HIS DAMN MIND in that interview with GAYLE KING.
Yesterday I mentioned Jose Canseco is accusing Alex Rodriguez of cheating on new fiance’ Jennifer Lopez with HIS ex wife Jessica Canseco. He told him to stop being a cheater and oh lets fight too he said. She actually redownloaded the Twitter app so she could post this…”I have known Alex for many years and haven’t even seen him for over 5. I certainly did not sleep with him. I am friendly with both him and Jennifer [Lopez]. As for Jose he can keep playing with his Alien friends.” …”In fact I don’t even get on twitter had to download app again and don’t watch tv and had no idea any of this was going on,” she admits. “Last time I saw Alex he was with Torrie [Wilson] and I brought my boyfriend over for dinner. We are just friends my god.”
To whom do I refer? “She redefined and reinvigorated…(her format)… propelling the genre to new heights.” Her show debut in 1996. Yesterday we had Mathew McConaughey talking you to sleep today I offer you this… Esquire did an interview with Samuel L. Jackson, and got him to read lines from famous romantic comedies. Here he is doing “Dirty Dancing” and “Titanic”.
Disney dropped the first full-length trailer for its live-action Aladdin remake, and the clip re-creates several classic scenes from the 1992 animated original. (The preview begins with the title character (played by Mena Massoud) causing havoc in the streets of Agrabah before running into Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott). Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) then convinces Aladdian to swipe the Genie’s lamp from the Cave of Wonders, which leads to Will Smith offering up a rap-happy version of Robin Williams’ classic “Friend Like Me.” Later on, Jasmine and Aladdin duet on the movie’s classic ballad, “A Whole New World.”) Perhaps best of all, the trailer reveals that Smith’s Genie is not blue-skinned throughout the movie. Aladdin is in theaters on May 24.
We all know that the list of the top-grossing movies of all time is dominated by Marvel, “Star Wars”, and James Cameron . . . a.k.a. “Avatar” and “Titanic”. But when you adjust for inflation, the list changes a bit, and what movie is number 1, with an adjusted gross of $1.82 BILLION. Here are the top-grossing movies of all time in the U.S., in TODAY’S DOLLARS . . .
1. “Gone with the Wind”, 1939 . . . 1.82 billion. (Unadjusted Gross: $198.7 million.)
2. The original “Star Wars”, 1977 . . . $1.61 billion. (Unadjusted Gross: $461 million.)
3. “The Sound of Music”, 1965 . . . $1.29 billion. (Unadjusted Gross: $159.3 million.)
4. “E.T.”, 1982 . . . $1.28 billion. (Unadjusted Gross: $435.1 million.)
5. “Titanic”, 1997 . . . $1.22 billion. (Unadjusted Gross: $659.4 million.)
6. “The Ten Commandments”, 1956 . . . $1.18 billion. (Unadjusted Gross: $65.5 million.)
7. “Jaws”, 1975 . . . $1.16 billion. (Unadjusted Gross: $260 million.)
8. “Dr. Zhivago”, 1965 . . . $1.12 billion. (Unadjusted Gross: $111.7 million.)
9. “The Exorcist”, 1973 . . . $998.7 million. (Unadjusted Gross: $232.9 million.)
10. “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, 1937 . . . $984.3 million. (Unadjusted Gross: $184.9 million.)
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” just missed the Top 10. It came in 11th . . . even though it’s the highest-grossing movie of all time in the U.S. when you DON’T adjust for inflation.
Soundgarden is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the band’s formation with the announcement of a series of the group’s albums on limited edition colored vinyl. Every month a brand new edition of one of the quartet’s LPs on A&M Records will be issued, starting with Superunknown on April 5th. This past Friday (March 8th) marked the 25th anniversary of that record’s release. Other albums that will be issued as part of the series include 1989’s Louder Than Love, the 1991 classic Badmotorfinger, 1996’s Down On The Upside and 2012’s King Animal, the band’s first and now only studio album to emerge after Soundgarden returned from a 13-year hiatus.
You don’t mess with Texas. Even if you’re a semi-recognizable ’90s rock band. FILTER found that out last week. They were supposed to play at the Speaking Rock Casino in El Paso this past Thursday night. But they got bounced at the last minute . . . basically because of their political beliefs. Here’s what happened . . .The band shared a video of their sound check on Facebook, and singer RICHARD PATRICK captioned it, quote, “This is sound check!! We’re Playing El Paso!!! Get Here!!! Later and it will he packed!! A lot of Trump bashing! That didn’t sit well with the venue. Neither did an image of an upside down American flag that they were planning to use in a slideshow on the screen behind them. According to an Instagram post from the band, the general manager and several security guards stormed into the green room and told Filter’s tour manager that the show was off. The GM allegedly said, quote, “The First Amendment does not exist in this Casino. Get the [eff] out.” In an interview with “Billboard” over the weekend, Patrick said the guy tried to claim they were getting bomb threats . . . but no law enforcement ever showed up, and he’s pretty sure the opening band STILL played that night.

Last night it was a rough one for the Blues at Enterprise Center. After a costly turn over by Jordan Binnington, the Coyotes went up early into the 2nd period. Another turn over in the Blues defensive zone put the Coyotes up 2-0 in the 3rd. During a powerplay, the Blues pulled the goalie and Jaden Schwartz scored making the score 2-1. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t enough, and Arizona scored an empty netter to pick up the 3-1 win. The Blues are still in 3rd in the Central with 79 points. They currently sit 5 points behind Winnepeg and 2 points ahead of Dallas. Next up for the Blues is a game against the Senators in Ottawa…puck drop is at 6:30PM.
The New York Giants have traded their star receiver, 26-year-old Odell Beckham Jr.,to the Cleveland Browns. In return, the Giants are getting first- and second-round draft picks next month. The trade comes after Beckham got a five-year, $90 million contract extension last summer that made him the highest-paid receiver in the NFL. In another big trade report, ESPN said early this morning that the New York Jets agreed to a four-year, $52.5 million deal with former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell.
Remember the story we had yesterday about the Utah Jazz fan who got into a verbal argument with Russell Westbrook? Westbrook actually told him that he would “eff him and his wife up”. Well, the Utah Jazz permanently banned the fan and the NBA fined Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook $25,000 yesterday. Westbrook said after the game that it was an emotional reaction to the fan telling him, “Get on your knees like you’re used to,” which he said he considered “completely disrespectful” and “racial.” The man denied saying anything inappropriate, claiming he told Westbrook, “Ice those knees up!” and that Westbrook answered it was heat on his knees, to which he shouted back, “You’re going to need it.” However, several Thunder reserve players backed Westbrook’s version of the story, and ESPN cited sources as saying that the Jazz gathered intelligence that also verified his version. Several Jazz players have also been publicly supportive of Westbrook. The Jazz said in permanently banning the fan, “There is no place in our game for personal attacks or disrespect.” Westbrook was fined for using profanity and threatening towards a fan.
Speaking of bans…. Knicks owner James Dolan said the fan who confronted him and told him to “sell the team” after New York’s loss to the Kings on Saturday has been banned from Madison Square Garden. Dolan is calling the confrontation an “ambush” and said the fan sold the video to TMZ. “The ban is only coming from the fact that we now have learned that he planned it. They were stalking me. You can’t do that in Madison Square Garden. You are not allowed to stalk the owner and then confront him like that. Those particular guys had planned on making that video and selling it on TMZ.” The exchange began when the fan yelled at Dolan to “sell the team” as he was walking into the tunnel. The billionaire stopped and responded, “So you think I should sell the team?” and waved the fan over. “You want to not come to any more games?” When the fan protested by saying he was just stating his opinion, Dolan answered: “No, it’s not an opinion. And you know what, enjoy watching them on TV.”
Last night it was the WCC conference tournament final. Top ranked in all of college basketball Gonzaga took on unranked Saint Mary’s. Gonzaga…30-3. Saint Mary’s….22-11. Also – Gonzaga went into the tournament with 18 straight WCC tournament wins. Before the game…all analysts said Gonzaga would be the overall #1 seed in the upcoming championship brackets without a question of a doubt. And then…the game happened. 60-47….Saint Mary’s wins. Saint Mary’s ended the nation’s longest winning streak and Gonzaga’s six-year reign as West Coast Conference tournament champions. Gonzaga’s 18-game WCC tournament winning streak, dating to the 2012 title game, also came to an end, and so too could its bid for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Locally. Mizzou takes on Georgia tonight to kick off their SEC tournament play. Tip off is at 6PM. SLU will start their A-10 play tomorrow taking on either Fordham or Richmond. And Illinois starts Big 10 tournament play tonight against Northwestern.
Charley Casserly is a NFL Network analyst. And he’s a pretty knowledgeable one. Casserly was talking about the Dallas Cowboys and their offensive issues last year and had this to say. Nothing really wrong with what he said…right? Let’s look at the stats. Cole Beasley for the Cowboys – last year – 65 receptions for 672 yards and 3 touchdowns. Dez Bryant for the Cowboys last year….0 receptions for 0 yards and 0 touchdowns. Dez Bryant didn’t even PLAY for the Cowboys last year. Idiot.
You remember Vince Young right? Former NFLer who shined in college at Texas and took them to the National Championship? Yeah, you also remember those 2 DUIs he picked up? Yeah, well he was recently fired from his part time gig with the Longhorns. He was the development officer and football camp specialist. When asked why he was let go, the school said QUOTE “Poor performance and frequent absences.” They also went into a long speech about responsibilities and standards….basically said those DUIs done got him fired.
U.S. cyclist Kelly Catlin, who won a team silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, was found dead at her California home on Friday. He dad said cause of death was a suicide. She was 23. Catlin was part of the U.S. women’s pursuit team that won silver in Rio.
