Do You Know Where Brett Hull Is?
Yesterday I mentioned Cuba Gooding JR has been accused of grabbing a womans boob while partying at a bar in Manhattan. Cuba says is absolutely untrue but had talked about turning himself in. He says he was there partying with friends, and posed for pics with fans, but says no one was touched inappropriately … not even by accident. Now he says there is video footage that will show he is innocent. His attorney, Mark Heller, says it shows “absolutely no criminality taking place on the part of my client.” And he’s contacted the Manhattan D.A.’s Office Sex Crimes Unit but has not gotten a return phone call. He is trying to find out if they’ve seen the surveillance video. Heller says he can’t believe they would seek to arrest Cuba … if they’d seen the video.
Director Bryan Singer (X Men Movies, Usual Suspects and Bohemian Rhapsody) will pay $150,000 to settle claims of raping a 17-year-old boy in 2003. Cesar Sanchez-Guzman claimed in the December 2017 lawsuit that he sexually assaulted him at a party in Seattle. Singer denied all the allegations. “Mr. Singer has denied even knowing this individual, let alone allegedly having interacted with him more than 15 years ago,” Brettler said, according to Variety. “The decision to resolve the matter with the bankruptcy trustee was purely a business one, as litigation costs would well exceed the amount requested by the trustee to pay off the creditors who were owed money when the debtor filed for bankruptcy,” he added.
That mental health facility Creative Care, Inc. has dropped their lawsuit against actress Amanda Bynes. The case has been dismissed without prejudice, so they can file again later if they choose. They were looking for $2,467 in unpaid bills related to 2 days of care back in February. Bynes is currently under a conservatorship run by her mother. As such, she may be responsible for costs, not Bynes herself.
A woman recently sought temporary restraining orders against performers Beyoncé and Drake, claiming she was propositioned by both. She claims the two approached her for a threesome after seeing her on the street. The woman also claims Drake requested for her telephone number, called her and asked her for a date. She says that once she turned him down, the hip-hop star became erratic and sent her death threats. While the judge denied both of her requests, she may argue her case at a court hearing next month.
Wendy Williams has moved on from her estranged husband Kevin Hunter with a man who has been identified as a 27-year-old convicted felon. The 54-year-old was first spotted with Marc Tomblin this week in L.A. Their mutual friend Blac Chyna reportedly made the introduction. He has since joined her back in NYC. Page Six claims he was convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon on January 29, 2013, in North Carolina. He was also convicted of felony breaking and entering in May of 2013. When asked about dating a felon, Williams told TMZ: “I am a 54-year-old grown-a** woman. I know what I’m doing. “Williams split from her husband of 20 years, following reports of serial cheating and abuse.
It seemed pretty likely that JUSTIN BIEBER was joking when he challenged TOM CRUISE to a fight . . . and he admitted that yesterday when the paparazzi asked him about it. He said, quote, “I don’t know him. He’s tight. The story is I saw an interview with him, and he was just on my mind. It was just a random tweet. I do that stuff sometimes.” He added, quote, “He’d probably whoop my ass in a fight . . . I’m really skinny right now. I think he’d probably be out of my weight class . . . He’s got that dad strength.”
There was a fire in Universal Studios backlot in Hollywood back in 2008. A report published this week by the New York Times detailed the full extent of what was described as the biggest disaster in the history of music, with masters of possibly 500,000 songs burned in the fire. The full scope of the catastrophe was not made public until now. Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic said that he believes the band’s original master recordings are gone forever. Other artists who are now trying to get information on whether their masters survived include R.E.M., the Roots and Steely Dan. Believed to have perished in the blaze were masters from Buddy Holly, Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, Ray Charles, Elton John, B.B. King, Snoop Dogg, Chuck Berry, Tom Petty, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Guns N’ Roses and hundreds more. Universal has stated that the Times report contains “numerous inaccuracies, misleading statements, contradictions and fundamental misunderstandings of the scope of the incident and affected assets.” The company has not yet provided evidence for its claims.
Cage The Elephant has been forced to cancel the remainder of its European tour after guitarist Nick Bockrath suffered a serious leg injury on stage in the Netherlands’ at Pinkpop festival. No big thing he only ruptured his PCL, tore his ACL, damaged his meniscus, and fractured his tibia. He apparently tried playing through the injury rather than cancel the tour, but after two shows, it was determined that the guitarist “requires immediate surgery” and is currently under professional care. That’s six canceled gigs. Cage The Elephant is next scheduled to tour North America with Beck on the co-headlining “Night Running Tour.” Those dates are set to begin on July 11th in Ridgefield, Washington, assuming Bockrath is able to recover in time.

What if we applied real-world standards to TV and movies:
1. Forrest Gump ran a total of 15,248 miles.
2. Jack Bauer killed 309 people during his time on “24”. That comes out to one kill every 40 MINUTES.
3. Recreating “The Lego Movie” with real Lego pieces would require more than 15 million blocks. A tower made with that many would be 90 miles high.
4. MICHAEL KEATON’s Batman killed 20 people . . . three more than Jeffrey Dahmer.
5. The amount of damage done to Manhattan in the original “Avengers” has been estimated at $160 billion . . . more than 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, or the 2011 tsunami in Japan.
6. If you owned 101 Dalmatians, you’d be cleaning up 76 pounds of poop EVERY DAY.
7. In the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, Frodo and Sam walk 1,779 miles from Hobbiton to Mt. Doom. That’s a little more than the distance from Chicago to L.A.
8. The main cast of “Seinfeld” dated 212 people over the course of the series. Jerry had the most, with 73 . . . followed by George (62), Elaine (50), and Kramer (27).
9. A website called WhatCulture.com claims that BILL MURRAY spent 12,395 days stuck in “Groundhog Day”. That’s almost 34 years.
10. The total surface area in “Minecraft” is over 9 million Earths.
Kat Dennings is 33.

On January 3rd, 2019…the Blues were 31st out of 31 NHL teams…and last night…The St. Louis Blues won the franchise’s first-ever Stanley Cup Championship with a 4-1 victory in Boston over the Bruins in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. Ryan O’Reilly, who scored for the fourth straight game last night, was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the post-season MVP. O’Reilly and teammate Alex Pietrangeloboth scored at the end of the first period, about three minutes apart, and then after a scoreless second period, Brayden Schenn and Zach Sanford added two more goals in the third. Boston scored its lone goal late in the third period. Nothing set in stone yet, but, multiple reports, including KSDK, say that the parade will be on Saturday.
The Blues weren’t the only ones to go home happy after the final horn sounded. Blues fan Scott Berry netted a $100,000 payday with the win. Back in January, the St. Louis native had placed a $400 bet on the Blues in the title in Las Vegas. The team had been given 250–1 odds to win. Now, he can celebrate as if he won the title himself. Berry explained that he received advice on hedging in addition to calls from people offering to buy his ticket off him, with amounts ranging from $26,420 to $75,000.
The Cardinals, playing in Miami, lost to the Marlins last night 9-0. But in reality, it’s cool. We got ourselves a championship last night. Miles Mikolas suffered his 7th loss of the year. The #1 and #2 hitters for Miami had 7 RBI combined. It was a rough one. Today, the Cardinals are in New York for a series with the Mets. Jack Flaherty gets the start. First pitch is scheduled for 6:10PM.
Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant posted on Instagram yesterday that he’d undergone surgery for a ruptured right Achilles tendon, confirming the diagnosis that had been feared when he was injured during Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday in his return to play after missing much of the playoffs with a strained right calf. Durant posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed and wrote, “I wanted to update you all: I did rupture my Achilles. Surgery was today and it was a success, EASY MONEY. My road back starts now!” The two-time reigning NBA Finals MVP faces a long rehab and recovery from the injury
Dominican Republic officials said Wednesday that six people, including the alleged gunman, had been arrested in the shooting of retired Boston Red Sox star David Ortiz. The shooter was identified as 25-year-old Rolfy Ferreyra. The officials didn’t provide information about a motive, but the national police director said the coordinator of the attack was offered $7,800 to orchestrate it. The police director didn’t say who’d hired them. Four other suspects are still being pursued in the attack, which was carried out by two men on a motorcycle, assisted by two other groups of people in cars. Meanwhile, Ortiz’s wife, Tiffany, said in a statement that her husband was able to sit up and take some steps at the Boston hospital where he’s in the intensive care unit.
New Cleveland Cavaliers coach John Beilein has made a notable addition to his coaching staff by bringing on Cal women’s basketball coach Lindsay Gottlieb. Gottlieb will be the first women’s college head coach to join an NBA staff. Gottlieb led the Bears for eight seasons, reaching the NCAA Tournament in all but one campaign and making the 2013 Final Four in her second year at the school. She coached several WNBA players during her time at Cal and compiled a 179-89 record. Overall, she brings 11 years of head coaching experience to the Cavs, in addition to nine years of time working as an assistant. The New England Patriots filed tampering charges Wednesday against the Houston Texans for the attempted general manager hire of Nick Caserio. The league now is expected to gather relevant information to open its investigation against Houston. Houston fired general manager Brian Gaine the night after New England’s Super Bowl ring ceremony on June 6 at Robert Kraft’s house. The Texans finished in first place in the AFC South with an 11-5 record last season. Former Patriots team chaplain and current Texans executive vice president of team development Jack Easterby attended that party, as did Caserio. The NFL’s anti-tampering policy states, “Any interference by a member club with the employer-employee relationship of another club or any attempt by a club to induce a person to seek employment with that club or with the NFL” is impermissible.”
