A little more detail on the Jay Leno incident over the weekend. Jay Leno told TMZ how he lit his face on fire. He was fixing a clogged fuel line on a “Steam Car” that was made by the White Motor Company in 1907. He accidentally sprayed gasoline on his face and hands . . . and at the same time, a spark triggered an explosion that lit him up. Jay says a friend quickly jumped on him and smothered the flames, but he still suffered third-degree burns on his face and hands, and might need skin grafts. He’s still in the hospital, and he might have to stay there into next week.
Beyoncé is back, and the darling of the Grammys again. She leads the 2023 Grammy nominees with NINE nods . . . including Album of the Year for “Renaissance” and Song and Record of the Year for “Break My Soul”. Jay-Z got five nominations this year . . . two for “Renaissance” and three for his guest appearance on DJ Khaled’s “God Did”. And now, Jay and Beyoncé co-own the record for most nominations EVER . . . with 88 each. If Beyoncé wins four awards, she’ll also have the record for most Grammys WON. She currently has 28 . . . while a late conductor tops the list with 31. Kendrick Lamar sits right behind Beyoncé with EIGHT nominations . . . including Album of the Year for “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers”. Also contending for Album of the Year . . . weirdly . . . is ABBA, for what’s supposedly their final album, “Voyage”. Adele got SEVEN nominations . . . and the following artists got SIX each: Harry Styles, DJ Khaled, Future, The-Dream, Mary J. Blige, and engineer Randy Merrill. Bad Bunny made history for the first Latin album nominated for Album of the Year. Ed Sheeran only got nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Camila Cabello’s. Dave Chappelle and Louis C.K. are both up for Best Comedy Album, which is going to upset a lot of people. Drake tried to boycott the Grammys, but he’s up for FOUR of them anyway, thanks to his work on “Renaissance”, Future’s “Waiting for U”, and Jack Harlow’s “Churchill Downs”. The Grammys go down Sunday, February 5th on CBS.
Candace Cameron Bure did an interview this week about how she left the Hallmark Channel to make movies for a network called Great American Family, which focuses on “traditional” and “Christian” family values. In other words, she felt that Hallmark was getting a little too LGBTQ-friendly for her taste. And some people were offended by that. That includes JoJo Siwa, who called it, quote, “rude and hurtful to a whole community of people” in an Instagram post. Then Candace’s “Full House” co-star Jodie Sweetin entered the chat, by commenting, “You know I love you” on JoJo’s post, along with two heart emojis. So, is the Full House now a BROKEN HOME?
When the classic mermaid flick “Splash” hit Disney+, a bunch of horny guys noticed a particular scene that wasn’t quite the same as they remembered it. It’s a scene where a NAKED Daryl Hannah runs and jumps into the ocean, and her backside is clearly visible. But on Disney+, they obscured her buttcrack with some fake-looking CGI hair. Well, I am happy to inform you that Daryl’s butt is back in all its glory. Apparently, Disney+ reinstated the original version because they now have a parental lock feature. So it’s up to PARENTS to shield their children from buttocks.
Denise Richards finally has something in common with Tupac . . . they’ve both been involved in drive-by shootings. Denise’s husband Aaron was driving her to a movie studio on Monday, and they were having trouble finding the place. The guy behind them was getting frustrated with their driving, and kept trying to pass. Aaron finally let the guy go by, but as he did, he SHOT at them. He put a bullet in the back driver’s side of their vehicle. Denise was crying when she got to the set, but she powered through and worked a full 12-hour day.
Disney is returning to the world of The Princess Diaries. Apparently they are writing a script for a new installment for Disney, which sources say is a continuation of the Anne Hathaway-led series of films rather than a reboot. Hathaway does not have a deal to return, but she has publicly stated her support (LINK) for a third installment, and the hope is she would return should the potential new film move forward beyond the script stage. Hathaway starred in 2001’s The Princess Diaries as an American teenager who learns she is heir to the throne of a European kingdom. The film also starred Julie Andrews and become a box office hit, earning $165.3 million globally. Hathaway returned for 2004’s Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, which brought in $134.7 million globally.
Alec Baldwin wants to make sure it’s on the record that he is NOT responsible for the death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. And he’s doing that by SUING several crew members who had something to do with the loaded gun that went off and killed her. The lawsuit alleges negligence by armorer Hannah Guittierez-Reed, as well as the prop master, the first assistant director (slash) safety coordinator, and the ammunition supplier and his company. One of the reasons Alec is doing this is because HE is being sued by script supervisor Mamie Mitchell, who was also hit by the bullet that discharged from Alec’s gun. She also named a bunch of the people Alec is now suing. Alec’s lawsuit is a cross-complaint, meaning he wants a share of any damages Mitchell might win from anyone they are now BOTH suing.
A woman is suing Anne Heche’s estate after her home was destroyed in the actress’ fatal car crash back in August. Heche died on Aug. 14 after being removed from life support nine days after she crashed her Mini Cooper into the Mar Vista home, sparking a fire. Lynne Mishele’s attorneys filed documents last week requesting “at least $2 million” in damages for “negligence”, “infliction of emotional distress” and “trespass.” The filing details that Lynne “was working from home when she was stunned by the dramatic force of Heche’s vehicle slamming through the front wall and driving through the living room, kitchen, home office, and primary room closet before settling into the laundry/storage room of her house.” The docs add that “the front end of the car, incredibly, came to a halt just feet away from Plaintiff and her pets: two dogs named Bree and Rueben and a tortoise named Marley. “In addition to losing all of her possessions and being physically uprooted, Plaintiff has suffered and continues to suffer severe emotional distress and professional hardship,” the documents outlined.
Gisele Bundchen was spotted in Costa Rica with her Jiu-Jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. But it might be completely innocent. Because Gisele also brought along her kids, 12-year-old Benjamin and 9-year-old Vivian . . . along with some OTHER kids and adults, and a teacher from the kids’ school. Sources say Gisele is NOT romantically involved with this guy. Joaquim and his brothers run a studio in Florida, and Gisele and the kids are students there. However . . . the “New York Post” says Tom Brady’s camp isn’t buying the idea that they’re just friends. On a related note, Tom met with the wives and children of Ukrainian soldiers on Sunday . . . after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Seattle Seahawks in Germany.
The house from “A Christmas Story” went up for sale yesterday morning in Cleveland. The price isn’t disclosed, but the entire property covers 1.3 acres. It includes a museum with props and costumes from the movie, a gift shop, parking lots, and empty lots to expand. The current owner says, quote, “Looking for the right buyer. It’s an interesting property to not only own, but you also have to take care of as a piece of Americana. It’s going to be an interesting journey.”
Mariah Carey just heard a word she’s probably not accustomed to hearing: NO. Because her bid to trademark the phrase “Queen of Christmas” was DENIED. She also failed to trademark the phrases “Princess Christmas” and “Christmas Princess”. She was hoping to lock them down for a variety of products, but she faced opposition, most notably from singer Elizabeth Chan. . . who actually has an album titled “The Queen of Christmas”. Chan didn’t believe that ANYONE should own that phrase because, quote, “Christmas is a season of giving, not the season of taking.”
In the same day that Taylor Swift casually picked up four Grammy nominations (LINK), Swifties fought tooth and nail to pick up tickets for her Eras Tour next year. In fact, so many millions (that’s right, millions) of them flooded Ticketmaster’s site trying to purchase tickets during the tour’s initial presale yesterday, the company was forced to postpone a couple of its on sales following high reports of site crashes and technical difficulties. The company went on to announce that on sales scheduled for West Coast shows in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Santa Clara and Seattle would be postponed to later that afternoon instead of at 10AM like scheduled. “All presale codes and links sent via text will still work at that time,” Ticketmaster reassured Swifties in its statement. “Thank you for your patience as we continue managing this huge demand.” The presale initially started at 10 a.m. local venue time on Tuesday and was soon followed by outages on Ticketmaster’s website. The technical difficulties (LINK) were reported and posted about by fans.
Blueface was arrested for attempted murder … and TMZ has video of the bust. The rapper was taken down and cuffed outside Lo-Lo’s Chicken & Waffles in Vegas … in what appears to have been an undercover operation. Eyewitnesses tell us 6-8 officers were in on the arrest, parked in unmarked cars. Officers piled on to detain him as a crowd formed. Blueface’s girlfriend was also there, and looked just as confused as everyone else. Cops on scene said they were executing an open warrant for his arrest. TMZ has obtained legal docs connected to the warrant, and the charges are serious … felony attempted murder with the use of a deadly firearm or tear gas. He’s facing an additional charge of discharging a gun into a house, building, vehicle or craft. The incident that got Blueface arrested occurred October 8th (LINK)
We are going to hammer you soon with these end of year lists so I wanted to give you a good brain relaxer and give you a good ALL TIME list. Action stars are a special breed. They not only put their bodies on the line for the sake of entertainment, but have to express physically what other actors tend to get across in words and dramatic close-ups. There are many different types of action stars, from the wily gritty every man to the over-muscled superman to the gracefully violent martial artist. Collectively, these action stars have been responsible for some of the greatest action movies of all-time (LINK).

Connor Thomas, already the Arizona Fall League’s pitcher of the year (LINK), was added to the Cardinals’ 40-man roster so that he could be protected from the upcoming Rule 5 Draft. The roster is up to 29 at this point. The deadline to protect eligible players from the Rule 5 Draft came Tuesday at 5 p.m. St. Louis time. The Cardinals had only a handful of decisions, mostly surrounding how many spots on the 40-man roster they wanted to keep open or open up for prospects. The Cardinals continue to plan to add a catcher and their hope is to add an additional bat…
The Cardinals were announced on Tuesday as the winners of the National League Team Gold Glove Award giving them back-to-back years they have claimed the award that recognizes the best team defense throughout the entirety of the regular season.
The Yankees were the winning team in the American League giving them their first.
Since team Gold Gloves were first issued by the St. Louis-based Rawlings in 2020, the Cardinals are the only franchise with multiple wins. The Cubs and Guardians were the first teams to win the award. Houston won it for the AL side in 2021.
St. Louis City SC’s stadium, CityPark, opens its doors to the public for the first time as St. Louis City2 tonight, the club’s developmental squad, takes on Bayer Leverkusen, from Germany’s Bundesliga. A small number of tickets were still available as of Tuesday afternoon. The match will also be streamed on ESPN+. The Jersey’s will also be revealed today at 11am although the team will not be wearing these jerseys for tonight’s match. Tony preordered a jersey and got an email yesterday that says he can pick up his jersey in the next two weeks at the stadium. After this game, the City and City2 players will go on a break, reconvening for training camp in January. But that end is the beginning of a whole new world in St. Louis sports. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The game starts at 7 p.m. tonight.
The ST LOUIS BATTLEHAWK’S quarterbacks are 32-year-old NFL veteran A.J. McCarron and Ryan Willis, a 26-year-old from Kansas City. Battlehawks head coach Anthony Becht said. “A.J. clearly brings a championship pedigree and leadership qualities that are substantial. He can run a room and run a team at a high level. And Ryan Willis is a rising star in my opinion. He has a big arm and he’s really athletic.
“We’re extremely excited about what these guys bring to the table.”
Here is McCarron on when he knew he was joining the new XFL team here in St Louis. McCarron was part of three national championships at Alabama and is the only quarterback in history to win back-to-back national titles. He was selected by Cincinnati in the fifth round of the 2014 draft and played in the NFL for seven seasons with the Bengals, Oakland Raiders and Houston Texans. In college, Willis played two seasons each at Kansas and Virginia Tech. His best college season came in 2018
Here’s a familiar story to St Louis. A Denver Broncos special teamer is suing the NFL, the Chargers and a bunch of others … claiming mats placed on the sidelines at SoFi Stadium earlier this year caused him to suffer a severe knee injury.
Aaron Patrick spelled out his allegations in a new lawsuit, saying that a series of poor decisions by the league and its L.A. team resulted in his ACL tear back on Oct. 17 during the Broncos vs. Chargers’ “Monday Night Football” game.
The 25-year-old Denver outside linebacker said in his suit the injury happened in the overtime period of the contest in L.A. … while he was attempting to make a tackle on a punt return.
Patrick says because of his effort to make the play on the field, his momentum carried him into the sideline area — where an NFL official who monitors television timeouts was standing. Patrick claims in the suit in an attempt to avoid the man, he had to step on mats that stadium workers had put down to cover up NFL instant replay sideline monitor cords and cables. He said he got caught, tripped on the mats and cords and tore his ACL. Patrick is heaping blame on not only the NFL and the Chargers for it all, but also ESPN, the mat company and others — claiming they all could have done more to prevent the injury from happening (LINK)
