Anyone see Pete Davidson on SNL do a skit about how movies on Netflix are too long? He said he just wanted a short ass movie. Well, Inspired by the sketch, Netflix compiled a selection of 90-minute movies and made a “Short-Ass Movies” section for real.  Zoolander, Lady Bird, and Stand By Me

If you thought “Squid Game” was too violent, this might not be for you:  The creator of that show, Hwang Dong-hyuk, is working on a movie that he says will be even MORE violent. Its working title at the moment is “Killing Old People Club”, and Hwang says he might have to HIDE from old people when it comes out. There’s no word on the plot, but it was inspired by the works of the late Italian intellectual and author UMBERTO ECO, if that helps (LINK)

Chris Rock has added a second St. Louis date to his “Ego Death World Tour 2022.” The announcement came Monday, a month after the original date was announced and a week after he was infamously slapped onstage by Will Smith at the Oscars.  He is at Stifel on June 11. Now, a June 12 date has been added “due to popular demand,”. Tickets for the June 12 date go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. April 8 on Ticketmaster.com. Some seats remained for his original June 11 date.

MARTHA STEWART shared the passing of her cat. Or should I say murder of her cat by her FOUR dogs. She posted a photo of a grave being dug and said, quote, “Burying the beautiful and unusual Princess Peony.  The four dogs mistook her for an interloper and killed her defenseless little self.  I will miss her very badly.  RIP beauty.” Martha also shared a photo of Princess Peony, who was a calico Persian.  It’s unclear how many dogs in total Martha has, but she appears to be talking about the two French bulldogs and two chow chows that she has posted about (LINK)

HARRISON FORD has just booked the first TV regular series of his career.  It’s called “Shrinking”, and it’s by the same people who make “Ted Lasso”.  It’ll air on Apple TV+. Ford will play a “blue collar shrink” and pioneer in cognitive behavioral therapy, who has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. JASON SEGEL is the star of “Shrinking”.  He plays a therapist breaking the rules and telling his clients what he REALLY thinks.  No word when it’ll air (LINK)

Last year’s Grammy Awards ceremony had the lowest ratings in Grammys history. The numbers were a little better. I wonder why. Taking into account viewers on both CBS and those streaming on Paramount+, drew 8.93 million viewers, which is close to last year’s count of 8.8 million.  CBS is expecting the final number, which is out today to be at around 9.6 million viewers, just above last year’s 9.23 million. For reference, all of these numbers are awful compared to just a few years ago: The 2020 show had 18.7 million viewers and the 2019 edition had 19.9 million (LINK

Notorious for playing down to the opponents, the Blues proved that to be just a myth as they whipped up on the Coyotes at Enterprise Center last night.  Goals from Ivan Barbashev, Vladi Tarasenko, Brayden Schenn, and Pavel Buchnevich had the Blues up 4-0 after the second.  Tarasenko scored another in the 3rd to make the final 5-1.  The team is off tonight and then welcome the Seattle Kraken back to Enterprise Center.  Puck drop is at 7PM.

Albert Pujols announced Monday that he and wife Deidre are splitting up, days after she underwent successful surgery to remove a brain tumor. PUJOLS SAID QUOTE: “I’ve been asked a lot of questions over the past few days regarding what’s been going on at home and sadly, after 22 years of marriage, I have made the decision to file for divorce from my wife, Deidre. I realize this is not the most opportune time with Opening Day approaching and other family events that have recently taken place. These situations are never easy and isn’t something that just happened overnight.” This offseason, Pujols signed a one-year deal to return to the Cardinals, where he previously played from 2001 to 2011. He and Deidre had been married since 2000.

Soeaking of Pujols —  he will be in the starting lineup for a 22nd straight Opening Day when he serves as the team’s designated hitter on Thursday at Busch against the Pirates. Pujols signed a $2.5 million deal to return to the Cardinals this offseason after splitting the 2021 campaign between the Angels and Dodgers. The 42-year-old had spent nine-and-a-half seasons with the Angels before being traded to the Dodgers. The team says while he will primarily be a DH for the team, he will also be able to fill in at 1st base when needed.

Joe Davis will be Fox’s new voice of the World SeriesDavis, 34, will replace Joe Buck, who left the network last month to become the lead play-by-play broadcaster for ESPN’s Monday Night Football coverage, alongside long-time partner Troy Aikman. Buck had called the World Series at Fox for the last 24 years.  To replace Buck’s voice on the NFL side of things, Fox reportedly promoted Kevin Burkhardt to being its top football play-by-play broadcaster. The network has yet to choose a new lead analyst to replace Aikman.

Utility man Danny Santana, pitcher Richard Rodríguez and infielder José Rondón were suspended for 80 games each Monday in the first discipline since the major league drug testing program resumed March 11 following a 99-day suspension during the lockout. The three, all free agents, tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance. Santana, 31, is an eight-year major league veteran who played for the Boston Red Sox last season. Rodriguez played for the Braves and the Pirates last year. And…Rondón, 28, hit .263 with three homers and nine RBIs in 63 games for St. Louis last season.

The Kansas Jayhawks overcame a 16-point deficit to beat the North Carolina Tar Heels, winning the 2022 NCAA Men’s Championship.  North Carolina had a chance to tie with a three-pointer at the last second.  Here’s the final call.  Final Score: Kansas 72 – North Carolina 69.

Phil Mickelson is not at Augusta National this week, but that doesn’t mean his name will remain out of the news. Masters pre-tournament press conferences began yesterday, and Bryson DeChambeau was asked if he had talked to his fellow long drive-loving cohort. “I’ve tried to reach out, but he’s gone dark,” said DeChambeau, who been scarce lately himself. “There’s no contact.” Mickelson has been off the grid for weeks after comments he made about the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series. An apology released on Feb. 22 via social media mentioned that “(I) desperately need some time away” and that he wanted to “work on being the man I want to be.” The three-time Masters champion was removed from the field list on March 21. It is not known whether or not he was suspended by the PGA Tour, though such disciplinary action would not apply to the Masters, which invites players based on qualifying criteria that include past champions.

The United States men’s national team will play against El Salvador and Grenada as part of the USMNT’s run-up to the 2022 World Cup in November. The USMNT’s June window will also involve two friendlies against opponents to be named later. These four matches are expected to include the full U.S. team. A report stated that Uruguay could be slated as one of those friendly opponents in June. Dates and venues for all Nations League matches have yet to be determined. The U.S. won the inaugural edition of the tourney last June, with a 3-2 extra time victory over Mexico in the final.  In the World Cup, the US was drawn into Group B where they will face England, Iran, and the winner of the UEFA playoff between Wales, Scotland, and Ukraine
