Guess what happened on Hell’s Kitchen Young Gun? We got ourselves a local boy done good. From Union MO congrats to 25 year old Trent Garvey. He is now the head chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas. His finally menu focused on his perspective of growing up in Arkansas and southern flavors. His menu included compressed watermelon salad with pistachio crumb, English pea risotto, poached lobster on a fried green tomato, pan-seared trout, chili-rubbed flat iron. Gordon Ramsey said…“Trenton is everything I could want in a protege,” said Ramsay after announcing Garvey won. (AUDIO) After he was chosen as the winner, Trent proposed to his girlfriend Macy. She and Trent’s dad were on hand for the finale.
Recall I said Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme’s two sons, Orrin, 10, and Wolf, five, filed restraining orders against Homme. They were denied. Camille Homme, Josh’s fifteen-year-old daughter WAS granted a restraining order against the singer in California. She says her father physically and emotionally abuses her and his two sons, “with flicks to the ear, put-downs, threats against their mother and her boyfriend and groping of the boys’ privates.” Homme’s rep denied the abuse claims, saying the ex is doing this to him because he accused HER of a abuse in the past and even filed for a restraining order. Homme must stay 100-feet away from his daughter while a court date is set to between the two.
JEFF BRIDGES had some great news to share yesterday: His cancer is in remission. Last October he announced he was diagnosed with lymphoma and would be starting treatment. And yesterday he said his 9 inch-by-12 inch mass is now the size of a marble. Jeff also said he had COVID-19 earlier this year . . . he caught it at the facility where he was receiving chemotherapy. He’s feeling much better now and credits his recovery to the vaccination.Up until recently he was needing oxygen just to walk around. But thanks to therapy, he was able to walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding and do the father-daughter dance WITHOUT the oxygen tank. Jeff will soon resume filming his new Hulu series, “The Old Man” (LINK)
NICKI MINAJ skipped the Met Gala last night . . . and it’s all due to COVID-19 vaccine mandates. She isn’t vaccinated. Nicki said (LINK), quote, “If I get vaccinated it won’t [be] for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe . . . Wear the mask.” Last week Nicki pulled out of the “Video Music Awards” because she got . . . COVID.
Who has dated these Hollywood females? Ariana Grande. …Kate Beckinsale. …Margaret Qualley. …Kaia Gerber. …PETE DAVIDSON. And now there’s talk that Pete is hooking up with KALEY CUOCO. They did a romantic comedy together called “Meet Cute”. And both were in relationships. Kaley was MARRIED. Then they suddenly both ended up single. And now the rumors are flying. Sources said “the chemistry between them is so palpable.” Then there was the day they spent at Six Flags (LINK) in New Jersey last month . . . an outing that apparently had no relation to the film. Back then, there was no indication that Kaley and her husband were on the outs.
This might be hard to believe, but there actually were some “Jackass” scenes that were a bit TOO graphic to show on TV. On the latest episode of “Hot Ones: Truth or Dab”, STEVE-O described three scenes that were cut and they all involved JOHNNY KNOXVILLE. Steve-O said in a scene called “Box Down Stairs”, quote, “[Johnny] just got in a box . . . they tucked in some pillows around him, taped it up, rolled it down a huge flight of cement stairs, and it was violent as hell.” The second scene was when Johnny shot himself with a .38-calibre Smith and Wesson revolver. And the third scene was when he got hit by a car. Steve-O said, quote, “He said, ‘I’m Johnny Knoxville and I’m going to get hit by a car real soon.’ [Then a] car just came flying . . . he went through the windshield, rolled over. “They asked him, ‘What were you thinking when you got hit by a car?’ And his answer was, ‘I wore two pairs of jeans so that I’d be safe.'” (LINK)
Whether you like it or not, “Cops” is an American institution. And it’s coming back. The show was canceled last year, along with the A&E show “Live PD”, due to national outrage in the wake of GEORGE FLOYD’s murder by a police officer. But Fox News is bringing it back on its Fox Nation streaming service, beginning October 1st. Meanwhile, “Live PD” host Dan Abrams says he and the producers are doing everything possible to bring their show back, and he claims there’s, quote, “significant interest within the industry.” (LINK)
On the blog is footage of Colin in Black & White (LINK), a six-part bio drama about the early years of Colin Kaepernick. Jaden Michael is Young Colin in his early years. Kaepernick narrates. Nick Offerman and Mary-Louise Parker play his “well-meaning parents”. Quote…“you don’t know Kaepernick until you know Colin.” It premieres Oct. 29 on Netflix
Disney+ series “Hawkeye” trailer is on the blog . (And yes, fans are already calling (LINK) for Marvel to make the Captain America musical a reality.)
Sometimes filmmakers get the endings of their movies WRONG. But the lucky ones figure it out and fix it before the movie goes out to the general public. Here are some examples . . .
- “Legally Blonde”. The original ending had Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair a year later, handing out Blonde Legal Defense Fund pamphlets on campus. Fans at a test screening didn’t think it was exciting enough, so they changed it to Reese giving a speech at her graduation.
- “Get Out”. In the original ending, Daniel Kaluuya’s character ends up in PRISON for the murders of the Armitage family. But it “sucked the air out of the room” at test screenings. That convinced Jordan Peele that the ending needed to be positive, to give viewers a hero and an escape.
- “Happy Death Day”. The movie originally ended with Tree just being stuck in the time loop AGAIN . . . and seemingly forever. But after she worked so hard to become a better person, the audience felt betrayed that she didn’t get a happy ending. So they let her discover who her killer was and end the cycle. (But then they shoved her right back into an even crazier time loop in the sequel, so what was the point???)
- “Speed”. Originally, it ended with everyone getting off the bus. But the studio didn’t think the movie could be set entirely on a bus . . . so they added some action scenes away from it . . .Most notably, the elevator scene at the beginning, and the subway scene at the end.
- “The Lion King”. If you can believe it, there was a version of the script where Scar KILLS Simba but then burns up in the flames that surrounded them during their final fight. Storyboards were even drawn up for that ending. But it was changed during the natural process of script revision.
- “Pretty in Pink”. Molly Ringwald was always meant to end up with Jon Cryer’s dorky character, Duckie. But the GIRLS at test screenings wanted her to hook up with the CUTE boy, played by Andrew McCarthy. So they reshot it. John Hughes was never convinced that was the right way to go, though. So his next movie, “Some Kind of Wonderful”, had a similar story, but lead actor Eric Stoltz ends up with the “outcast” character instead of the hot girl.

Anna Malle would have been 54 years old. Sadly, she passed away in 2006. She died in a car accident.
The Adam Wainwright show that is 2021 continues to roll. Wainwright picked up his 16th win of the year. He’s 16-7 on the year. And, with the win, the Cardinals are just a ½ game back of the Wild Card spot. Unreal. Tonight the Cards and Mets’ are back at it. Jake Woodford gets the start. First pitch is scheduled for 6:10PM.
Umpire Junior Valentine suffered a scary injury at Citi Field in New York on Monday as he was struck in the face by an errant throw by Cardinals shortstop Edmundo Sosa. Sosa fielded a ground ball in the hole near second base in the bottom of the second before wheeling and firing to first base. But Sosa’s throw didn’t reach first baseman Paul Goldschmidt as Mets outfielder Kevin Pillar ran down the first base line. Valentine was hit with the ball, and he bloodied as a result of the throw. Valentine remained on the ground for several seconds before getting to his feet.
The surprising San Francisco Giants became the first team to clinch a playoff spot this season, hitting four home runs to beat the San Diego Padres 9-1 on Monday night for their season-high eighth consecutive victory. They have the best record in baseball (94-50) with 18 games remaining—guaranteeing them at least a wild card as they try to hold off the rival Dodgers for the NL West title. It’s the earliest date the franchise has ever clinched a trip to the postseason.
All on one swing, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. topped his Hall of Fame father and moved ahead of Shohei Ohtani. Guerrero hit his major-league-leading 45th home run and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Rays 8-1 on Monday night. The AL East-leading Rays lost for the fourth time in five games and are 5-7 this month after going 21-6 in August.
The season premiere of Monday Night Football didn’t disappoint last night. The Las Vegas Raiders came back from a two-touchdown deficit to beat the Baltimore Ravens 33 to 27 in overtime. Here’s the last play of the game, when the Raiders had planned on kicking a field goal for the win, but got called for delay of game. They decided to run a risky play instead of kick. It paid off. NOTE: It was the first regular season NFL game ever played in front of fans in Las Vegas history, since last season was void of fans at Allegiant Stadium due to COVID. 61,756 attended last night’s game.
The Broncos have an ownership situation that, if not settled among the family members of the late Pat Bowlen, will result in a 2022 sale. If the team is sold, two potential buyers have emerged. A pair of names “keep popping up” as new owners of the Broncos: Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Jay-Z. The expected purchase prices will be $4 billion. It’s unclear whether Jay-Z would have the financial wherewithal to personally hold enough equity and also have the resources to run the team. At an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion, that likely wouldn’t be enough for him to be the controlling owner of a team that sells for $4 billion; by rule, he’d need to personally purchase 30 percent of the franchise. He could still be a key part of an ownership group, the public face and voice while the person with the money remains relatively anonymous. Franchise values are expected to skyrocket in this age of legalized gambling. For years, Bezos has been linked to the NFL. Given his massive holdings and the mushrooming cost of owning and operating a team, he’s one of the few in the world who could pull it off without even blinking.
Jake Paul is moving on from the idea of a rematch with Tyron Woodley because Woodley failed to live up to a tattoo bet the pair made after the first fight. Paul and Woodley seemed to make a gentlemen’s agreement in the ring after Paul beat Woodley via split decision on Aug. 29. Woodley said he wanted a rematch, to which Paul said Woodley would have to get an “I love Jake Paul” tattoo somewhere on his body. Woodley agreed and the two shook hands. “I’m over it,” Paul said. “I’m leaving Tyron in the past. He didn’t live up to the bet — he didn’t get the tattoo. So, the rematch just doesn’t make sense anymore.” Paul said that by not getting the tattoo Woodley blew his chance at another lucrative boxing match against him.
