Families and males are who you want to hook for a movie and Ghostbusters: Afterlife (LINK) got both over the weekend. It was a better-than-expected $44 million from 4,315 theaters in North America. Overseas, Afterlife started off with $16 million from 31 markets for a worldwide launch of $60 million. This is a great primer before the next installment of the Matrix franchise, Resurrections, which is out December 22nd. 1999’s The Matrix, is coming to IMAX theaters for the first time ever next month! Tiger King star Joe Exotic has prostate cancer and is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence in Texas after being found guilty of hiring hitmen to kill rival zoo owner Carole Baskin and a slew of other animal-related charges. Not a great combo. On Saturday Joe had been transferred to a federal medical facility in North Carolina to undergo treatment. It’s a prison in North Carolina for inmates who have special medical needs. The second season of Tiger King on Netflix was just released. He appears in the show from behind bars, where he continues his ongoing campaign for freedom.

KEVIN SPACEY was ordered to pay $31 million for his sexual misconduct on the set of “House of Cards”.  Kevin was fired from the show back in 2017 over allegations that he preyed on young men and groped a production assistant.  The money will go to the “House of Cards” production company because he was found to have violated their sexual harassment policy (LINK)

Are you team Flay or Team Fieri? Rumor was Bobby Flay was going to lave the Food Network after 27 years because he wanted Guy Fieri money. Flay has signed a new three-year deal to keep him cooking. I don’t know what he got but Guy Fieri has an $80 million dollar deal.

Adele’s new album “30” came out last Friday and was available right away on Spotify . . . unlike her last album “25”, which took over six months. And she made a little suggestion. She got SPOTIFY to change things so that shuffling isn’t the default setting when you listen to an album. She said, “Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended . . . Thank you Spotify for listening.”  To which Spotify replied (LINK), quote, “Anything for you.” If you PREFER shuffling, you can still set up your account to do it, but you have to MANUALLY select it (LINK)

Director Brett Morgen, who was behind 2015’s Kurt Cobain documentary, Montage of Heck, has been working with David Bowie’s collaborators for a documentary. He has “thousands of hours of rare and unseen” performance footage of Bowie and has been working on this documentary for four years. Morgen is reportedly looking at a Sundance Film Festival premiere this January to coincide with the sixth anniversary of Bowie’s passing.

A previously unreleased David Bowie song is out called “Can’t Help Thinking About Me (LINK)“.  It was the first song he ever recorded under the David Bowie moniker and will appear on the “Toy – The Lost Album”, “David Bowie 5: Brilliant Adventure” and “Toy” box sets.

Jimmy Kimmel had his street crew ask people what family member they dread seeing most this Thanksgiving.  Since they’re wearing masks in L.A., they were kind of disguised.

St. Louis, Kroenke to enter mediation; lawsuit may be settled today – LINK

It was a breakthrough game in many ways for the Blues, who had lost five of six coming into the evening. Tyler Bozak and Niko Mikkola got their first goals of the season. Ryan O’Reilly got his first goal in almost a month, the goal that started the comeback. Faulk got his first goal in more than a month. Only Brandon Saad, with his fourth goal in three games, was business as usual as the Blues beat the Las Vegas Golden Knights 5-2.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James (LINK) was ejected after what appeared to be his fist and elbow connected with Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart, beginning an altercation that took a few minutes to calm down after Stewart charged James.

The two got tangled up on a free throw in the third quarter before James dislodged his fist into Stewart’s face, drawing blood. Stewart, a second-year center, got in James’ face in the aftermath before players on both sides had to be separated. James was ejected following the officials’ review, deeming his actions a flagrant 2 foul. It was James’ second career ejection. Stewart also was ejected after two technical fouls. He also needed five stitches, according to the team.

An undefeated varsity football team in California is in the news, because all of the players are deaf (LINK).  They rely on sign language, and they’re 12 and 0 this year.

They hadn’t even had a winning record in any of the last seven years.  But if they win their next game on Saturday, it’ll be the first division title in ANY sport in the school’s 68-year history.

MIZZOU’s last home game of the season (Also senior night) was a 24-23 VICTORY over them Florida Gators in OVERTIME and yes we are the good luck charm. Overall, this was Mizzou’s highest-graded game for rush defense and tackling. Florida football lost the overtime nail-biter putting its postseason hopes in peril and resulting in the dismissal of head coach Dan Mullen (LINK) less than 24 hours after the defeat.

Now in his third year as a college head coach, Mizzou’s Eli Drinkwitz has never taken his own team to a bowl game. He hasn’t coached in a bowl in four years. Most of his players have never played a down in a bowl. They’ll get that chance in a few weeks. Saturday’s 24-23 overtime victory over Florida assured that Missouri will play in a bowl this postseason, though the when, where and against whom are still in the works.

A resounding win for the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11 has them within striking distance of the first seed in the AFC playoff hunt and with a full head of steam heading into their bye week. They proved that the Cowboys were no match for their high-octane offense and bend-don’t-break defense for the seventh victory of their 2021 campaign, delivering fans a primetime win at Arrowhead Stadium. Giving up just nine points to one of the NFL’s best offenses is a feat not many would have predicted the Chiefs were capable of a few weeks ago, but their performance against the Cowboys was one for the ages. Kansas City held the NFL-leading Cowboys’ offense to 276 yards, sacked Dak Prescott five times and picked him off twice, and kept Dallas out of the end zone entirely in a 19-9 victory.

Tom Brady threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns and Ronald Jones (LINK) ran for a score as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers handled the New York Giants in a 30-10 victory on last night for some Monday Night Football. The victory broke a two-game skid for the Buccaneers after losses on the road to the New Orleans Saints and Washington Football Team. But it didn’t stop one streak going on in this city and in this room…RIZZ!
