RICKY SCHRODER hasn’t been doing much acting lately, but that’s okay, because he has a new project:  He’s trying to organize an ARMED TAKEOVER OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT ON VETERANS DAY. I wish I was kidding, but I’m not.  Ricky posted a desperate Facebook video this past Friday, and it is truly UNHINGED. muster.” assemble (troops), especially for inspection or in preparation for battle.

JESSICA SIMPSON is celebrating 4 years of sobriety. She did it by posting a pic. THE picture that made her go “what am I doing?” Not sure you would even know it was her in the picture. But congrats to her.

It’s that time of year again, where OPRAH shares her favorite things on Amazon.  She even announced it’s been 25 years since her “favorite things” list started.  This year she’s focusing on small businesses owned by women and people of color. First the more AFFORDABLE things: There’s lavender scented stuffed animals for about $40 . . . blue light glasses for $27 . . . skin tone crayons for $23 . . . and an electric toothbrush for $24.. Now for the items we will NOT be gifting this holiday season . . . there’s an air purifier for $1,300 . . . a row machine for about $1,800 . . . a cashmere throw for $248 . . . and a 10-piece ceramic pots and pans set for $350..  Also new this year is The Watering Hole on hardback by Jeff Burton for $700. The new Futon Wilson single for $2700. The new Greek Fire record for $3000. Rizzuto Elderberry bottles for $800 and Scotts hair ties for $11 (LINK)

Its also time for our annual battle with this song. A bar in Dallas is setting rules for playing “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.sign on the jukebox says the song, quote, “will be skipped if played before December 1st.  After December 1st, the song is only allowed one time a night.” Well, Mariah, like many others, is not having it.  Someone Tweeted, quote, “Is this the war on Christmas I’ve heard about?”  And Mariah responded with a photoshopped image of herself going into battle . . . armor and all.

Carole Baskin is suing Netflix for using footage of her in the upcoming Tiger King 2 series ehich is supposed to debut later this month. Carole Baskin and her husband, Howard, filed suit in Tampa, Florida on Monday against Netflix and production company Royal Goode Productions.  She says that they breached the contract by continuing to use footage of the Baskins in Tiger King 2 stating that they only signed appearance release forms for the first documentary. They want removed any and all footage of them from Tiger King 2. She also alleges that producers are recutting old footage to make it seem like she’s giving new interviews. Netflix declined to comment on the matter (LINK)

Janet Jackson is the subject of a documentary by The New York Time, FX and Hulu about Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl halftime show in 2004 where Justin Timberlake ripped part of her costume and exposed her breast to millions. There will be rare interviews with people who were there working the event. Also how it affected Ms. Jackson if you’re nasty. Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson on November 19th.

As I scan the TV every night my main thought is there really isn’t enough cooking shows. Dan Levy to the rescue.   Dan has set up The Big Brunch for HBO Max. An unscripted cooking competition that will see chefs offered the chance to share their stories and business dreams while going head-to-head for a “life-altering prize,” all while finding innovative ways to redefine what it means to dine between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. It is scheduled for 2022 (LINK)

Also we don’t have enough travel shows…Dan’s Dad Eugene Levy   will host and exec produce unscripted travel series The Reluctant Traveler for Apple TV+. He  visit some of the world’s most remarkable hotels, as well as explore the people, places and cultures that surround them. Self-confessedly not your average travel show host — he’s not usually adventurous or well-versed in globe-trotting — he’s agreed the time is right for him to broaden his horizons.

Disney Plus has dropped the first trailer for their Star Wars spinoff, The Book of Boba Fett. It will premiere December 29th premiere. Ming Na Wen is in it too. The Mandalorian creator Jon Favraeu is an executive producer on Boba Fett

CHRIS PRATT just signed on to be the voice of Mario in a new animated movie.  But he’s apparently not interested in leaving any cartoon characters for anyone else, because now he’s going to be the lead in a new “Garfield” movie. There’s no word on the plot. Garfield has been brought to the big screen twice, and was voiced by BILL MURRAY both times (LINK)

“The Boondock Saints” came out in 1999.  “Boondock Saints 2” came out in 2009.  They’re a little late to stay on the “one per decade” schedule, but “Boondock Saints 3” is finally in the works. And yes, NORMAN REEDUS and SEAN PATRICK FLANERY are coming back, along with director Troy Duffy. And it might not be the last installment, either.  The plan is to kick off a, quote, “John Wick-type global action franchise.” (LINK)

Last night on Monday Night Football – the Chiefs continued to struggle.  Patrick Mahomes didn’t have a great game, the running backs had an OK game…but…the one thing they did have going for them…they were playing the Giants.  The Giants held with the Chiefs most of the game but a field goal from the Chiefs with about a minute to go sealed the win for them.  Final score….20-17.

Titans RB Derrick Henry will have foot surgery and there is no timetable as far as his return.  So who steps out while he is out?  The Titans are rumored to be adding a veteran RB to their squad…and his name is Adrien Peterson.  The 36 year old is 5th on the leagues career rushing list and is rumored to be signing with the practice squad and will join the team’s main roster soon.

Also – another injury note – things are unfortunately confirmed for the Saints and Jameis Winston…he does have a torn ACL and will be done for the season.  So now it’s between Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian as far as who will be the starter for their game against Atlanta.

A big trade in the NFL went down yesterday and a lot of people did NOT see this coming.  The Denver Broncos made a trade with the LA Rams where the Rams will send a 2nd and 3rd round pick to the Broncos in exchange for veteran linebacker Von Miller.

Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers is converting a portion of his salary into Bitcoin. The three-time MVP said he’s also giving away $1 million worth of the digital currency. Rodgers is earning $1.1 million in base salary for the 2021 season and collected more than $23.1 million from a pair of bonuses. The 37-year-old is joining the trend of athletes looking to dip their toes into the crypto market. Two-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Russell Okung was a relatively early adopter, tweeting in May 2019 that he wanted to be paid in Bitcoin. In December 2020, Okung worked with the Carolina Panthers to receive half of his $13 million salary in the cryptocurrency.

The World Series continues tonight as the Braves and Astros meet in Houston for Game 6.  The Astros avoided elimination in Game 5.  Tonight, the Braves look to close things out in Game 6. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00PM.

Acting general manager Zack Scott will not return to the New York Mets after being placed on administrative leave following an arrest on drunken driving charges in August. Scott’s dismissal is hardly a surprise after New York fell apart in the second half and missed the playoffs for a fifth straight season. The Mets are trying to hire a president of baseball operations for the second straight offseason under owner Steve Cohen. Scott was promoted to acting GM in January after their former GM was fired following revelations he sent sexually explicit text messages and images to a female reporter in 2016 while working for the Chicago Cubs. It’s a mess over there.

One of college basketball’s biggest stars will have to wait a few extra days to begin his 2021–22 campaign. Illinois junior center Kofi Cockburn, a returning All-American and the Big Ten’s preseason Player of the Year, has been suspended by the NCAA for the first three games of the season. The suspension relates to Cockburn selling his Illini team-issue gear on a website, The Players Trunk, in June, when Cockburn was still testing the NBA draft waters and widely expected, at that point, to remain in the draft. The sales were promoted well before July 1, when new NCAA name, image and likeness legislation took effect. His first game eligible will be Nov. 22 against Cincinnati in the Hall of Fame Classic.

In a deal where Coca-Cola is buying full control of BodyArmor, the drink company, the Kobe Bryant estate will make roughly $400 million for its stake in the company. Coke announced it bought the company for $5.6 billion in a cash deal.  Coke bought 15% stake in the company back in 2018, then earned an additional 15% equity stake when it took over distribution of BodyArmor. The company plans to buy the final 70% from a group of founders and investors that include pro athletes like Bryant, Mike Trout and James Harden.
