JOJO SIWA is working on a movie called “Bounce” . . . based on a young adult novel of the same name.  There’s just one problem:  There’s a kissing scene.  With a GUY. Earlier this year, JoJo came out as gay and revealed she’s in a relationship with her best friend.  So she’s trying to get that scene axed. She says, quote, “I’m madly in love and I do not want to kiss another human.  Especially because it’s a man . . . I’m not about it.  I’m trying to get it pulled so bad.  It’ll happen.  It’ll get pulled.” It’s not just about her own comfort.  She’s also concerned her fans won’t be able to separate reality from fiction.  Quote, “That’s what they look at me as, not some character, not some fictional thing.  And so it’s going to be a little weird.”

Matthew Perry (link) and fiancée Molly Hurwitz are done. Apparently he called it off. “Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them,” Perry said, in a statement.  “I wish Molly the best.” Perry, 51, and Hurwitz, 29, began dating in 2018 and got engaged in November 2020.

The six main cast members of “Friends” made $2.5 million EACH to appear on the HBO Max reunion special.  Which is NOTHING compared to what they made over the course of the show. But it’s A LOT more than they made for the entire first season. When they started out, they were making $22,500 per episode.  There were 24 episodes, meaning their Season 1 salaries were $540,000 each.  Which is HILARIOUS, given that they ended up making $1 million per episode. But not right away.  In Season 2, they were making between $22,500 and $40,000 each . . . but not everyone was being paid the same.  David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston were making the most. Then they started negotiating as a TEAM, and from then on, the six of them were always paid equally.  Their pay steadily increased until they reached the $1 million mark in Seasons 9 and 10. And they STILL get about $20 million a year from syndication.  EACH.

So what TV shows are making the most in syndication? This is from March of 2021

10’Seinfeld’ ($3 Million Per Episode)-The show was originally sold into syndication for $3 million per episode but the viewership was so high it ended up earning so much more. In April 2013, Seinfeld had grossed $3 billion from syndication alone, amounting to roughly $17 million per episode.

9’Friends’ ($1 Billion Per Year)- The series brings in approximately $1 billion in residuals each year. The former stars of the show receive around two percent in residuals meaning the cast makes roughly $20 million just from the syndication.

8’The Big Bang Theory’ ($1.5 Million Per Episode)- The Big Bang Theory was able to receive one of the biggest syndication deals of all time. The network TBS paid CBS $1.5 million per episode to get it syndicated on their network. Fox broadcast paid $500,000 for each episode. This brought them a total of $2 million per episode back in 2010. While it is unclear how much the cast makes per episode, Jim Parson, who played Sheldon Cooper on the series, brings in about $10 million a year (link) in residuals.

7’The Simpsons’ ($1 Million Per Episode)-Most shows that become syndicated have usually stopped making episodes years before or will be ending the show shortly. Not The Simpsons; this show made its debut in 1989 and is currently in its thirty-second season. The Simpsons are currently in syndication on FXX and are making around $1 million an episode. The show has already made over 500 episodes and could possibly hit the 750 marks. If it does, The Simpsons could earn more than $750 million, making it one of the biggest overall (link) syndication deals.

6’Everybody Loves Raymond’ ($18 Million Per Year)– After 15 years of the show being off the air, fans still watch the iconic series. Since the show has been syndicated on many networks, the actors on the show make a pretty penny in residuals. In fact, Ray Romano earns $18 million a year from the reruns.

5’Fraiser’ ($13 Million Per Year)-Frasier was on air for ten season on the network NBC from the early ’90s to the early 2000s. While it is unknown how much the other networks have paid for the syndication of the show, Kelsey Grammer, the lead in the show, makes more than $13 million a year just in syndications and reruns.

4’The Sopranos’ ($200 Million Episode)-Just two years before The Sopranos ended its eight-year run, the popular drama series closed a $200 million syndication deal. The show ran on HBO for the eight years the series was on-air but later ran its re-runs on A&E as well,

3’Modern Family’ ($1.4 Million Per Episode)– Back in 2013, ABC made a syndication deal with USA Network, but the amount was never released. Although, many believe the deal was anywhere from upwards of $10 million. However, from TBS, the show pulls in around $1.4 million an episode.

2’Married…With Children’ ($10 Million Per Year)-Married…with Children has aired its reruns on several different networks since it debuted on Fox in 1987. Ed O’Neil, who played the lead character, Al Bundy, makes around $10 million just in residuals. However, David Faustino (link), who played Bud in the series, said they “all got screwed over because Fox at the time was not a network.” The show made billions of dollars, but the cast “didn’t really get a piece of that.”

1’Family Guy’ ($10 Million Per Year)-Another long-running animation series (link) that has become syndicated on many networks is Family Guy. The actors make a decent check and an episode with Alex Borenstein, who voices Lois Griffen, makes around $225,000 for every new episode. However, her contract also will give her up to $10 million for reruns.

Emma Stone has said she is not back in the Spider-Man franchise, despite rumors’ suggesting she would appear in the next film, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. Speaking to MTV News, Stone had this to say,  “I have heard those rumors’. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say anything, but I’m not [going to be in it],” she said. “I don’t know what you’re supposed to respond as an alumnus.” Emma Stone played the character of Gwen Stacy in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 sequel. As anticipation for the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer rises, fans wonder if it could premiere on Tom Holland’s 25th (June 1) birthday… Stay tuned!

The dates are now April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, according to the official website. Coachella’s country music sister fest, Stagecoach, will return April 29-May 1. Coachella was originally set to take place April 10-12 and 17-19, 2020. It was canceled due to the pandemic. The advance sale for Coachella passes opens at 10 a.m. Friday, according to the site. Stagecoach advance passes will be announced at a later date. Two Reddit users were at Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith’s art show over the weekend say Smith told them the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album is done and that new music would be arriving “very soon” and that the band will tour in 2022.  Both Reddit users posted pics of them with Smith at the art event, where the drummer was showcasing some of his paintings. One commenter was a little skeptical, writing “I feel I’ve seen like half a dozen posts of people talking about meeting Chad in the last week and hearing that the album’s done. Is this just a running gag or is he just meeting with fans an unusually frequent amount of times?”

The Cardinals once again took on the Dodgers last night and thanks to a pretty awesome catch at the end of the game, the Cards got the 3-2 win.  Now, even though the win was huge, the Cards did get a bit of bad news yesterday.  Jack Flaherty has been placed on the 10 day IL with a left oblique strain.  It’s the first time in Flaherty’s career that he has been placed on the IL.  Mike Schildt says that Flaherty will spend “some time on the IL…it’s gonna take him a while to heal.”  Tonight the Cards and Dodgers wrap up their three game series.  Carlos Martinez gets the start.  First pitch is scheduled for 8:10PM.

In an unprecedented move, the San Francisco Giants will wear uniforms recognizing Pride Month, which is celebrated every June to recognize the LGBTQ+ community. On Saturday—the third game of a four-game series against the Chicago Cubs—the Giants will replace the traditional logo on their hats with one that incorporates the 11 Pride colors, and a San Francisco Pride patch will be on the right sleeve of their jerseys.  In addition to the uniforms, Oracle Park will be decked out for the affair. Palm trees outside the ballpark have been wrapped in the 11 colors featured in the new Pride logo, which incorporates the original rainbow colors with the addition of black, brown, light blue, pink and white to recognize community members of color and people who are transgender. While the move is a first for an MLB team, the Giants set the precedent in the minor leagues back in 2019. The Eugene Emeralds, San Francisco’s High-A affiliate, became the first minor league team connected to a major league club to wear Pride gear.

A group of small business owners are suing Major League Baseball and baseball’s Players Association for $1.1 billion in damages and is hoping the courts will return the 2021 All-Star Game to Atlanta following MLB’s decision to relocate the game in April. The business owners filed a complaint on Monday night. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced (link) the game was being pulled from the Atlanta area after Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed a law restricting voting rights within the state. The lawsuit says “MLB robbed the small businesses of Atlanta—many of them minority-owned—of $100 million, we want the game back where it belongs. This was a knee-jerk, hypocritical and illegal reaction to misinformation about Georgia’s new voting law which includes Voter-ID.” The suit is looking for $100 million in damages for businesses and $1 billion in punitive damages. Both Manfed and MLBPA Executive Director Tony Clark are listed as defendants.

Last night we only had one game on the schedule for the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.  The Lightning got the 2-1 win and are now up 2-0 on the Hurricanes.  Today the Jets and Canadiens play game 1, the Knights and Avalanche play game 2 of their series at 9PM.

In the NBA, the Nuggets held on to beat the Trail Blazers 147-140 in double OT to go up 3-2.  The Suns beat the Lakers and are now up 3-2 in that series.  And over in the East, the Nets beat the Celtics to knock out St. Louis native Jayson Tatum and Boston 4-1.  Tonight the Wizards look to avoid elimination as they take on the Wizards, the Hawks try and bounce out the Knicks, the Jazz can knock off the Grizzlies, and the Mavs and Clippers play game 5 all tied up at 2.

The Canadian Football League’s Edmonton franchise announced on Tuesday that it will be called the “Elks” going forward after dropping its prior nickname last July. The Club President said: QUOTE “With your input, much debate and deliberation, we came to the name we are proud to present today. It’s been a long road. We’ve taken our time to make sure we got it right, and we know we did.” The 14-time Grey Cup champion said in a release last July that it would no longer be called the “Eskimos” and instead the team would be known as the Edmonton Football Team or the EE Football Team. Last July, the team had said it has been involved in a three-year research and engagement process regarding the name change that included team partners and members of the Inuit community.

Despite having a decided edge in combat sports experience, Tyron Woodley is now considered the underdog in his fight with Jake Paul. SuperBook Sports (link) listed Woodley at +130 (bet $100 to win $130), with Paul the slight favorite at -150. The two are scheduled to face off Aug. 28 and have yet to finalize a location. Bettors appear to be respecting Paul’s skills in the ring following his first-round TKO of Ben Askren in April. While the 24-year-old remains a work in progress, he has firmly silenced his skeptics so far.

The wife of Atlanta Braves left fielder Marcell Ozuna said he threatened to kill her during their argument that led to his arrest. Authorities arrested Ozuna (link) last Saturday and charged him with aggravated assault by strangulation and battery. The arrest affidavit said Ozuna’s wife, Genesis, was showering when he took her cellphones and refused to give them back. According to reports – “He threatened to kill her and she threatened to call 911. She took his cellphone from a table and called 911.” After chasing Ozuna outside of their home, Guzman walked back inside while on the phone with the 911 operator. Per the affidavit, while on the call, she said Ozuna was coming back inside and that she was grabbing a kitchen knife for protection. Ozuna told police he had taken his wife’s phones and that his wife had pushed him to the ground and kicked him. He also said Guzman threw a garden light toward him at one point after he exited the house. The Braves issued a statement about Ozuna’s arrest, saying they “fully support Major League Baseball’s policy on domestic violence which stresses to the fullest that our society cannot and will not tolerate domestic violence in any form.”
